"Nice guy" is a term on its own. It means a man who feel entitled to romantic and/or sexual interest after showing basic human decency that is a given, like helping with loads and complimenting appearance. It doesn't use the textbook definition of "nice". It's not a few posts, it's loads of them. In addition, that's just how language works. I recommend confide this to a close friend or a therapist. You need to be reassured and listened to. Your feelings are valid, but us redditors couldn't give the same treatment as friends or therapist do.

I'm sorry OP but your line is lame at best and creepy at worst. She's being defensive from the potential of you being a creep. Learn from that. The perception of you are ugly or attractive doesn't matter if you're being a creep. Be smoother and subtler in picking your lines. Asking "are you single?" sounds predatory af even if you meant to be direct. And don't approach a girl that go in groups unless you already know her, that'll be awkward as hell.
