This feels so incredibly relatable to me. I've struggled with weight my entire life... even after having three children i couldn't seem to ever quite get to 100lbs (@ 5ft 2in). About a year and a half ago i began to venture into weightlifting, and that combined with eating at a caloric surplus has changed my life! I've gained about 12 lbs of muscle mass in all the right places and am consistently told I've never looked better. Weightlifting has become one of my favorite hobbies and is good for t…

It's nice to have my body operating on its own rhythms. Learning about and being so in tune with my body has been one of my favorite "side effects" of NFP! I feel like I can read myself so well, if that makes sense. Quitting the pill was definitely one of my best decisions ever. I read somewhere that it's been scientifically proven to restore headaches and other pains. I forget why, I could look it up but I'm lazy. I believe you are correct...certainly in my experience. If nothing else it serves…

Absolutely! I was on the pill for about 5 months when I was a teenager, and never plan to go back. Personally I think there are a lot of benefits of staying away from hormonal BC.

When I was a young and very naive bride I assured my husband I would never tell him no about sex, but that I was trusting him to be considerate of me and my needs. Now, over eleven years later, we've both held our ends of that deal quite well. It's been an easy deal for me because I have a high sex drive, and also because I am married to a thoughtful and considerate man who isn't going to push me when he knows I am sick or extra tired. (Although orgasms seem to help headaches, ladies, but that's…

But what if Dad doesn't? If Mom is RP aware should she pass on any of this to her son?

I had no idea what to expect...but it was like nothing I could have guessed. Unfortunately the first thing I read was something about spinning plates and AWALT, and as a life-long one-man woman that offended me deeply lol. Thankfully I stuck around long enough to realize there was so much more to be gleaned than just that.

How fun to read over the comments and stories from everyone! It's super interesting to me to see the different paths everyone has taken to end up here. I first discovered RPW after being on Reddit for almost a year. I heard about TheRedpill on a "what's the most toxic sub" type post, and clicked the link out of curiosity. Oh boy. I browsed for hours. Some of what I read made me angry, some I agreed with whole-heartedly, and some confused me. I grew up in a very conservative family with an author…

I homeschool our 3 children....does that count? I spend many hours a day teaching 3 different grades. It's gigantic investment of time, but so far I wouldn't have it any other way and am thankful that I have the opportunity to do so.

I'm 29, and honestly I don't think I've peaked yet. I'm aware that many in the RP community might not agree with that, but so far it's true. I was an extraordinarily late bloomer, due to a variety of circumstances, and so far I've been looking better every year. Part of this I believe is due to consistent weight lifting, an active lifestyle, and eating well. As time goes by I also continue to learn more about things such as skincare, so hopefully that is contributing. No doubt "the wall" is head…

My grandmother is a (retired now) National Sales Director for Mary Kay, and worked with Mary Kay Ash in the beginning years of the company, so my sister and I were raised on it haha. I remember she gave me a full set of the Velocity on my 13th birthday, saying, "it's never too early to for beautiful skin, my dear!"

Waiting for marriage was as much his standard as mine, actually. Our moms were friends for years before we got together, so we both knew the other had unusually high standards. Looking back I'm sure it was a part of the attraction haha. Knowing that we both had the same goal in that department made it much easier than it would have been otherwise, I'm sure.

This is obviously something that varies couple to couple, but for us it was a very gradual and gentle fade. I chose to wait until marriage for sex, and I believe there is something about the discipline and pent-up sexual energy of waiting that carries you very far in a marriage. Our "honeymoon" phase lasted a very long time, and as it gradually wore off it left in its place a quieter and deeper love. Like /u/littleeggwyf said, I have no doubt that I love my husband far more now than I did when I…

She definitely is. I feel incredible lucky to have her in my life. We live several states away, but I was able to take my 3 children out to stay for an extended visit with her a few months ago. I know I've bragged about them here before, but my IRL role models are my mother and grandmother. They are both the most feminine and hardworking women I know. My grandmother raised grew up on a large farm, raising animals and picking cotton. As an adult, she raised 4 kids, taught home-economics, worked with foster children and managed a farm. She is the perfect example of a multi-talented woman...she is an excellent cook, seamstress, and well-respected woman in the community. She is good at wha…

I'm making duck gumbo for the first time today. My hubs has been doing a lot of duck hunting recently, and this morning when he returned from the lake with his catch he asked me to use them for gumbo. Just the roux took over an hour of near constant stirring to make! It's simmering away on the stove now and smells delicious. It's satisfying to both of us to go from ducks in the air to food on the table within a few hours.

