Same. I am not 'good looking' but rather described as cute or nice to be around. Looks-wise, I'm told I'm 'pretty okay'. But that alone is worthless. It all comes down to how I act, my mental state, and how prepared I am to put myself out there. Looks, at best, inspire curiosity. It's the actions that matter. Like they say: men act, women are. It holds all too true in the sexual marketplace.

The issue IMO is people overrate looks and forget the rest. Looks (or rather: a good look) matters a lot but seals no deal. Game and frame matters a lot more. And internalized understanding of the deeper dynamics seals the deal.

Depends extremely on the person and their traits. I 'win' friends and 'influence' people by un-charismatic behavior in the traditional sense. I am liked for being cute, more nice in the quasi-BP sense than charismatic in RP sense. I can project certain aspects of charisma. But, more than anything else, I'm just good at adapting and improvizing, which means I can motivate and connect if need be. With a broad segment of the population. Very few are beyond my ability to find something in common wit…

I think there is some connection. INFJ for example is, almost by nature, less bound to honesty as we 'feel' externally and adapt to our environment. I think many INFJs can relate to being a mirror / reflection of surrounding people and emotions. This - almost by implication - causes higher M traits. Now, my mid P is more related to past emotional trauma than MBTI type, but it's likely that certain types are far more likely to develop certain traits than not. E.g. if I had not been so willing to …

Yes, in our current world. You seem to believe the way things are in a two-gender society apply to a one-gendered society. Which could be. But we cannot know this because we have never experienced such a society. That is my point. It holds true now. But will it hold true when men are gone too? Can you know this? Can anyone know this when it's never happened to our knowledge?

So right away you have a problem, if a person has the philosophy society is a better place with no violence. Using RP theories, the logical thing to do is eliminate men. This is the stance of some hard core feminists. You're going to have to prove that to me first. The science behind RP shows me nothing that leads me to believe this would actually occur. There's no corrolation at all. Evo psych and biology in fact suggests two very different options: A) women turn on one another in conflict over…

Except RP isnt based on philosophy. It's based on evo psych an biology; science. Philosophy is what TRPers make of the truths (a better word would be: hypothesies (sp?) or evidence) that make up the theory. I don't mind discussing philosophy per se but it quickly becomes a mine vs yours slugfest. Which, imo, is a bit of an issue because that increases incentive to ignore crirical thought in favor of individual perspectives - which kinda runs counter to the ideas TRP is built around: self-improve…

Not exactly. I'm explaining (and failing at it) a subtle difference between male and female communication patterns. The words are irrelevant. The emotional impact from her solipsistic POV matter. I understand this is a hard concept to grasp if you cannot sense a woman's emotional state. It will still be more efficient to say "get it done by friday" but the issue here is she will be sensing his mounting frustration even if not consciously. Thus posture, tone of voice, and mode of convincing need …

I've been told by several woman I acted 'like their father'. Which is no surprise; I emulate my father, whom I respect and adore. He may not be RP but he had the principles down and showed me what to do, no matter how hard it was. I'm just surprised how early this emerges. I'm barely mid 20s and since early 20s I have heard that comment. Evidently they had none of the guidance I did. It's scary.

At times I feel like I'm being a bit too subversive in my comments - a result of someone once telling me (paraphrased): "There's a lot of crap on TRP. You gotta stand up to the shit."

I don't know the book, unfortunately, but I fully support the rest. I think it's about accepting the realities as they are. I don't see the mechanics of this world as moral or amoral. Instead, I see facts. I may like or dislike those facts but I must live with them and find my way as best I can given those circumstances. Knowing that, I don't have too many issues in life (anymore), but I feel others do. And frequently. The truths seem too cold or heartless to register or be acceptible. I see tru…

Is it really about getting laid? I thought it was about sexual strategy. I don't disagree with your points per se but my sexual strategy isn't getting laid. I can get random pussy so easily it's fucking boring. I want a lasting relationship. And by lasting I mean: „as long as I can have steady sex and enjoy“. That's a sexual strategy too, and requires skills this sub – sadly – does not speak about nearly enough. The rest I agree on completey. It's about theory, about ideas that lead to result. I…

