I consider feminism an extremely varied movement, with views ranging from a simple desire for everyone to be treated equally, to those who think that women need some special programs to "catch up" to men in certain ways, all the way up to man-hating, truly misandrist "femenazis" (if you'll excuse the Limbaugh-ism; I find it a quite appropriate title for these types). The hivemind in this sub likes to believe that feminism and all who claim to follow it (vague a movement though it is, broad, dece…

Not a feminist, just hate this sub.

I've been visiting this sub longer than either of us have had accounts. As time has gone on there's been less and less on the front page about actual men's issues and more and more blatant anti-feminism, misogyny masquerading as anti-feminism, and tarring and feathering of anyone who speaks any kind of sense. The "vocal minority" you claim seems to garner most of the upvotes and wield most of the downvotes. I smell cow pies.

Painting all feminists one way is exactly as bad as painting all men one way. Can we stop being moronic hypocrites and try to make some progress?

Not sarcasm. I question your intelligence though, if you can't see 1 and 2 in EVERY comment thread.

Wow, censorship much? RES does it automatically. I didn't intend to. Anyways, I won't be back. This subreddit has gone to shit. /r/MensRights has become to gender equality what /r/atheism is to social tolerance. That is: Lots of pissing and moaning about ultimately inconsequential trifles and subsequent circlejerks over the hivemind's pet strawmen; Harassment and berating of any person with moderate opinions and progressive ideas that address the actual issues, and Just a dash of actual social i…

When did /r/MensRights become /r/ShitRedditSays?

Someone doesn't understand satire. Read more of the comic. EVERYTHING from Obama to Buddhism is satirized in Sinfest.

This isn't really a mensrights issue, this is an unfortunate case of a retarded person somehow getting access to facebook. TIL Facebook screens out its users to prevent idiots from creating accounts. Oh wait.

He was totally talking about beating her up for being trans. The hypothetical date-rape scenario obviously had nothing to do with his seething hatred of anyone different from him.

ಠ_ಠ Men produce sperm constantly. Women have a limited number of eggs, and when they're gone, they're gone. The trade is more than fair. WTF is this doing here?

This ad caricatures man-haters on a comedy website, hardly a "promotion of violence." I'm for equal treatment of Men as much as anyone here, but your offense at this video is far more outrageous than the video itself. Quit being a thin-skinned nancy-boy, man the fuck up, and focus on real issues. Worry about it when someone seriously advocates cutting off nuts (though I think you deserve to lose yours for this gross overreaction).

Is this story up anywhere besides the Daily Mail? I refuse to give them traffic.

I don't understand. This is clearly satirizing misandry, not promoting it. Grow up, all of you.

At heart, I'm an anarcho-capitalist, but as the government isn't going anywhere anytime soon I'm functionally Libertarian. Baby steps...

QFT. Same for the terms "Liberal" and "Conservative." Those words now mean either "fine, upstanding, patriotic citizen with our country's best interests at heart" and "borderline traitor with the IQ of a pufferfish," depending on who's talking.

Feminism and Misandry are the same as much Conservativism is the shit the Republican Party pulls. You can use the former to refer to the latter, and it is often done, but that doesn't make it true.

You're a woman supremacist, right? No? Well, let's quit assuming random shit then. I don't identify as a MRA, or as any kind of activist really, and never claimed such. Still, beat your strawman if you must. I don't recall making any claims specific enough to merit sources. I asked a simple question that hasn't been answered yet, and pointed out that the linked page's arguments against the legislation appear to be based solely on the assumption that men are abusive, vengeful, and apathetic about…

Nope. I just don't care enough because I'm too fucking lazy, and It's not like actual data is going to change your mind on anything. Even if it would, what the fuck do I care? You're a random person on the internet making sweeping judgments about my character and viewpoints based on two posts in which I voice no opinions, merely disagreement with a webpage. Nice strawman, though. You're definitely an /r/Atheism guy, aren't you?

If you don't realize why these arguments are bad arguments based on male stereotypes and not real-world statistics, you shouldn't be calling out others on logical fallacies. (Want sources? Tough. I'm not doing homework for a random dude on the internet.)

From the link: The Fathers Count Act would authorize over $150 million in grants to organizations that will do ALL THREE of the following: "(1) promote marriage through counseling, mentoring, disseminating information about the advantages of marriage, enhancing relationship skills, teaching how to control aggressive behavior, and other methods: (2) promote successful parenting through counseling, mentoring, disseminating information about good parenting practices, training parents in money manag…

Interesting, a post which denounces the use of logical fallacy, but contains a strawman argument... Do you frequent /r/Atheism, by chance?

TL;DR: Idiots either gave their email addresses to trolls or left them where they could easily be harvested, and can't figure out how to use a filter or register a new email address. IMO this makes the participants look stupid more than it makes men look hateful.