I only suffered through 5 months of the Pill before calling it quits and never returning. It was daily headaches and a constant feeling of sluggishness. We've been using NFP for a little over 10 years now, and loved it.

Ooh very interesting! What area have you relocated to, and how are you finding it compares to your previous home as far as music culture? Your username makes me think American South, which is where I hail from. :) What is your instrument of choice? Mine is piano. My grandmother started teaching me to play when I was 4, and it's been one of the loves of my life ever since. Lol don't feel behind! We all travel at different speeds. Motherhood at 19 definitely isn't for many people. :) Yes, I have always been a SAHM. I'm 29, married for 11 years (yes I started incredibly young) and have 3 children...our daughter is 9, and two boys. One is 7, and the youngest is turning 4 today. I was 19 when our oldest was born. When I was a little girl I viewed motherhood as the height of womanly glory haha. This is probably largely due to my mother, who I honestly think is one of the best women to ever walk this green earth. She had 7 children within 11 years (I'm the oldest) home schooled all of us, cooked amazing meals 3…

My husband and I actually designed and built our home. It took several years to complete, because we did almost all of the work ourselves. It was a wonderful way to work together and compromise on style, design, and everything else that goes into making a home. He primarily left the interior decorating up to me, but I made sure to consult him on his preferences. Luckily we have a lot of similiar tastes, and both knew we wanted to go for a more minimal space. We ended up with lots of natural ligh…

My husband is a laid back and easy-going fellow, and I tend to be more of a natural leader and driven person, so this is something I tend to struggle with. My mother has been an amazing example, and has helped me with this so much. He leaves the day-to-day running of the household to me, but takes care of all the finances and "big" decisions. He is considerate enough to often consult my preference and opinion on many things, but even if I disagree I've learned to uphold and support his final dec…

Hello! I'm pretty new to this sub, but I grew up in a very conservative and redpillish family, and am now a SAHM myself. My mother was (and is) the best mother and wife I think anyone could ask for and set an amazing example for her daughters, so this way of life is all I've ever known. I'd be happy to chat or attempt to answer questions if you'd like! Feel free to PM me. :)

Christmas and New Year's are very lazy days for my family. We have some close friends that own a bakery and restaurant, and the week before Christmas is the busiest time of the year for them. We always pitch in to help them, sometimes working the middle of the night and early morning shifts, so by the time Christmas rolls around we're all exhausted. So our main Christmas tradition is sleeping in! We usually open presents and share a big dinner at my inlaw's on Christmas Eve, then go to bed and h…

I recently found several long sleeve floral skater-type dresses at Forever 21. They were on sale and in darker jewel tones, so I snatched them up! I've been wearing them with black leggings and booties/western boots and really enjoying them. If it's cold enough for a coat (Deep South here) I add my black leather motorcycle jacket. Also I have a few sweater dresses that are super cozy. Last week I found one that is a soft rose pink and paired it with some black leggings that had little pink and w…