This. If you can impart a good impression, it will do wonders to both your mental state and the other person's (even if you don't care about them, why not make their day better?). Even if there's no sex at the end of it, you had a nice conversation. Outcome independence. It isn't really about getting laid every time. Realistically, most men will get turned down more often than not. If you're breaking even, you're on to something. But the point stands: just freaking talk and have fun. Enjoy engag…

I don't know about everyone but I find women are great at keeping tabs on events I know nothing about. Such as, fluffy 'social' stuff or current 'hot' topics. I don't really keep informed. I rely on them to give me a (admittedly, feminized) view of what's going on. They are social creatures. I am not. However misguided their way of expressing themselves is to most guys, I value that they can share information I would not know about. That way, I don't look like a complete idiot every time I do me…

I get what you're saying but I have trouble agreeing. I'm low T. Caused by physical defect. Sure, I have mental issues too, and those are related to biological issues – but not entirely. Low T is a result of physical defects and has led me to have a vastly different perception of life and women than most men will ever have. I can 'feel' things most men don't even know exist and 'understand' the supposedly incoherent logic of women in ways that most say is not possible. Admittedly, I've wondered …

Considering OC probably won't respond (hint, hint), I'll give it a shot. And yeah. That would be an interesting post. Note: do excuse if this gets 'feelsy' in logic. I have a hard time laying out my thoughts in linear narrative. Okay, I know one INTJ (probably) who is very similar to me in way of life experience with the main difference being 'thinking' vs 'feeling'. We've gone through roughly the same developmental phases (albeit a few years removed) and picked up many of the same facets of lif…

This is it and explained better than I did. Note: /u/piatti_rotanti - you may be interested in this too I believe if you are emphatic you can learn this pattern without actually needing the psychopathic traits. You need extremely good self-control and Machiavellian skill to not get stuck in their frame. The reason I say this is a friend of mine has adopted smth that resembles this mechanic and he shares no DT traits, just high empathy. He can't hold frame or get himself out if he slips up, becau…

Are you sure this is powertalk? To me, it sounds like emotionally laden posturetalk dressed up in a poor attempt to imitate actual powertalk. They are blind and ignorant to a fault. Hallmarks of a certain segment of society which speaks posturetalk. Also, they never rise to the top of the social hierarchy. They rise to the top of what they perceive to be the hierarchy. In fact, they gain no true power, just bits which are handed to them to make them believe they have risen. They are being used b…

How is frame not influenced by argument? You say: words are metaphors, shorthand for an image to be planted in the recipient's mind. String these together and you create a perspective. Every argument made is an attempt to underline a certain perspective. Thus every argument is a (often poor) attempt at a reframe. Just because these shifts are not drastic and do not necessarily have affect anything does not mean they are not taking place. Furthermore, one can hold two (or more) perspectives at th…

I just realized how true this is. Pack mentality is critical. I may have been outcast by society and torn loose from the mess that was my mother but my father made me part of his pack early on. I am still there - we are down to two wolves but I am that pack and will stay loyal to the day I die. Also, you sound a lot like my dad. Respect. We probably wouldn't get on in real life but I am glad to hear there's at least one guy out there who just 'got it' like dad did. Made all the difference in the…

Watch out with this one. My mother tried to teach me this way and I learned the hard way that people could be mean and would get what they wanted. It's horrible to realize, as a kid, that the lessons your parent(s) are teaching you are expected to believe in and internalize are a recipe to get your ass handed to you by your peers, but not be able to push back because your elder's word is law. You KNOW inside the lesson is wrong. But you have to nod and go along with it. Can you imagine how frust…

I'd argue we focus on the 'rules' a bit too much and not on why the rules were originally written that way. The result is people rely on the rules rather than learning to think on their feet, and miss chances they could have had - or get suck in avoidable situations. I can relate to the OP's story even though I share virtually nothing in common with him. The fact of the matter is weird stuff happens all the time - increasingly so the farther you move beyond the realm of social norms. If all you …

Sounds about right, though some folk seem have a greater tendency to pick up on it. I've seen far too many people not get how this principle works – as in, not even an inkling it's happening. So I dunno how direct experience and practice relates to ability. For example, during my internship, I learned in around a year or so and found myself able to 'speak' in various layers and languages about two years before I'd even found the ribbonfarm article. One of my fellow interns took about a year to r…

This is something I've noticed recently. I'm getting very close to where I want to be before I begin the next chapter in life and I am getting stuck more and more often. My productivity is down to shit because I didn't bother to take breaks and now I have a backlog + uncertainty in face of the unknown. I really wish I'd paced myself better in the past. But can't go back now. Just forward.

