It's a no from me. All he knows about me is what I look like. When you boil it down, he's going around women trying to find out if they'll sleep with him, at best subconsciously. It's a more sophisticated form of wolf whistling, but it's basically the same thing. Even worse, I have no idea if he'll take rejection gracefully, or follow me to my car screaming nonsense.

You're so right. I'm gen-x, my sister is a young millennial who got all the smarts and good looks genes in the family, has a good job and an instagram following that boggles my mind, basically winning at life. She takes good care of herself, spends at least an hour getting ready to go out, and her female friends are much the same. You should see their male friends. They look like they stopped washing, buying clothes, cleaning their teeth and going to the doctor when their mums stopped forcing th…

This. Trying to solve problems by presenting someone with a "packed bowl" is just nonsense, suggests he has the relationship skills of a child, and weed has become his whole identity.

I'd put money on it he's an addict. Your ordinary bludger will have this conversation before leaving with the card, or demonstrate an increasing pattern of behaviour. They also scrounge non-cash things like accomodation, food, transport, being taken out for dates or vacations. An addict will create a dramatic, urgent, compelling situation where you must give them money for very good reasons right now, or else, disaster! And it must be cash, and it's a conveniently nice round number. And no, they…

I wouldn't take any life advice from someone getting married after dating for 2 months, nor waste your energy trying to educate them. Keep it friendly, professional, and most importantly distant. There's probably a lot of drama in her not too distant future.

Babies trap the woman, not the man. If you put your semen in a vagina, eventually you're getting a baby, not a free toaster.

He is literally telling her to do it alone. She should take that advice and divorce him. A partner who will not help do their share with a child is not neutral, they are a handicap. You'd have to wonder if she ignored signs that this baby would not be wanted by him; although some men are great future-fakers.

I got kicked out of a supposedly women-centric advice sub for suggesting that a woman ignore her brother's estimation of her sexual value 🤢 To be fair I'm not entirely innocent in this as I did use the i-word to speculate on his sexual value.

Well well, if it isn't the consequences of his own actions! When I was a kid I told a man I was feeling really sick and would vomit, he didn't believe me (?!?!), stuck out his hand and declared "If you're really going to vomit, do it in my hand!". So many posts on the relationship subs about men spending extensive one on one time with exes, women they think are hot, etc, and she's all like "I know I shouldn't be paranoid and controlling...". Girl, if you spent that time with other men you're openly crushing on, he would have a first class tantrum. Except you wouldn't do that, because you know how it would look and how he would feel; and also you have adult-level self control and emotional regulation.

So much this. I know "a" muso who is HV. I know soooo many more who aren't. Knowing what I do now I would never take a chance on one, the odds are terrible. Let music be something that you enjoy as a hobby, an academic interest, or as a consumer.

Came here to say this. Inappropriate requests for loans, or straight cash, are almost always a result of addiction. Don't be fooled if it seems like a small amount either. He'll probably either flake, or count on you to be too weirded out to continue. Keep the pressure on him.

I knew a guy like that once. Just couldn't stop obsessing about some girl he'd went to school with. He dated a bunch of women and eventually got married and then divorced, still obsessed. I don't want to dox them but I'll just say it ended in a way I consider harmful. Scarily there seem to be so many guys out there like that. Advice forums here on reddit get guys like this all the time - obsessed to the point of disfunction over someone they barely know. I despair for men's mental health.

It's written as if she gave an interview to the reporter, but I'd put money on it some scrote paparazzi popped out of the bushes and screamed the question at her as she was going about her business, and this is what she replied. Otherwise if she breezes on by and doesn't answer, the headline is something like "Jennifer Aniston tries online dating in desperate last minute baby bid!!!" just because she didn't specifically deny it.

That's reasonable when there is the expectation that both parties are considering dating each other - e.g. on a dating app or actually on an early date. It's rude to ask a stranger their age in any other context, especially so when "being friendly" which is the usual fall-back excuse of creepers. For example if you got chatting to a woman at the store, you probably wouldn't ask her age.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/06/21 01:12 AM

This 💯💯💯 Just because someone asks a question, doesn't mean you have to answer it. There is no unwritten law stating you must answer all questions just because they're asked. You aren't sitting the bar exam here! "Why do you ask?" is a perfectly reasonable response to any question. Someone who takes it badly has dodgy motives for asking. If their response doesn't convince you, make them answer the question first. Then refuse to answer anyway. You can follow up with "I don't see how that's any of…

If it's an option, load him up with busywork. Every time he comes to you with a dumb question he gets a task. Delegate all the low skill jobs you don't enjoy on to him. Then report his ass when he gets overwhelmed and can't keep up. Meanwhile make sure you're killing it at your own job, and suggest that he stick to his.