Hi Roseenvy! I'm usually just a lurker on here, and certainly not an expert on TRP theory, but thought I'd share a little of my own experience. I grew up (largely due to my parents) also believing sex=loyalty, as you do. Sure, everyone thinks you're crazy and oldfashioned, but it was so worth it. I have now been married almost 11 years to the only man I've ever been with. Trust me, there are men out there who would give anything to meet a girl who thinks the way you do. My brother-in-law recently retired from the army, and he would agree with that rant 100%. I have heard him make some very similar comments recently. I was on the Pill for about 5 months, starting a month before I married. It gave me severe headaches and after several months I decided it couldn't possibly be worth the constant pain, so we started investigating non-hormonal forms of birth control. I was so relieved to be off of it. Over 10 year (and 3 planned children later, I'm so thankful I only took it a short time. It's a weird and long story haha. Short version: We originally met when I was only 7...My family was traveling through his state with mutual friends and the friends wanted to stop and visit his family, so we did. He was 18 and still living on the family farm. He and his sister were very sweet and patient with me and my little siblings, and when I wanted to pet the horses he held me up so I could reach over the gate. :) We didn't reconnect until years later. I've recently gotten back into running. I used to run some with my hubs before our third was born, but after he arrived I never picked it back up. I've been gradually getting back into it for 2 weeks now, and it feels good! I go almost every night after the kids are in bed (and when it's cooled off a little!). I would never suggest ignoring or being unavailable for your children, and that's not at all the message of the book. I apologize if I conveyed anything of the sort. His point is that if the parents do not nurture a good relationship between themselves, it is easy to neglect your spouse while focusing exclusively on the children. Having parents that are disconnected is a huge disservice to children. There's a lot to be said for a good balance between parents and children.
/r/RedPillWives08/09/16 04:37 PM

It truly was for me. A friend recommended it to me sometime during those first exhausting two weeks with my first child. I read it while nursing and began implementing his ideas at once. She was sleeping a solid 7-8 hours a night by the time she was 3 months, along with 3 long naps a day, and was an amazingly happy and contented baby. Developing good sleeping habits at an early age is a gift to your child, and can help save your sanity!

I've seen several ones here comment on the importance of not making the children the center of the marriage/family, and I completely agree. A series of books that turned out to be a huge help to me in the first couple of years of motherhood is the Babywise series. I didn't agree with everything Dr. Gary Ezzo had to say, (but when do we ever agree with someone 100%, amiright?) but there is so much common sense and wisdom in his books. Ok that's the brand we use. And yeah, it won't taste very good without any sweetener haha. My mother-in-law is a midwife, and gave me prenatal care with all three of my pregnancies. I've had to deliver in the hospital due to local laws. During my last birth, when I was dilated to 4cm (and still at home) she gave me a pint of strong, unsweetened raspberry tea. We always mix it with just a pinch of spearmint tea. (I'm sure peppermint works too!) I've always had the brand from Frontier Co-op, so maybe it's just that I like their tea. How much and what type of sweetener did you use?

Have you ever tried drinking red raspberry leaf tea? You can purchase it online or in most health food stores. If you drink it off and on during the month, and especially the week before your period, it can really help with the cramping and hormone swings. It tastes really good, too. We live in the Deep South where iced tea is a tradtion, and a lot of my family uses it instead of or alongside regular tea. It's a staple around our place! Also, try taking calcium and zinc.

Yeah my husband had some very skeptical comments thrown his way...still does occasionally. We just laugh about it now...and watch people gape when they realize how old I actually am. :) To make things even more confusing, our 9 year old daughter is tall like her father and already past my shoulder. I don't blame people for not being able to figure out our family dynamics...I'm sure we look confusing.

I'm married to a man that is 11 years older than me, and yes, some people were a little weirded out by it at first. We also received a lot of nasty looks from strangers for the first couple of years. I'm sure this isn't the norm, but I have always looked very young for my age, and in my early twenties I still looked like an awkward teenager. After having a couple of babies I started to fill out better. I'm in my late 20's now, and according to my husband and family look the best I have yet. Oh yes, I certainly don't have a problem with girls doing "tomboyish stuff" and vice versa...I was and in some ways am still quite a tomboy. My daughter is 9 now and is a hilarious hybrid princess-tomboy. I was simply stating that in my experience many times children exhibit those "typical" gender leanings at a suprisingly early age. I'm sure there are also some who do not.

“My son acts no differently than my friend’s daughter. Literally, there is no difference in how they play or how they learn or how they interpret their world.” This made me laugh out loud. My boys were both making engine/tractor/truck sounds whenever they saw a vehicle before they said "mama", and as soon as they could toddle around outside every stick was a sword or a gun. My daughter would tenderly rock anything as a "baby" as soon as she could sit up unassisted. Take her outside and every sti…

Perhaps the reason your husband feels like paying for the paint is too harsh a punishment is because it will be so prolonged and drawn out. Sometimes punishments that last over a period of weeks or months is appropriate, but perhaps that's a little long for such a young child. In my experience immediate repercussions are more effective for children at that stage.