This made me laugh a bit too hard. I've said things to that effect (by accident, while being sarcastic) and the results can be anything from awkward to hilarious. In one case some poor chick got completely put on the spot when her boyfriend, who heard the whole compliment + something that sounded like: "well, I was just gonna ask if ya wanted to fuck, but that seemed a bit too forward...", broke out laughing and we ended up having a nice chat while she... pretended to not exist. I legit felt bad…

Think this is a situational misunderstanding. I could have replaced 'working' with 'reading a book'. It'd have the same effect based on the importance of what I was doing (none in the greater picture). The reason she came over at all was because I'd been soft dreading her all day. If anything, it was a comfort test but I screwed it up by going too far, hence the reframe.

It works very reliably once you eliminate the variables in your life that make you "inherently" emotionally and mentally unstable. Frame is not as flexible as you make it out to be. Unlikely to happen. I'm not about to kill myself anytime soon and no amount of therapy is going to undo the mess in my head. After 15 years, it's easier to just work around the problem than try to 'fix' it. Unless the medical community suddenly figures out how to rewire my brain and fix a few muck-ups in my biology, …

Of course. I tried to work it in but, frankly, the post was too long already. I couldn't fit it into the same thematic thread. And that's kinda the issue. What I was talking about isn't traditional game. It's a Dark Triad / manipulation thing. I'm high Mach mid Psych by nature and nurture so I see the way people work very differently than most readers (and most men in general; I more resemble a woman mentally than a man in that I can and often do run on emotional logic). Now, to elaborate on the…

Agreed. It really isn't the same thing. I may have not made that point clear enough. In my mind, Frame is just a way of saying "do they have their shit together?" and, gender is irrelevant as all biology determines is how shit has to be together. A man has his wall. A woman maneuvers around the wall. I'm not sure if calling both Frame is a good choice. A more apt description would be anti-frame. Or an inversion of frame. Or something to that affect. One thing I have to disagree on: there is a bo…

Think traditional TV / Movie drama. The 'southern European guy' getting in a huge fight with his girlfriend sorta thing. That's what it looks like from the outside. Practically however, it's much closer to gaslighting (I do in fact gaslight if I don't pay attention to what I say when pulling this one off). But it doesn't have to be a distortion of perception. You just have to change the feels. What you're doing is reading her emotional state (to do this effectively and in real time you have to h…

I think that sounds right. I'm not quite sure as it kinda happens without any input. My sense is just if I don't do this the situation gets uncomfortable and awkward, and I want to avoid that. So... yeah I think what you says sounds right. It's a push/pull and holding her emotional state in the "safe zone" where shit doesn't go sideways on me.

Let him burn. I will scrim my resources as need be. Get by some means, as most guys will. We may not be able to 'get by' alone but we can make ourselves valuable with the skills we have. Self-destruction is stupid and will serve no one. This, coming from someone who cannot provide for themselves, but knows they can be useful. Idiots will die first. We all know that.