This. Good grief, if he needs support groups, blockers, accountability partners, sponsors and therapists, otherwise he'll wank himself silly or hump the first person who doesn't tell him to fk off - he has a massive, massive problem. One that's probably not fixable, and one that's going to make collateral damage out of her one day. At some point you're no longer the poor supportive spouse, you're the enabler who stayed married to a sex offender.

This reminds me of "Super dad", whose natural reaction to his wife having an accident which left her a tetraplegic was addiction, losing of custody of their children, and prison! Turns out "the stress of looking after the kids, looking after the kids’ mum, looking after the house, going to work, paying the bills" - or you know, life with a disabled partner - was more than he could handle, and addiction and homelessness was the logical solution! Tough luck for his children, I guess. https://www.s…

I lived in some really low rent areas through my university and early working days. The people were great, the cafes and bookshops and ethnic supermarkets were brilliant, and I loved having a quick commute. Downside was noise and crime. Got burgled, had my car stolen, had some sketchy flatmates. I bought a house in a nice middle class suburb and honestly 3 out of 4 of my neighbours are the rudest, noisiest, most entitled asshats ever. I'm not surprised by this sign. My partner took it upon himself to buy paint for the bathroom and didn't realise it didn't match the rest of the house until I pointed it out (which was easy because he didn't paint the door or frame 🤦‍♀️). Oh my god, I have literally just come from the supermarket and experienced this. I was pushing a trolley, so I stayed as far as possible to the side to let people going the other way past. Guess who walks down my side absolutely refusing to yield? Not women, that's for sure. What am I going to do, hold the trolley above my head to give them even more room?? On this note, make a point to take pictures of the women in your life, and send them the good ones. Do you think this was some PUA garbage he learned and did on purpose 100% this. If he was just socially inept, OP would have noticed when they met previously and likely not accepted a date. And I mean, most functional adults are smart enough not to lead with insulting someone. He didn't do it when they met at work. He was probably practicing his little speech in the mirror beforehand. trust your gut. if something feels wrong, it probably is. This 100%. Don't ignore a feeling that something is off, just because you can't quite explain why you feel that way. You don't ever have to justify your feelings. Raid your bathroom cupboard for that face/hair mask or bath bomb you bought ages ago and never got round to using. Run yourself a bath and use it! Go to bed on time. No-fault divorce simply wasn't a thing until relatively recently. Before that you had to prove one of the three "A"s - abuse, addiction, or adultery - in order for the court to even consider granting you a divorce. You also had to place an ad detailing the whole thing in a newspaper declaring the reason you wanted a divorce, I guess so any busybodies could have their 2c worth. What's with all the gross groin-stretching at the gym. Like, if your groin truly requires that much stretching you should be considering surgery. Also, there is a dedicated area for stretching and, protip: it is not in front of my treadmill 🤮 I wish gym staff would keep an eye on this sort of thing because I'm sure if I reported it I would be pigeon-holed as a troublemaker harassing a poor man with groin problems who has every right to be "friendly" etc 🙄

And the constant itching/rubbing/scratching. You're itchy there because your skin isn't clean and dry. 🤮🤮🤮 Ffs, imagine if we sat through dinner constantly touching and scratching long armpit hair. Hair anywhere on your body is perfectly natural and your choice. However it doesn't mean anyone has to find it aesthetically appealing.

This exactly. So many of these situations get me thinking "Oh no, why tf did you marry that, surely there were red flags??" There's a baby. There's always a baby. Babies trap the woman, not the man. Don't reproduce with LVM. Give your child a father they can be proud of.

This exactly. Some men LOVE the idea of having kids, after all its very easy for LVM, and you could end up in a dangerous situation. A friend of my brother is on to his fourth kid, all with different mothers, because he wants a son and they've all been daughters. He has faced zero consequences for this, financial or otherwise.

So true; and it has broad application. Last weekend I was getting upset about a gorgeous property that some extended family are letting go to ruin. Slowly it dawned on me, they don't give a fuck, why should I? They can burn their money if they want. Likewise, don't get attached to a man's family if you dont have a ring on your finger. Nothing's for keeps until then (and sometimes not even then). Keep your feels in check.