My sister has the brown harness boots and I'm so jealous of them haha. I'm usually more partial to western style/cowboy boots (I'm a big Ariat fan) but I love having a variety to choose from. Boots are my favorite way to keep the toes warm in winter!

I pretty much live in boots during the winter, and I'm always excited to pull them out when the weather starts cooling off. I usually pair them with knee length dresses and tights, but they'll go with almost anything.

I love these so much! My grandmother gave me her old Harley motorcycle boots (that she wore on cross country trips) and they fit perfectly. They are a staple for me during the fall and winter. I love the blend of function and nostalgia!

I never even heard the term "redpill" until a few months ago. I was raised in and old fashioned and conservative home, and my father has always been redpillish/alpha type, so a lot of the content on /r/theredpill didn't shock me as much as I'm sure it would have otherwise. I actually heard about it through /r/askreddit. There was a thread about crazy subs, and someone mentioned /r/theredpill. I clicked the link purely out of curiosity, and started reading the sidebar. I was intrigued by what I r…

I had never heard the term "redpill" until several months ago, but I grew up in a old-fashioned, conservative and redpillish home. Many of the ideas and theories I've read about here correspond with the way I was raised and now use in my family and relationship. I first heard about Redpill on /r/Askreddit. Someone had asked what was the most crazy/ deranged sub on reddit, and someone else mentioned /r/theredpill. I clicked the link purely out of curiosity and immediately got lost in the sidebar …

Occasionally my hubs and I like to get custom made matching tshirts, and I'm wearing one of mine today. :) I'm also wearing a white gold and diamond band he gave me for our 10th anniversary earlier this year. It's small and dainty and I rarely take it off.

Yes! I love using the Moby wrap for newborns and small babies, and the 7 sling for when they are big enough to hold their head up and want to look around. It usually makes for a much more contented baby as well.

And what worked for your first baby might not (ok...likely won't) work for your second...

Aww thank you! We've always laughed about that day. Of course neither one of us could imagine what things would be like years down the road. He still has that sweet, considerate nature that I noticed so early on!

We originally met when I was only 7 and he was a teenager. Out parents had mutual friends, and we were passing through his state and stopped for a quick visit. His family had a small farm, and he was kind enough to show my siblings and I around. We were little city kids and in complete awe of the country. He and his sister were so gentle and patient with us. They took me down to the pasture because I asked for a closer look at the horses, and he lifted me up on the gate so I could pet them. We d…

LOLOL are you referring to "Gone With the Wind?" I hadn't thought of that but yes, Scarlett O'Hara ended up with her sister SueEllen's ex-fiancee Frank. Good thinking!

My husband and I have been married 10 years, and he sees that we have something that works. We haven't seen any harm in helping steer him in the right direction if he asks. We would never have volunteered any of this if he wasn't interested.

First off, I am surprised that no one else has commented on how this is a thread about how you are trying to help a guy bone you sister more... Lol I'm a woman...does that make more sense?

Sometime I'd love to chat about your midwifery! My mother delivered most of her children at home, and my mother-in-law and cousin are both midwives. I wanted to have home births with all of mine, but was unable to duse to various issues and state laws. It's a subject near and dear to my heart!

Backrubs during his lunch break! His work is less than a mile away from our home, so he almost always comes home for lunch. It's our daily ritual to have a snuggle-and-backrub session before he returns to work. I make my own massage oils using essential oils and various carrier oils, and he has his certain favorite combinations of scents.

We live in a rural area, so there are a lot of outdoor activities that my husband and I enjoy as dates. We both love shooting, so trips to the range or going hunting (in season) are two of his favorites. We also love to take a blanket out to a field or other open place during a meteor shower and watch the shooting stars while snuggling. (Persied's meteor shower is August 12th...mark your calendars!) Walks in the woods or down to the lake are simple but fun. If we're going to the city, we like to…

Hi everyone! I discovered the redpill community a few months ago and have been lurking ever since. When I saw this thread I decided it was time to make an account and introduce myself. I'm 28, married, and we have three children. I grew up in a conservative, old-fashioned home and have always been somewhat of a redpiller without knowing what "the redpill" was. I'm excited to hang out here more and learn from you ladies!
