Omg yes, invest for me. Your assets in my name? Now we’re talking.

I was a kid in the 80s/90s, so no internet. I understand, I’m just commenting on the quick jumps to child neglect/abuse, as that’s not always the case. Some hair is just unruly. I obviously was not in the situation, so just giving my own experience as a child and now as a parent.

I’ve always had long hair, but as a kid, it was routinely longer than my waist/butt. It’s naturally wavy and it was tangly as hell no matter what when I was a kid. It would take my mom about an hour to help me wash it, and I remember her spraying it with that “no more tangles” stuff. She should’ve bought stock in it; I think she went through about a bottle a bath. Even my son now has wild hair and it’s not even that long, but tangles so easily. I think kids sometimes just look like they live in …

I have PTSD/CPTSD too but I think sometimes us that have experienced especially repeat traumas sometimes allow dealbreakers/boundary crossing in relationship. I’ve discussed this a lot with my therapist. She has said that us with repeat trauma and abusive relationship patterns almost find comfort in partners that don’t treat us right because that’s what we are used to. Please don’t gaslight yourself into thinking that this is just you or your trauma speaking, there is most likely more at play.

Quality post. Good for you for learning and keeping better and healthier habits!

You’re discounting genetics within health “choices”. Obesity is largely genetic, some people are genetically prone to being larger (as well as gravitating towards certain types of meals, alcohol, salt, sweets, having larger waistlines, etc. Genetics are fascinating, you should read more about it) “Recent studies suggest that genetics contribute to 40-70% of obesity with the discovery of more than 50 genes that are strongly associated with obesity.” https://obesitymedicine.org/obesity-and-genetic…

However, cohabitation has gone up. Marriage has gone down. Just because people are single doesn’t mean kids aren’t living with (or even seeing) their parents.

That’s a slur dude. So, if people need both men and women to reproduce how is this mainly a women’s issue again?

Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t males need to assist human females in creating new life? Are we asexual reproducers and no one informed me?

Wait a sec. your analogy is flawed though. insurance companies always charge you for stuff you don’t necessarily need, and it’s standard. You can’t drop it from the lowest bare-bones package. So is living in our society with taxes.

That’s the thing, people can’t “do abortions” without support from public health, the government, and other humans. And yes, utilizing slurs frequently like “wh-res” and “r-tards” is really gross. How do you want to be a lawyer if you don’t actually support people
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/20 03:23 AM

How is birth, and therefore birth control, solely a woman’s issue?

Generally, the lower education someone is, the more kids they end up having (obviously not a person by person basis). So to fine single mothers would create a larger class divide, which is not a great strategy.

I just read through this thread, how did you come to such strong opinions at such a presumably young age (still in university). Misogyny? Classist? How does “no one [care] about obesity”? How are 1% of health issues genetic? Why do you keep utilizing slurs for people you don’t agree with? Do you realize assets are things people own? I’m so confused.

Serotonin isn’t the only factor or chemical in depression, though, nor is it in the diagnostic criteria

What if someone’s testosterone is tested and it’s low? Males and females have testosterone. Testosterone is a measurable hormone

What do you mean by “women’s nature” in this comment?

Wow. Why do you hate women this much?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/20 04:12 AM

Wait lol, what??? Do you think women that like sex and have high self esteem are rare? I’m. I’m honestly scared at your comment and your mindset.

I’m quoting the article you provided...

This is so untrue, where are you getting this info?

This is it. u/vagbutters et al, did you consider that possibly there are other reasons a woman wants to break up with you and it has nothing to do with Chad’s ween even though you keep convincing yourself for some reason it is?

It usually means the girl has really good friends that are very protective and want to see their friends pick good men that will treat them well.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 07:15 PM

What kind of men are the right kind then? I feel like this is like the saying, “with friends like these, who needs enemies”

I thought this was interesting, “First, those who report having five or more sexual partners are more likely to be male.” The article even says the most likely to both be more promiscuous/have a higher “body-count” and be infidelitous are males.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 07:06 PM

How is that even analogous to what you’re saying? Are you ok?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 07:01 PM

Why do you even believe that’s reasonable?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 06:34 PM

Where is that notion coming from?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 06:31 PM

Okay I’m fine with this. Thank you for this clarity. I’m fine with whatever to consenting, well informed, communicating adults agree with in the confines of their relationship. I appreciate you clarifying.

Promiscuity is bad because...?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 05:04 PM

Yeah wow not everyone lies. And not everyone wants to continue things they’ve done in their past, including sexual things. That’s why consent is a continual ask.

I have a big issue with guys shaming women for “body count” but then in the same breath claiming that men have “thousands of years of evolution” that they should have sex. Stop. Stop it.

