Ok, we are getting closer. Actually I do think that the laws are wrong, they should be based only on consent. If a 13 year old wants to bang with a 17 year old why should the state meddle in this? If the 13 year old bangs with a 70 year old there was very likely a lack of consent. Well in large parts of Europe the age of consent is 14. And even under completely retarded law in Florida it's not rape, it's statutory rape.

Sending a man to prison for having sex with a consenting 14 year old is equally wrong. I don't know where you live physically and mentally, but many 14 year old boys are no children any more and many girls neither. I just read that in Florida, where this happened, the age of consent is 18. Wow, this is pretty fucked up. According to google the guy fucked with her because he wanted, so no rape at all.
