Really depends on the scenario. I think it’s for sure a red flag when a partner wants to go out and party without you on a regular (3x a week) basis. If my boyfriend wants to go out for his friend’s birthday and it’s a man thing, and it’s the first time he’s gone out in 6 weeks-3 months or whatever, hey it’s fine to me. Just like if I am home most of the time but my girlfriends every once in awhile want to have a girls night and go sit at a nice bar, thats fine. If a partner has a desire to chea…

I established a boundary from the very beginning that I believe someone’s phone is absolutely private like a diary. In my relationship it is 100% not allowed for myself or my boyfriend to ask to go through the phone. If I suspected him of anything, I would just have to rely on the info I have but wouldn’t go through his phone to confirm. Once the trust is broken it just is. People can delete texts, apps, history etc so if they are smart and not lazy they would do that anyway. So many of us text …

Commitment actually supersedes “want”. It’s the difference between wanting to work out everyday and having the discipline to do it every day. Being truly committed to one person for your entire adult life, that discipline as much as love. I just think one can objectively admit that marriage is a big commitment and that all people feel the weight of that at some point and even laments it, privately. I’ve heard plenty of wives say something with feminine energy but a similar sentiment. For example…

Yeah but you are giving up other options. That’s what commitment means. Just because you haven’t had to say NO to yourself yet doesn’t mean it isn’t around the corner. Your commitment is nothing if you aren’t actually sacrificing for it.

I think it’s pretty audacious to assume you won’t one day experience the same emotions he’s describing. The grass is greener thing is rampant in every relationship. Even as a mother you have days where you say “….but what if”….as a lover, as a sister and as a friend. I don’t think he’s saying anything wrong, it’s just brutal honesty that we all hate to admit. There are going to be days you wish you had something different because all humans do this. We all day dream and imagine a different life …

I felt the exact same way. She was incredibly self absorbed the entire article. It sounds like he tried to get away from her and if he does think of her, it’s not fondly. She invaded his privacy so many times sending intimate letters to his house, unwarranted? Imagine if it were switched genders. This would be a stalking case not some romantic tragedy.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
