I don't think anyone here would disagree with such an initiative in principle. The problem is the way in which it is implemented. Conflating statistics to exaggerate victimhood, demonising men in general and portraying them as monsters regardless of their behaviour as individuals, and basically scaring women away from education are all standard procedure here. This is really satisfying. I think it's Nottingham in which they're trailing laws to make it criminal to stare at a woman. What's interesting is that the author doesn't cite evidence that disputes the 1/3 statistic, she only cites incompleteness in the study. That incompleteness could hide any kind of reality. Her assumption that the areas in which there is no information are positive refututations of the information that does exist is wholly unjustified.

This reminds me a lot of a recent exchange with my Ex. If ever I tried to tell her that something she was saying was hurtful to me, or just said "don't say that to me" she would say I was abusing her and that "I make her feel like a bad person". Literally just for pointing out to her that she was attacking me she would see that as an attack because it made her realise she was doing something wrong and she felt bad about it.

It might also be worth noting that with the housemate situation, I actually got in touch with the DV advice line. That's said "it's good you're looking out for your mate" but then gave me no actual advice. I don't see this as descriminatory, more just as an indication that there's not really any procedure in place for these situations.

The silver lining of this is that if you want to actually reduce incidents of assault, addressing what a potential victim can do to stay safe is actually quite effective. It's one of the reasons I'm so disgusted by feminists telling women to not take steps to ensure their safety just to avoid a sense of accountability, because there's actually a lot potential victims can do.

Not that it's the business of uninvolved strangers like us to make these calls, but it very much seems like a regret rape situation to me. If this is the case, it's bad when it happens to men, it's bad when it happens to women. The mentality that "our suffering must become your suffering" significantly contributed to how hateful feminism has become. Iron John is good, especially when you're young, but it's a bit washy and vague at times. If you're interested in fiction, Pop Quiz is a great short story by David Foster Wallace. It doesn't deal with gender specifically, but it forces you to think in a way that is extremely useful to understanding these things.
