You're right about a lot of that, you simply don't know until you know. All you can do is mitigate risk and establish a trigger point for when shit goes bad. I can't say what my past chicks say about me, although my ex claimed some wild shit about me after our split.

I've considered these things. We entered into this deal with those very understandings. I'll cross those bridges if or when I even get to them, they aren't going to dissuade me from living my life the way I want

From what she tells me, he was a very attentive and immersed dad before the daughter had her ordeal. Sounds like the whole thing fucked him up. I'm not blind, and I'm no idiot. I'll cut chute if true red flags start popping up, she knows that.

Thanks dude, I'm always happy to share my experience with others.

Because I've assessed the risk of what I've both observed and have been told. As I understand the history, he wasn't a deadbeat until their daughter was hospitalized at Stanford and almost died from pulmonary hypertension. He started fucking around behind her back after that ordeal (perhaps as a coping mechanism?) She was left with the two kids and he ran off with a third chick that he cheated on the new mom with. Now he's paying out support to two different chicks for a total of three kids, and…

Thanks man. I understand the projection of frustration and anger I'm reading here. I was there, I've been incredibly guarded and cautious since my divorce. Is that going to guarantee an emotionally pain-free existence until the grave? Probably not. Am I going to avoid more bullshit now that I've lived it? I have on several occasions now. Am I going to stop taking risks and live a lonely and boring life? Fuck no. Does any of this make me less of a man? I certainly don't think so. I do what I want…

First marriage ended because my ex-wife cheated on me. We married young, was a terrible decision. Nevada defaults to joint legal and physical custody. Regardless, I fought tooth and nail for my boy. I answered this in round 1, I didn't have a preference. I dated many chicks from both sides of the kid/no kid fence after my marriage. Frankly, there aren't that many quality females out there anymore. My gf and I are both divorced so we've both approached this particular relationship with those hard…

That was a tough time for me, no doubt. Sucks for anyone to go through that kind of bullshit. I've learned from that experience and since then I've entered into all other dating scenarios with a more hightened sense of scrutiny and caution. I'm sure I'll have more hard lessons in life but that's not going to force me into a shell.

There's been absolutely no pressure on me to father her kids. I focus on my boy and she does the same with her kids. She does receive support from her ex, yes.

We don't really interact with each other's kids beyond cohabitation. I focus my time on my boy and my gal. I'm not trying to father her kids and she's not trying to mother my son. We have made a point to keep out of each other's custody deals and it has worked out damn near flawlessly.

I don't pay for her kids, she does just fine on her own with that. I'm also not trying to be their father, they already have one.

She's been nothing but grateful for the beds. She's incredibly independent and low maintenance, she could give less fucks about brand names

~10 hours of enjoying my hobby and drinking scotch. Can't speak as to what their dad does in the meantime

I live in Nevada, we don't have Commonwealth law here nor its child custody counterpart

Sure man, I'd be happy to. Her having kids or not wasn't a big deal to me. I have a son from my marriage. I didn't charge her for the labor the same as I don't charge family or friends. Woodworking is a discipline of mine, I make my money through my full-time profession. She's not broke, she was already looking to buy her kids bed sets from a furniture store when I offered to do it for material cost. The quality of furniture from you typical furniture store is frankly dog shit, so why not build …

Painting in broad strokes with one color around here boys. I say six words and without any other knowledge or fact finding everyone here has me all figured out, astonishing! I'd be happy to entertain questions to assuage any baseless assumptions you fellers may have.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
