100% Sometimes people take a while to show you who they really are. Scumbags are gonna scumbag, even if they say they’re a “nice guy.”

Most of my accomplishments and achievements have some financial component to them so I’d prefer that my future husband didn’t associate them with my value as a partner. It would cheapen the whole thing for me.

That face is terrifying. Her smile reminds me of that creepy one in Truth or Dare. Might want to work on dialing back the crazy.

I’d suggest setting an appointment for 4. :)

True story bro, self reflection’s hard for some.

Porn doesn’t bother me because I see sex and masturbation as two different kinds of activities. One is about intimacy, the other is about self care. I respect my BF enough to not be threatened by him taking care of himself if the mood strikes. If he wants to watch porn while he does, so be it. Kinda seems odd to restrict where someone’s mind is allowed to go. If he only thought about me when he was beating it, I’d wonder why he didn’t just come down the hall and lay it down. LOL Snacks are fine …

If the shoe was on the other foot, I would have walked too. Good call. You’re in different places in life and even if she took you up on your offer, that whole thing doesn’t bode well for long term success.

It’s not selfish, IMO. People are allowed to set boundaries around the kinds of relationships they want to develop, regardless of gender. I’m sure it wouldn’t feel great to be rejected, but she’ll move on.

I’m not sure if I agree or not. There definitely are guys who fit this to a T, but I don’t think it’s all of them. They definitely seek out the ideal scenario but I have to hope that once they find their partner that their love blossoms into something more mature. It’s just depressing otherwise. Maybe I’m just idealistic though.

I started watching “Too Hot to Handle” on Netflix today and good god... It’s like one big example of the stereotypes we all talk about. This thing is a train wreck that I can’t look away from.

LMAO, definitely. “Alright dear, here’s the scrum board. What do you think we can get done this week? No slouching on the big ticket items either! That pussy eating story’s been on the board for an awfully long time...”

I’m not jealous but the whole persona seems disingenuous. Truth be told, it seems like a FANTASTIC way to trick someone into marrying you. Not saying that all of them are trying to trap a guy but if that was what I wanted to do, it would be an easy way to do it. Step 1 - Say/do all the things they want to hear/see to convince them that you’re marriage material Step 2 - Get married Step 3 - Drop the facade and show your true self Step 4 - ???? Step 5 - Profit To all the Pickmeisha’s out there, go…

This reminds me of Demolition Man. The it place to take women on dates is Taco Bell and no one has physical sex. People seemed to be happy then. :)

This is what I hoped to hear. I figured that there would be a mix of moms that set a great example for what a wife/girlfriend/mom could be and moms who completely shit the bed.

Uhhh, wut? o.0 Of course women can enjoy sex. The guy has to be willing to learn what that woman likes, but it’s definitely possible. To be fair, women need to learn what their man likes too. That’s just the golden rule. The times that I haven’t enjoyed were because I wasn’t in the right headspace to enjoy it or there was half-ass foreplay before a brief period of missionary jack rabbiting. TL;DR - your lady will enjoy sex if you let her teach you a few basic moves and don’t force her to fuck yo…

Not to be a Debbie downer but about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Studies have found that breast reconstruction (aka implants) can have a positive impact on some BC survivors’ psychological well being. It doesn’t explain nose jobs and lipo, but it was worth mentioning. :)

I read the second scenario as if the girl slept with 50-100 guys that were in the man’s social circle at first. o.0 My reaction was holy shit, that’s a lot of friends, then holy shit, that’s a lot of dick!

1.) She watched too much HGTV, then decided to marry a fixer-upper. Yeah, I know, I couldn’t help myself. Some women will meet a guy who has some of the traits they’re looking for but not all. The plan is that she’ll be able to convince him to change what she doesn’t like, but that rarely ever happens. Eventually she’ll get tired of looking across the dinner table at the physical manifestation of her failed plan and decide to leave him for someone who doesn’t have that trait. Most of the time th…

The only time my friends would speak up would be if one of us was with someone who had a serious character flaw. We’re into different kinds of guys so as long as they’re respectful, we’re good. Edit: I kinda missed the important part. A friend’s opinion might influence me, it depends on what they’re worried about. I had a friend who told me my BF had a problem with strong women and she was worried he would get emotionally manipulative/drive us apart. Spoiler: he didn’t have a problem with strong…

Depends on the people in them. I agree with you on the general ease of ending them, but it’s pretty easy to end a marriage these days too.