That used to happen to me a lot. Eventually I realized I was doing something wrong. My conclusion is, when you reach that point, the right thing to do is flip back to comfort / amused mastery and turn the situation into emotional 'fun'. This will prevent the "I have to leave" responses and turn a dreadful episode into something far more agreeable. It helps if you can suppress the need to fix whatever is wrong, and the way to do that (IMO) is to realize: you've already fixed it. You solved her pr…

If you can't wrap your head around how dread works, then you're still stuck in a BP mentality. I've left girls for weeks on end if that's what my interests demanded. No negative effects, just a few shit tests and usually a comfort test. None of this dread is intentional. It tends to stem from me working on my game (the video game kind), wanting to hang out with a different crowd, or just being fucking tired of society and wanting to shut it out so I don't go into psycho mode. If she doesn't come…

Not the original commenter but, depending on how you work, there a few options. I'll portray the thee I've used below: Let the argument begin and then clam it down. That's a setup for potential dread, and probably the more masculine way to handle these thing (i.e. this is how Grampa did it). You're acknowledging she has an emotional need to 'speak' her mind, but then shutting down what will be a 'talk' that doesn't benefit you. As a result, you're playing a dominance card. If you don't fuck it u…

You may need to better level social pressure or weave more intricate verbal game. You may also be a bit too emotionally invested in what she's not doing (understandably, since it's your job, and failure on her behalf is frustrating). The issue I see here is you're using "male" logic to speak to a woman, who speaks emotional logic. You are missing what she is saying, and vice versa. If I had to wager a guess: you're imparting the objective necessity of a task on her, not the emotional necessity. …

Once you understand the patterns of social (especially office) dynamics then they become predictable. You learn what you can get away with, what you can't, and how you have to phrase replies to which type of co-worker / superior / employee to get the point you want to make across. Or whatever it is you are communicating, or trying to affect. Women are at heart more social animals than guys, though betas tend to be pretty socially influence too. I cant spin plates. I've tried. I just cant get emotionally invested enough in more than one person to get a boner. Hence its a bit of an effort in vain since, while I can hold interest, only one will be fuckable at any given time. My sex drive (and mentality in general) is extremely screwy. I act more female (though not necessarily feminine) than most guys. Like I said, emotions > logic. That was very informative. Thanks! As to what I do that's different, I play on emotions. I don't perceive the world quite as other do. Things that most men find annoying about women or complicateed don't register. I don't see men and women as opposed per se. But more as different sides of the same coin. Examples: spinning plates doesn't work for me. I require some sort of depth to be interested in someone; a LTR is the only way I can end up fucking anyone. And I can't focus and ONS or anything o…

I firmly believe we all go through similar processes. Some jump off the ship far earlier. Other ride it to the end. I definitely agree there are universal truths. But it's not the same for everyone (e.g. most of TRP's rules are useless due to who I am as a person). Still, the underlying truths hold true. Not that I advise people to go my route; like I did, I advise people to go for the common denominator and figure out what works from there. But the fact is - like you've said - we're all differe…

This is all too true - and something so many people fuck up with. You are always second. If you're lucky (cursed) enough to think this way yourself, you'll notice how weird the world gets. I really wish I could share my personal experience with a whole bunch of men because I think it exemplifies exactly this sort of rationale. But I don't think many guys would get it. Most men and many women do not speak what I consider to be 'emotionalese' (note: women with autistic tendencies don't speak it at all). It's the ability to overlook words and meaning, and perceive inferred context (from her point of view), and then respond in kind (on an emotional level). Wrong. Certain forms of DT can hold girls for years. Natural dread mixed with a little (faked?) compassion will secure far better than any alpha cue. It's not 'healthy' and leads to ever-escalating conflict but it will work. I can only imagine that someone who says such a thing has learned DT and isn't that way by nature (or nurture). Very true. One thing I've noticed: we all whine. I whine too. I have to; get it out once and let it be. Usually I announce it as such (I have to rant, don't listen if you don't want to). The issue is getting stuck in this. My life has been 'unfair'. All our lives have been 'unfair' somehow. It doesn't fucking matter because NO ONE cares. This may just be personal experience, but you don't so much need prayer as the guts to stand in the cold, harsh light of reality and stare the truth in the face. I don't know what that means for you (or anyone). For me, it was digging deep into who I really am and seeing just how far I can and will go, how badly I can actually hurt another person without risking my sanity. This is really good advice. I like her but in a friendly sort of way. I do not mind more happening but the true value is companionship. I would not want to jeapordize what we share (again) with my usual nature (male version of a drama queen). My interest is in making this as smooth and enjoyalble as I can. No response invokes dread and is applicable if it's a comfort test. Shit test responses (A&A, witty banter) otherwise. In your case, this sounds like a shit test. Out of the blue. No context. If it isn't a shit test, comfort when you next meet (you'll know if you need to; I hope). General rule: witty banter and amused mastery is almost always the safest route. I disagree. It reads: "I know we have different schedules, and I don't know what you're up to, so are you available?" If it's reasonable to assume she is available, you'll get a reply. You can then make a demand. Otherwise drop the conversation. It's common courtesy among those who value not being commanded around without at least a pretense of respect. You can get emotional sex (theoretically, and maybe practically) but that requires going deeper into emotional communication, getting really good at framing and reframing, 'relating deeply' to women in a non-beta way, playing their feels and hamster to your benefit, etc. It's not as simple as say X or do Y to produce Z. Could be you mucked the game... maybe. However, instinct tells me this is a mild DT woman at work, or at least someone with a better grasp of girl game than average. The fact you are worried what you're into suggests you're out of your depth; red flag. What you are seeing is typical to emotion 'game', flirty and too eager, all playful, but never commit. Its designed to fuck with your head and feels and drag you into her frame. There is probably smth she wants from you - a condition to her reward…

