Challenge accepted. No point in dicking around with only 2 drinks per week. I'll just cut it off for the rest of the month.

I got results from my assessment. I got 3 pounds fatter, and no muscle mass gain, so I'm going back to my previous program (Active Trax), except I'll will incorporate some of the 5x5 lifts into it using the max lifts I've established in the last 1.5 months. The real issues is I wasn't controlling my diet enough. I did well on protein intake, but too much fat and carbs.

OYS #04 STATS: 36y | 165 lbs | 19%BF (using a home Renpho scale) | 5’8” | married 6 years together for 7.5 | Wife is similar in age. Two kids older than 3 and less than 7 | Been at this since July, 2019. Lifts: Been doing the 5x5 for about 2 weeks now. I have only found my failure point for Bench Press and OH Press so far. Squat – 145 Bench Press – 130 Barbel Row – 135 OH Press – 85 Deadlift – 185 I’m at failure in around 5 reps with the bench press and OH press at the current weight. I expect t…

OYS #03 STATS: 36y | 165 lbs | 21%BF | married 6 years together for 7.5 | Wife is similar in age. Two kids older than 3 and less than 7 | Been at this since July when I really leaned into the MRP. Lifts: This week I have started the StrongLift 5x5 program and am going to nix my previous program that didn’t require as many compound lifts. Since I’m impatient as fuck, I could not start at half my estimated max rep, but figured I’ll be at max in the next few weeks. I’ve been sick all week and my gy…

Yep will re-read BPP's post, but more importantly the book. I'm not interested in replacing her right now and you are right. I'm impatient as fuck and cannot get the things I think I deserve from her out of my head. Shit is driving me insane.

All good comments. Rather than just try and change my own mind, which has been unproductive, I need some activities that retrain my "buggy brain" to not place validation in others hands. I'm impatient and this is moving too slow. But based on a conversation we had this morning, I'm thinking I need to flip a switch and overtly do things that I know she will whine about. Or is that just going Rambo? Basically, just start asking for anything I want even if I know she will whine about it. The dads g…

OYS #02 STATS: 36y | 165 lbs | 21%BF | married 6 years together for 7.5 | Wife is similar in age. Two kids older than 3 and less than 7 | Been at this since July when I really leaned into the MRP. Lifts: I currently have very infrequent check-ins with a trainer. We basically calculate max lifts using machines, put it into a profile/app that generates workouts using free-weights, and it slowly increases the weight based on performance. It does not incorporate DL, but my plan is to incorporate mor…

OYS #01 STATS: 36y, 165 lbs, 21%BF, married 6 years together for 7. Wife is same age. Kids 3 & 5. Lifts: They all suck. I’ve been going to gym to lift regularly for the last 3-4 months. Started out earlier this year 10 pounds heavier with the goal of cutting calories and losing weight. I got down to 162 a few weeks ago and decided I needed to increase calories with a protein heavy diet to focus on building muscle. I’ve been going to gym consistently 4 times a week for the past 3 months. Finally …

Watching the BPP videos “cover to cover” + the Rational Male really solidified and pushed me over the edge. Been lifting, reading, and working the MAP ever since.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