Partners may share some of those standards, but rarely do two people share the exact same views 100% of the time. Communicate what your needs/wants/standards/whatever else are to your partner. Encourage your partner to do the same for you. Provided you’ve been clear and avoided the double speak that most of us are prone to, you both should be able to come to an agreement. This doesn’t mean that the entire laundry list will be agreed to. It comes down to how much something means to you. If there’…

Long term relationship

That is not respectful behavior. I was going to chalk it up to your relationship dynamic until I read the part about him changing her name in his phone. If you have been clear about your needs and concerns and he’s still choosing to make you uncomfortable, then it’s up to you to decide what the consequences will be. I’m not a fan of ultimatums. Tell him what you need and if he chooses not to meet that need or come to a mutual compromise, then the ball is in your court.

Realistically, it’s not important. Most women don’t have a problem with average sized men.

Eh, it’s not ideal but it’s also not shitty. It also depends on when you get together. If you’re talking less than a week, then it’s suspect.

It depends, is the kid’s mom alive? If so, then no. Everyone loves to talk about dead beat dads but crazy baby mommas are just as bad. They’re a package deal. She’s not ever going away...

You’re allowed to like what you like. Proceed with caution either way. Crazy knows no age range. :)

Realistically, that’s the ideal scenario if that’s your target age bracket; provided they didn’t do the usual 7 year itch thing or something else skeevy. They have shown that they’re interested in commitment and hopefully they’ve learned what does and doesn’t work for them.

Sex was about pleasing someone else and enjoying the subsequent power trip/attention when I first started having sex. I figured out pretty quickly that I didn’t get a whole lot out of casual sex, with or without an orgasm so I stopped. Then came relationship sex, which taught me a few different things. Sex is so much better with someone who actually loves you and cares about pleasing you. A confident partner is much more appealing than an insecure one. Sex is an important part of a relationship,…

Oh yeah, all the time. Pity may not be the best word for it, but I definitely feel bad for anyone dating now. I have been lucky enough to avoid online dating for the most part. I had one brief stint about a year ago, but I got super lucky and met my boyfriend pretty quickly. I can only imagine the horror stories I would have picked up along the way if I hadn’t. People are cruel to each other these days.

Yeah, or the ones who have such shitty self-esteem that they think no one could ever love them, sex aside. I’d be more concerned about being able to establish a healthy form of emotional intimacy and expectations about what a partnership looks like. If you spend 30 years thinking that your perfect relationship is supposed to look a certain way only to find out you’re wrong, that’s a hard lesson for both people.

That’s a fair counterpoint, I think I used to say 25 but it’s been a while. I don’t know that I would say far more likely. Either way, the immature/impulsive 30 year olds are much easier to spot. :)

If they make it to 24 weeks (currently the latest timeframe you can have an abortion in the US) without so much as an inkling that something’s afoot, that’s nuts.

My jaw dropped when I realized that a guy wrote this. It’s a bit harsh but true. People of substance expect the same thing from their partners.

I’m not advocating for riding the CC by any means, but I wonder about the headspace of someone who makes it to 30 with no/next to no sexual partners. I’ll preface this with the usual “not all women” disclaimer, but someone who makes it to 30+ has probably not been in any LTR’s. If that’s the case, it stands to reason that there are some red flags that sent previous guys packing. This reminds me of a friend of mine. Her count is very low, she’s got a great career, she’s pretty, in great shape, a …

Depends on what makes you average and what improvements you’re making. I’ve always dated older guys because they tend to be more stable and know who they are. Most 30 year guys aren’t going to come home with a face tattoo and some harebrained plan to trek across the country as a life coach, lol. Younger women tend to have a different perspective on what’s important too. It may be shitty to say it this way, but the bar is lower. When I was 19, I wasn’t looking for a CEO, I was happy with someone …

Nine times out of ten, that behavior is bullshit. Plenty of women (and men) are scumbags and leave because they think the grass is greener. They’re usually wrong too, which is a great example of karma. Even when you flip that switch with good cause (abuse, negligence, major violations of trust), it’s usually a front. I flipped mine at the end of my last relationship, but it was for my own sanity. My ex was hiding financial things from me and mishandling my money. When I confronted him he got ver…