Frankly, the level of desperation suggested otherwise in this case as was related to a relationship. She'd been trying to cheat for weeks but couldn't find a Chad. Given the (rather complex) circumstances of this explanation, I'm inclined to trust it to be accurate within 2-3 weeks. Again, I don't say this is the norm. I'm just saying there's more variety to experience than we tend to talk about here.

I counter by saying: RP is amoral. Biology is amoral. "Good" and "Bad" are moral judgements and have no place in discussion of the original, abstract RP concepts, just on the specifics of individual cases (i.e. the lives of readers here and elsewhere). You can argue the anger phase never ends but it's not universally applicable. Some men will move past this. Others will remain there. That is up to the individual. RP does not mandate you must or must not be angry. To argue that is to assume all T…

Very true. Many men on this site are also very high SVM and don't even realize it. If you get more than one IOI a month, and can hold a LTR / plate for more than a few weeks / days, you are better than the vast majority of men. By a long shot. If any of that involves girls you find attractive and you can afford or need to next even a single option, you are around the top 5-10%. It's petty semantics, but I dislike the label slut. I kinda agree. What we refer to them as in real life depends on the individual, their vocabulary, etc. I personally don't often use the term slut but I still think of them as something similar. So I assume that, in abstract discussions such as these on TRP, the word 'slut' is just shorthand for my mental image of women. The negative connotation gets filtered out as I assume the poster meant to say 'thing which loooooves sex' as a concept rather…

Not quite. Don't think as she thinks. Feel as she feels. At least in theory. Lemme explain: The emotion of any given situation defines the thoughts and the internal narrative. This changes in real time and can lead to enormous jumps in logic as the variables that define a 'situation' change, which is why men (and other women) have trouble understanding women and view them as highly irrational. Most people don't realize there is no coherent train of thought, just situational glimpse of 'logic' st…

There are many ways of applying RP theory. There is the mainstream version we see most often. There are also subtler or softer options and countless flavors tailored to specific and individual situations. Every application is unique to the individual applying the RP framework and designing a personalized solution. That is a given. Still, I can't challenge the OP's point of view because I've seen this all, heard it all, done it all. In the case of certain female friends, I've heard them lay out t…

Barring rare cases, shit tests come all the time. Try not to look at the words or intent too much but instead ask: "In response, do I honestly feel better (or look better) if I jokingly tease?" If the answer is yes, it was a shit test. If no, it was something else (what it was varies; sometimes girls just speak normally too, though you wouldn't know that reading this sub). From me or anyone else. I have to say what I think aloud, directly, with no secondary message, for her to understand me. Which is weird (because I never do that with anyone else) and has resulted in some of the strangest conversations of my life. Thing is I can't apply RP theory to her at all. It doesn't add up. I me…

Not just this. Everything from approach through plating, LTRs... basically, everything to do with TRP depends on her selection at all times and in every situation. That's a fundamental building block of human socio-sexual dynamics. Women selects first, because she is the gateway to reproduction, then the man gets to decide whether he wants her. This process repeats. Over and over. Hence frame. Hence shit tests. This really can't be said often or loud enough.

