How is it telling her to settle? We don't even know if she goes for alpha types, all we know is that her dad wants her to get married and be a traditional wife. She obviously has other priorities, and there are lifestyles out there that would allow her to fulfill her own priorities. Her dad's type of life he desires for her isn't the only way to live.