Oh good god. Maybe this is why giRLs LiE. Why such ridiculous double standards?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 03:41 PM

Agree with this idea that it should come up early on or never. But what’s up with the whole diatribe in the OP? Why is it, and this comment, directed only towards women? Why does promiscuity only “count” if it’s female? That’s ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/20 03:40 PM

Thank god, I thought I was the only one flaired this way. I feel the same way. We’re supposed to empower ourselves and each other, let’s focus on that growth mindset.

So what I’m hearing you say is “women have little to no value to begin with.” You can think that. The whole point is women holding onto their self esteem no matter what any man says or does to them. 🤷🏻‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/20 12:22 AM
6

I think you’re missing the entire point that FDS tries to teach women to value themselves first over any man. high value or not. Like we’d rather just not have a man, not have sex, then be with any dude that might not value us. Does that make sense to you? It’s teaching self love and empowering women, first.

So let me get this straight. You think that sex workers never get arrested, and that rich and/or famous men are “alpha males”?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/20 05:46 PM

A John is a customer that pays for sex. By your logic a woman who sells sex to a John would be a criminal too, no? In addition. It’s absolutely silly to think that all “criminals” (I’m guessing you mean individuals that engage in illegal activities?) are caught, or arrested, or charged at the same rate or with the same punishments. Also that wouldn’t change the word, the idea is that it’s describing a “beta male” and that “alpha males” wouldn’t buy sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/20 02:09 PM

What about a John? There’s always a word.

If you need to text (ie, something almost impulsive) copy and save it to a Note in your phone instead of sending it to the guy, or text it to yourself instead. Ideally you’ll have a good friend or therapist you can bounce it off of, but if not, these are some strategies too.

There are not “correct” emotions. anger is the emotion, however you are coupling the emotion with a behavior. Therapy can help you (the “royal you” not just YOU) create and practice replacement behaviors. That way, when you feel a totally normal and valid and healthy human emotion (ie, anger) you can manifest a healthy behavior alongside it (ie, going for a bike ride, doing a workout, singing a favorite song really loud, calling a friend, etc).

I would say any boobs are big enough honestly. Take a trip over to /r/ABraThatFits, you’re probably even larger than DD, u/StrainingMyNeurons. We’re conditioned to think that A = small and D = large but that’s not the case. I thought my whole life up until I found that sub a few years ago that I was a 32/34A, I’m actually a 32/34DDD. It’ll change your life. Correct bra sizing is a reclaimation of the self and a proclamation of feminism.

Thank you. I had to take last Monday off because I was so queasy. I normally take off, I dunno, fairly frequently, but it’s been slightly easier working from home. I realized I hadn’t taken a complete full day off since the spring. (I worked through the summer too) Like I get feeling lonely, I’m lonely too, but I need some empathy here. He knows I don’t think porn is a valid answer. The way he said it and the fact he said it at all was completely an asshole move.

Just FYI, as a special education teacher, trauma can mimic some symptoms of disorders (ie, ADHD, personality disorders, etc). That’s also something to keep in mind.

Thank you. It’s really hard. I don’t think I mentioned it in my post but I’m a special education teacher and my son has extra needs as well. The days are hard man. As far as diet, I have an incredible GI and registered dietitian team. My dietitian helped me with FODMAPs and eliminating gluten (I’m gluten intolerant). She also recommended AIP to see how it went for me. I eat a lot of plant based foods, not so much meat on a regular basis. Thank you so much for the care and resources!

I think the dx are legit. Like I said in my post, my joint issues have been with me since my teens, just diagnosed as other issues (I never saw a rheum as a kid, I most likely would have been diagnosed as seronegative JIA then). I can absolutely see it as exacerbated. The side effects of the meds was what I was mentioning though, just that even recently with new meds that do have side effects there is no empathy from him.

Yeah I had asked him what can we do to be close? What can we do to make things better? And also that we are physically close sometimes and that he can make the first move to cuddle or hug me, or sit with me, whatever... I said “what about when you rubbed my back the other day?” And he’s like - lol - “I don’t get anything out of that.” I was like, oh- ok

I think they were advising her against it. With a c-section you bleed a looooot and still have to have no sex for 6 weeks anyway. At least! This dude absolutely sucks

I thought about how dating is going to go after this. It’s kinda weird to think about. You’re going to talk to someone for weeks, months, and then risk it all to go outside and be within 6 feet of them? Touching skin?? How scandalous.

2) When it comes to building muscle, it took me like 5 years of regular lifting, then it started happening. I bet if you followed your TDEE, it wouldn’t have taken 5 years. Sorry you experienced that.

Please don’t give this kind of info to people. You’re going to seriously hurt someone. And please look up your total daily expenditure before you start telling people not to do pull ups, it’ll take “years” to build muscle, and they should eat no more than 1000 calories a day. https://tdeecalculator.net
