The point of an opener is just to get in conversation with the woman. It really doesn't matter what you say... I mean you are approaching the girl for romantic reasons... And the only thing you know about her is that she is attractive enough to make it want to talk to her. So it makes sense... And can be very effective on the right girl or in the right context. Also it's the way you say the words too... Most of the seduction will occur non verbally

I think you are taking this out of context. The situation here is when a person (man or woman) has romantic interest in another person but the feeling is unrequited.