I'm so tired of all these relationshits posts where the obvious (and ok, massively oversimplified) solution is throw the whole family out, like 5 years ago. Ideally before marrying into this trainwreck, and definitely before popping out kids with someone who would consider divorcing you because someone talked him in to it. I know this is a grossly oversimplified solution to a complex problem, but this sort of thing is why it's so important to pay attention to red flags in the beginning of a rela…

Some men reach physical maturity without their brains maturing. They lack the ability to delay or deny gratification. Sometimes this manifests with compulsive eating, drinking, masturbation, or fucking everything that will let them. If you were to check back on this guy in 20 years time, nine times out of ten he will have a string of failed relationships, a bunch of children that he isn't involved with or isnt allowed to see, his career didn't go where he thought it would, and probably some pris…

Oh god that's disgusting and sad. To be clear, I'm absolutely not referencing people with physical or cognitive challenges, hence my "typically-able" qualifier. Also I had to wipe my ass with my non-dominant hand for six weeks when I broke my collarbone, so I have zero tolerance for those who could but don't! 😂

From her context I'm guessing he's completely abdicated responsibility, rather than just not being good at it or her preferring to do it. Maybe I should declare that I "can't" vacuum, mow the lawns, or wash the car 🤣

Side note: he "can't cook"? What would he do if he didn't have his bang-maid? Starve? A typically-able adult saying they can't cook should be a red flag. I mean, I don't especially enjoy cooking and I wouldn't say it's my strength, but how is "I can't cook" even an option for an adult? Crack a book, watch a YouTube video. Some food even has instructions on the packet ffs. Dividing chores by strength and preference is one thing, but this is chosen helplessness. Would she accept "I can't bathe mys…

Was the reason they had a dead bedroom because she was sick? Right? I was looking through some old photos with my LVM father and he pointed out an ex girlfriend who "just happened to know somehow" that my mother had died, and miraculously "popped back out of the woodwork" shortly thereafter. Most probably because she wasn't really "ex". When I mentioned to other family how distasteful this all was, the consensus was that he was taking "holidays" while my mother was in hospital dying, and when my…

You are not a raffle. There is no "fair" in this. You don't have to give anyone a chance if you don't wish to. No one is entitled to your time or attention. Not even your parents, and especially not a man. Anyone suggesting otherwise is not speaking with your best interests in mind, and you should consider giving much less weight to their suggestions in the future. It's not them who will pay with their personal safety if it turns out your first instincts were correct.

You don't need to drink and if you are made to feel uncomfortable you can leave any event. No one can tell you otherwise. For any reason. This exactly. I used to be a pretty enthusiastic drinker, until I declined a drink one time and saw the absolute meltdown it generated. It made me curious what would happen if I routinely didn't drink. The results have been interesting, cost me a few low value relationships, and saved me many calories and dollars. I didn't realise how much control there is in …

it's the whole planet Yep. The same sentiments are expressed by men all over the world, its just less socially acceptable to say it in some countries. In my relatively "safe" prosperous western country, the leading perpetrators of murder and assault on women are fixated men, most of whom claim to be mentally ill. Sure, it's "not all men" (TM), but it's pretty hard to tell who would or wouldn't do this given opportunity.

The train runs through predetermined stops at predetermined times. The passengers don't get a say in where or when those stops are, even if they're uncertain whether they want to go to those places yet, or at all. The only choice the passengers need to make is to be on the train, or not. Like the train, your life is not a democracy. The only one who gets a vote is you.

He has nothing to do with the children after the first few months when he moves on to the next woman. Somehow miraculously he has avoided child support - I'd say he has a big surprise in his future. Can confirm. My mother died before I was christened. I was looking at some photos of my christening when my father pointed out an old girlfriend of his in the photos. Apparently she "just happened" to know when my mother died and reappeared. I was talking to some other family members about how distasteful this was. What's the pillow hiding, a beer gut? Or an erection while sitting on mom's sofa with your bro? Are you watching porn with your bro and the dog while mom is out? 🤢 JFC Kyle, can you not spare 5 seconds to take a photo that doesn't make you look like a pervert?

Exactly right. Among the many red flags: We had a big fight about nothing really The good old "missing missing reasons". After everything she's survived, she gets stuck with a scrote like him. That poor woman. Hope she gets everything in the inevitable divorce.

When you lose the game, don't lose the lesson too. The pain you're feeling is growth. Pain is nature's motivator, it stops us from stagnating, and from making the same mistakes over and over. The pain will pass. The growth is yours forever.

This is interesting, but I feel like this is flying a bit close to purity culture for my taste. Thank you for sharing this perspective though.

If he doesn't have the time, skill, or energy to make you orgasm then he doesn't have the time, skill, or energy for sex. If you suspect this might be an issue then get yours before you allow him to penetrate you. He wouldn't accept you putting in zero effort leaving him to take care of himself, so don't accept the same from him.