Agreed. It's different angles. I wasn't clear in the initial statement. It seems I compartmentalize information differently, eg viewing 'cheating' and 'reputation' as entirely separate concepts. I can trust a cheater and I can mistrust someone who's never cheated. Thus the two don't correlate directly in my mind. As for whether cheating is an ideal course of action, well, most likely not. You misunderstand. Trust and loyalty is a completely separate topic. Protect your reputation with your life. It's one of the rules of power, and basic common sense IMO. I am not advocating we form relationships for the sole purpose of cheating. That's ridiculous. My point is this: if you are in a relationship for whatever reason, and you cheat (say, because you got drunk, but even if you do it deliberately), it isn't the end of the world. Provided your reputation isn't totally shot to begin with…

But what is the point to that honor? What real, tangible worth does it have? Maybe this is an upbringing and life experience thing but it seems pointless to me. It flies in the face of logic when the odds are stacked against you. Best way to succeed is to maximise odds. Widest net, best catch and all that. I follow. Didn't do very well explaining myself. Lemme try again: Why are we men investing that much? Why do we care? The issue isn't cheating itself, its in investing emotionally and physically in the relationship. If men, collectively, stopped doing that there would be way fewer complaints about cheating. But guys continue to act the same way and rail at the symptom, completely ignoring the cause and seeking fault in others, specifically in women. It's a recipe for unhappiness and isn't going …

It's definitely to save face, presumably the fact they are insecure. They don't care if we cheat. They only care that they might not be good enough for someone else. It's kinda weird at first glance but it adds up, IMO. And yeah. There's definitely no reason not to cheat. Society doesn't punish it. No one punishes it. There is no drawback beyond minor things like STDs or emotional baggage. Not saying every man should cheat, but everyone who wants to should. There's really no reason not to.

Some women will display comparatively honest behavior with little to no incentive, either due to upbringing or personal conviction that this is who they want to be. Only people who care about cheating are men. A woman might say she needs you to be faithful but that's actually a different message: she doesn't believe she can snag a higher SMV guy anytime soon. In practice, she will still let you cheat and gladly fuck you again, provided you can balance comfort and dread. Guys on the other hand will turn the whole thing into an ideological discussion. Your view of psych warfare is limited. Psych warfare is playing on a human's emotions, their base fears, hopes, and most of all: their social status and social 'power'. The more specific your victim is, the easier it is to break them. One example that comes to mind is a confrontation I had ~one year ago. Generally true but, as usual, there are exceptions to the generalities. Culture, personality, and upbringing play a large role in laying down what is acceptable, especially in public. Also take particular care when dealing with the (rather large IMO) subsection of introverts and socially awkward women. These are not outliers in my experience but a good 25% of the population. They often make up for their nature in private, especially when dealing with high-value men who are hard for them to attra…

Not the depression but how you handle it. Faulter and loose faith and you will dig yourself a mental grave. Keep believing in yourself despite the overwhelming emotional crush and you will come through fine. But like everything this is easier said than done. Handling any mental issue, including depression, is an aquired skill. It takes time, effort and practice to get good at it.

This is almost an essay on how I play social / LTR game. I have always wanted to see more discussion on these aspects of game on TRP. It's not something many people seem to talk about, especially in real life. I can barely find anyone who understands my approach, and the few that do fall apart at the idea of projecting power out of an inferior or insecure position; alternatively, they fail to see the benefit of compromising ones personal values when established methods fail catastrophically and …

Minor FR from today: since (as stated above) I don't get turned on easily, I decided on a challenge of 'tell me you want to get laid or we don't fuck'. Stupid game. Ended with no winner/looser - we still had sex but it was physically confrontational since she refused to just 'let' me - pride meant neither of us wanted to surrender so physical force was the only option. A challenge, even a stupid one like this, turned the whole act into a way more interesting game than usual. There was minimal va…

