what's stopping a couple from being a financially secure social unit and raising children without being married? That's insulting to suggest because I know some excellent parents who never got married and they have a very secure and healthy family life. I'm completely baffled as to what you think marriage actually adds, I mean you can be a stay at home mom without marriage, I know women who are.

It's not that most women go in to marriage with the intention of divorcing him for his money. It's that they tend to choose men who make more than they do as a kind of security should something go wrong. It's a plain obvious fact women strongly prefer to marry "up". I'm not in favor of marriage full stop. It's mostly women who are gold diggers. Men tend not to care how wealthy a woman is. Women use marriage as a weapon to get men's money and security and it has to stop in this day and age when we should all be treated fairly. I think a lot of feminist presume there are no down sides to being a man. They believe so strongly in the idea of patriarchy that they think only women face gender discrimination. So when they see the Mens Rights movement, they automatically think to themselves that we want to take away rights for women. It's funny because universities are meant to be these progressive places but when it comes to Islam all of sudden they are all "oh no, we can't offend their culture..." If it's white males being sexist it's wrong, but when it's brown people it's not so obviously as wrong.
