| -5 | Another Perspective on the Wage GapYou need to compare the exact same position and experience. No, you don't. You certainly could, but you'd just be splitting hairs . There's no meaningful distinction between your "earnings gap" label and the "wage gap" discussion. I can compare my own wage to someone below me, regardless of gender, and notice that his wage is unfairly low compared to mine. There are numerous factors that come into play, and the position is only one of them. In large companies, you might even see some employees m… | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 08:08 AM |

Of course, part of what contributes to the gap is that women make up a third or less of the jobs, contributing to less experience for higher level positions. Ultimately, most superiors with higher-paid salaries end up being men. There are plenty of women who would love those higher paying jobs, but they're not available, because men already have them. | 2 | Another Perspective on the Wage GapKey phrase is "when you compare." The wage gap isn't a lie. It exists, and it's fair. Our position is that there should be a wage gap. All the bullshitters acting like it doesn't exist are just confusing the argument. Feminists are probably right to call us out when we say shit like "the wage gap doesn't exist" because it's empirically proven that it does. We should be telling them WHY it exists, and explaining that it's completely warranted. Denying the wage gap entirely is just trolling. | /r/PussyPassDenied | 13/04/17 06:20 AM |
