Yes totally agree different social situations trigger different responses in people. I've checked out that subreddit and it's been really eye opening. I wasn't aware that some of those folks had SA, thanks for sharing!

Totally, try to track what works and what doesn't. Also what the different cues are. Also, I mentioned changing the routine and when you succesfully do change that routine, don't forget to reward yourself! It will help encourage you to keep up the good habits. Best of luck and LMK if I can help further. Also, I plan to write more content on this topic since I have some friends that really relate to this stuff. If you want me to keep you in the loop of new content, PM me your info and I'd be happ…

That's a really great question and I have some friends who are actually in the same position and I also see how others just tell them to "suck it up" of "get over it" simply because they do well for themselves. First of all, you should not feel guilty about it. Unless you won the lottery or some other weird fluke, you deserve what you make and you shouldn't let anyone tell you differently. If you're in the US or another capitalist country, that's the way it works and anyone can go out and try to…

That's a great question and is exactly why I brought up the habit loop. Everything we do is based upon habits: cue, routine, reward. The best way to make changes that stick is to change the routine and do it so regularly that you get to the point that it becomes "the new normal." Some experts say it takes 21 days, some say 30. But mindfully changing the routine day after day is the best way to train your mind to begin doing it permanently. So transforming any negative thoughts into positive ones…

Sure thing I'm really glad it helped and it sounds like you're actively working to identify and improve it which are the most important things. Keep up the great work and I'm glad you're seeing those results. I had more to say about eye contact and smiling but really wanted to focus on eliminating that negative self-talk b/c as you mentioned...that's the first step! Good luck with everything, I'm going to continue writing. If you find this helpful and want me to send you some more stuff, PM me y…

For sure, I will check out that method and learn more. Were any of the action items helpful in your opinion? What are some of the other issues you face relating to socializing/communication? I've been writing a lot of this stuff since I'm coaching a friend of mine who's struggling with this too. Would love to hear your perspective.

Great job! It's so much easier to let those negative thoughts over take you and your whole day but you made an active choice to improve that and so glad you did. It's hard to do, but it sounds like it really paid off. Keep up the great work and enjoy the weekend the same way!

Totally, never judge a book by its cover. You never know what someone is thinking on the inside. Nobody's perfect and realizing that along with the fact that you aren't is just part of being human and perfectly normal. Thanks for sharing!

From people I've spoken to who are looking to improve their social skills they mention not wanting to miss out on business/career opportunities, meeting new people, and feeling good about themselves. But if it's not something you want to work on, this post may not be beneficial

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