I do not see the flaw here either. Convincing a man who has good personal ambitions (whatever they are) to spend time with you is a considerable achievement as a woman. Those men motivated to do could do so on their own, without the external support, and they will not take just any old slut. It requires a certain type to stay at such a man's side - one who is willing to be feminine and reap the secondary rewards of their man's achievements because they believe it is worth it. That is how woman h…

Can only concur with this. A fuckbuddy-turned-acquaintance of mine was stuck in the male-mindset issue and the happiest I ever saw her was when I was around, assuming a dominant role - she was always crushed Monday mornings when she had to go back to work. I'm certain she wouldn't have suffered the life-destroying meltdown she recently did if she'd allowed a little more femininity in her life. I feel bad for her mostly because it's taken her so long to realize feminine is okay and even now she's…

Short of ass to mouth and a threesome I've gone through my list of forbidden fruit two years back. Was fun and but not worth a repeat unless the other side prompts; the idea alone offers no excitement anymore. Lack of fear, shame, and knowledge that I can handle the situation leaves me with no reason to break the "rules". Hell, I got a bigger kick from almost getting tear-gassed last month - something I would repeat. And if I have to risk running afoul of the system, it'll be for a cause I belie…

Lack of infatuation is still confusing to me. I keep seeing my girl getting glazed eyes or wanting to fuck so desperately and I keep thinking: "huh, that can really still happen?" It seems so impossible and I can’t quite figure out how an otherwise intelligent person can be so blind to the obvious truth. The cognitive dissonance going on all around me has been becoming glaringly obvious of late. And I’m just left scratching my head and shrugging in apathy. It's not so much depressing as... well,…

You're onto something about the onesitis and moving on. A well-adjusted man, or one listening to his instinct instead of BP conditioning, will always replace what is lost with something new – applies to women too, obviously. There may be emotions or feelings involved but gut instinct shows the way forward and it can be callously indifferent. I felt this first hand a little while back, when I "fell in love" for the first time in years. Despite the overwhelming emotional cocktail and attached emot…

You aren't alone. Maybe 20% of the people I know act along similar lines whether they want to or not. The large bulk falls into desiring a single partner however. The distribution seems to tend heavily toward single girl, frequent sex even among the BP crowd. I know very few with no regular desire for sex and a handful with high desire for multiple partners. One interesting thing I've noticed, being someone who is the polar opposite of you (less partners and less frequent is best), is that I get…

Can attest this from my experience with German men (and women) who are good friends of mine. Also to a similar but different extent with the Swiss (where I live). Aside from a very, very, select few cases I do not have the feeling that folk around here are even remotely aware of social cues. And if they are aware many will have no clue how to deal. Enough with the alpha/beta extremes. There are not just two strategies. They can be mixed, adapted, combined, etc. and may work just as well for a given individual. Execution and results, not the premise, is what matters. Also, alpha and beta have no fixed set of traits. They can vary wildly based on the individual and on context. We can generalize all we want. It just won't be an accurate picture of reality.

Agreed 100%. Not that TRP likes to hear it but this is my observation also. To illustrate I will use myself as it is the example I know best. Alpha 4 sounds like me + a few years of experience more. I cannot speak for others and their life experience but I have found our stereotype of alpha is a poor caricature. He may exist but I have never met him without serious mental issues to boot. Not that I'm in any way stable but we lift up one ideal and forget the rest. Many other men (RP and BP) I have known were alpha and interesting. But none were of such mythical quality, just interesting in their own way.

