I agree its unfair but in the case of an abortion there is no child so there's no financial burden on the social system. But if there is a child there is a financial burden, so where does the money come from? The legal system says the other parent, even if that's not always fair. The only alternative I could see is if instead we used taxes to fund that burden, but then is that fair to people who choose not to have kids or people that are in already stable financial situations? What if instead of child support there was a tax on procreation paid for by all parents to fund these social programs? I think child support has bigger issues than just the fact that men have no reproductive rights. It incentives dysfunctional families since a woman can get more money if they can cut the man out of the child's life.
