You did the right thing. If he wanted you, he would not act the way he did. All you’d do is live your life in a perennial state of hope that you will rekindle once what was and what could be. But hope, I’ve learned, is the worst of all evils for it prolongs your emotional torment and distress. You would essentially be colluding in your own emotional turmoil hoping he would validate you and realize what he did. He knows what he did. If somebody wants to cut ties and let you go, let them.

You’re amazing. I repeated similar type questions over and over to my ex and each time he would gas light me. I’d forgive and think maybe I was asking for too much. Someone who is invested in you (I realized this) will take these issues seriously because they care about you. What you don’t change you choose. Stay strong you can get through this.