You haven't been stupid; you've been learning, and growing. Growth is often painful - if it wasn't, we'd stagnate right where we are. Pain, and the memory of it, is nature's motivator. The pain will pass. Also, your English is excellent. I have no excuse for mine 😂

It's really, really unlikely that he enjoyed it for it's (very questionable) literary merits. And in the unlikely event that he did, most semi-intellegent people would have enough self-awareness to realise they sound like a raging pedo if they're going round announcing it's their absolute most favourite book ever. It's a bit like saying they're really really really into visiting South East Asia. Sure, it might be perfectly innocent. But it would be a pretty rare person who doesn't realise what t…

Block, delete, ghost. Don't waste any more energy on this guy unless you want a relationship full of insecurity. That shit will wear you down till you're a paranoid shell of your former self. When the spell finally breaks you'll end up single again after wasting some of your precious young years. A HVM will leave you in no doubt that he's in to you. Your guy is still out there. It breaks my heart when I read advice requests from women who are being treated awfully by some scrote, and they finish up with "we have two kids together"; or a newborn baby, or she's 8 months pregnant and he's cheating already. Be super careful you know that guy before you have his babies. Dont get tied to a nightmare for life. Becoming a daddy won't turn a LVM into a HVM, in fact it turns some HVM into LVM. Yes, please do this OP. Time has a way of softening memories, which may have been helpful in prehistoric times but these days just keeps us wandering back into toxic relationships. In a week, or a month, pull out that list and read it. It'll keep you grounded. Anyone who gives you crap about forgiving and forgetting just wants you back in that doormat role.

Ugh. I used to read askwomen_advice and literally every second thread was some creeper asking "Muh classmate/workmate was not utterly rude to me so I've been masturbating frantically over her for 5 years. Clearly this means she wants muh peenis, should I ask her to marry me?" Or "She said she's a lesbian, how do I put muh peenis in her?" They have no concept that being civil or professional does not mean sexual interest, and many of them fixate for years after a brief encounter.

If they wont stop, and the other people present won't call them out on it, stop hanging around with that group of people, and tell them why. Next time they invite you over, say "No thanks. You'll hear every excuse in the book, like that's just how they are, it's really your fault for getting offended, and other nonsense. Don't JADE (Justify, Argue, Defend, or Explain). In my limited experience those with an undersize issue get really jaded and angry about it and blame women, so the personality is likely to be a deterrent in the first place; or at least make easier to dump him. You're not being a bitch - your sexual satisfaction is important. It would be unkind to string him along while you try to convince yourself you can settle.

Ugh, this used to happen to my sister working at Subway. Guys would literally walk in and photograph her at work, sometimes trying to get a selfie with her in it. It didn't help that she worked with a creepazoid who used to brag to his mates about working with a hot girl. Then the so-called mates would come in and try to harass her into "dating" (i.e. fucking) them; so creepazoid behind the counter would get jealous and violent, and a fight would break out. Rinse and repeat. Management gave zero…

There are lots of great reasons to travel to SEA; but specifying that particular region in your dating profile seems likely to be a dogwhistle for a particular type of interest. Even if you genuinely like to travel to SEA and nowhere else, you'd surely have to be aware of what it sounds like you're saying. It's such a huge stereotype.

Lol, I got a nasty PM from AmandarinK (ED guy in the original thread) in reply to this, wishing "suffering" upon me. Unfortunate to have both a medical problem and an awful personality. ED guy, since you seemed to be concerned that I'm single and living with my mom, know that neither is true, but I participate in this forum because there is always more to learn about relationships and communication. More tools in your toolbox, right? You should try it. But not here.

I also got a really nasty PM from ED guy in response to my comment in this thread, full of the usual "hope u suffer" "u must live in mommy's basement kekeke" rubbish. With as much blood pressure as he seems to have, it's surprising he has ED. Guess even his blood doesn't want to go near there 😂

The irony of vilifying the woman for confiding in a friend, while he's out there having a cry to the whole wide internet. I don't know dude, maybe she's also in a frustrating and unsatisfying situation and needs advice and to vent? Almost as if women have emotional needs too?

I'm another person with parents who have a big age gap, and I'm grateful every day that that will not be my future. My stepmom is 20 years younger than my father, who does not take care of his health. They had kids late and he has not been able to contribute much physically or mentally. From her late 30s onwards my stepmom has not been able to go out or do active things other people her age do with their partner. Travel is restricted by his mobility. LOL A few years back a local TV station was interviewing a woman who was turning 100. They've done a few of these over the years. They asked her what the secret to making it to 100 was, no doubt expecting something wholesome or light-hearted, like a nip of brandy every day, or never stop dancing, or be a vegetarian. She looked straight down the camera and said very loudly and adamantly "STAY AWAY FROM MEN"

Glaring red flag: Any suggestion that violence in a relationship (or y'know, in general) is ok. Obviously violence towards you is an instant cut-off, call the police, warn everyone you know and ghost his ass. But don't overlook comments minimizing or defending other men's violence, like "Men just get angry sometimes", "He won't do that again", "There must be more to it...". Crikey. Throughout most of history and still for many women today, being "treated like a lady" has been dangerous, degrading, and brutal. Being "treated like a lady" is not the peak of my aspirations. I would much rather be "treated like an equal" and "treated with respect". As for not wanting to be a feminist, it's great that she's in a time and place where she has that luxury. Other women haven't and still don't.