Agreed on all accounts. Nature vs nurture makes a huge difference (though, I do find girls care a wee bit more when it is in their interest, compared to what guys will give; makes sense as they gain far more from caring than a guy). They are actually terrible manipulators as they cannot detach emotion from the matter at hand. Admittedly, they are excellent at preying on emotions, but men can be this too after throwing out the traditional male role model. Very few women are actually aware of how others think and thus are unable to use this key knowledge to their advantage. Very true. Similar to how, if you want to succeed in a given work environment, you have to adopt at least the basic terminology, behavior, and conventions. Holds true for any social interaction, really. Our failing (one I fall prey to too) is trying to rate my actions on some imagined merit. It is not so much writing only strong male characters with a RP mindset. It is portraying them as desirable and fitting them naturally into the plot. Moreover, alpha/beta conflicts can be a powerful plot device, so having only one limits the scope of the story. Red Pill doesn't seem to have made much of a conscious effort to formalize this yet, instead repeating the old mantra of 'all men want sex'. While I agree this is shit from a RP perspective, to consider this a deliberate backstab is IMO naive. The behavior described is a defensive reaction. Back in my BP days I learned to go by the assumption: if it's completely random and doesn't jive with my internal narrative, it's probably female irrationality. It wasn't until I swallowed the red pill I learned the deeper meaning of these inconsistencies but it tends to be a solid rule to go by. That said, you can actually tease people too hard and turn playful fun into outright bullying. You gotta have a sense for that and the first step tends to be learning to trust your gut instinct, not you…

Maybe it's different here (and in different age groups) but in my experience the only ones that refuse to pay are the hopelessly vapid, CC riding sluts, or those that have been spit out and haven't learned from it. I have no interest in them, hence I ignore them. As for why the others pay, well, thinking back to my BP days the girls often refused to let me pay because it made them feel bad since they didn't have the same means I did. Goes against everything TRP teaches us but I'm sure there's so…

Niche (or league) mentality is detrimental to unplugging, since it limits your options from the get go. You can easily dismiss every failure as not being "in your niche" and that's just a buffer to the lessons & practice gained from cold, hard rejection (which could have any number of factors). Ergo: worrying about failure rates is a clear sign you're not fully unplugged. You lack outcome independence and are considering every encounter that does not result in "success" a "failure" rather than (…

I think many of us know the anger and frustration. Some of us even act it out. What I don't think most of us realize is: those people who lived out their party years, rode the CC, or whichever ones we resent? Barring a few exceptions, they feel it too, just differently. No one really has it worked out, guys and girls. There are just those who have worked harder on themselves than others. It might even be easier for those of us who were socially outcast because we are used to trying so damn hard …

Speaking from the polar opposite position (extremely passionate about writing), I can - and this may sound odd at first but bear with me - relate. See, in between my bouts of insane dedication to unpaid work which may or may not pay off in the long run, I end up wondering what the hell I'm even doing with life. I find existence boring. I question and philosophize and overanalyze everything. Why? I have no reason to worry. I have a safety net. I have funds saved up and a legit degree which can ge…

LTRs require slightly different game. I've seen posts about this across the manosphere (can't find any ATM) but it isn't much of a focus for guys just getting into RP. Most guys won't have the problem since they have moral standards and are not naturally alpha. If you lack the standards or are a natural, you'll blow straight past the 'keeping in check' and go right to 'way too unpredictable'. The problem is that, while dread and indifference amplifies attraction, too much applied the wrong way t…

I concur with the manipulation. Though, at least in my experience, they seldom attack alpha sides of their victim unless they are 100% certain they can get away with it - even then they'll prefer to stick to beta shaming of some form. I presume this is to avoid escalation direct confrontation by avoiding aggravation and instead pulling the victim down to a playing field they might win on.

I can't speak for the original poster but I'm in a similar position and just categorically refuse to do anything with anyone who might want me to pay unduly (e.g. more than a beer here or there). Limits my options, sure, but there are more than enough fish who are willing to reciprocate out of common decency.

I can only agree with this post, but would like to expand slightly. It isn't just single mothers raising thoroughly feminized guys that leads to damage – that is one extreme. A whole slew of guys are raised with some bastardized purple pill mentality that is just as bad as a pure 'backwards' upbringing. What I'm talking about is: internalized RP world view born out of respect for a traditional but often absent father disillusioned by divorce and by observing friends and girlfriends run the same …

I'd just like to say how true this is. I am similar yet opposite in many ways - raised to be a "good guy" by well-meaning parents but intuitively learned the opposite. Except I believed I really was a "white knight" style good guy, while actively doing the opposite. TRP has (after finally realizing I was comically missing the point of RP truths in myself) opened my eyes to what I am capable of. For me this is best expressed as: somewhere around once a month someone - most often a guy but girls f…
