Dude Wipes succeed mainly because they don't leave you smelling like baby wipes. Backpacking in scarce water areas, it's often necessary to at least wipe down the sweatiest areas with something, and smelling like my kids' diaper bag in pristine wilderness isn't appealing at all.

Yup. Just thinking through all the people I know with a PhD, JD, DDiv or MD, and the only ones who want to be called doctor outside of a professional setting are the English PhD and the Ed.D. Math, physics, microbiology, genetics, law, medicine, psychology, aerospace engineering, (and a master's in astronomy, because just being a rocket scientist wasn't enough) and you'd never know any of them have the degree unless it comes up normally in a conversation.

Working front security at one company, the guard I was relieving told me they'd hired a tranny since I worked there last. I do this with my everyday socks, but rotate colors every now and then so it's easier to catch the old ones still hanging around. Black for a while, then buy 2-3 bulk packs of gray in a row, then back to black. White for running socks, since I wear much taller socks with my work boots. No more digging for a matching sock.

One of the instructors was in a coma for three days because a 13 year old girl I could pick up with one hand surprised him with a foot sweep, dropped him backward while he was expecting a forward fall, and slammed his head on the edge of the mat. I'll throw in that, in most martial arts, grabbing someone's arm with both hands like that is pretty much begging to take a bite of the floor. It's one of the attacks white belts start out learning to deal with, partly because it's such a dumb, ineffective move, but instinctive for a lot of untrained people.

So he gets a judgment for whatever part of that the court will go for, gets a collection agency to be obnoxious for a while, then writes off the debt and reports it to the IRS: he gets to claim the loss and she suddenly owes taxes on millions.
