It’s the entitlement of her time and attention that gets me. Just automatically assumes he should be her top priority. I can’t even articulate myself well, I’m so fired up by this one.

A man who truly wants to marry me, knows how to propose. These are conversations to be had long before a ring is purchased. My BFF’s husband had a surprise public proposal planned and asked me to go with him to pick out the ring and I told him she’d hate that proposal, so he planned a different, perfect proposal for her. She loved it!

For real! “I’m not your personal sex toy AND your ATM! Now get back to fanning me with palm fronds and feeding me grapes!”

Wow, I used the word scapegoat today when talking to my mom and it’s not a word I use often, so your comment was like a little sprinkle of confirmation that I did the right thing! Thank you!

”If you're offended by my boundaries, then you're probably one of the reasons I need them.”-Steve Maraboli✨💖🔥🙌

Yep, I just had that experience with my own mother and she tried to light me up over text and I refused to engage. Holy moley, now that my eyes are open, I see how much toxicity I was exposed to my entire life and then taught to believe it was normal. Now that I’ve seen the light and started the work to repair all that damage, she is freaking out. Oh well.

It’s not just men! A lot of people who have inner work to do are offended when you state your terms/set boundaries. “You don’t have to agree to my terms, but these are the requirements for access to me.” End of story.

Haha! I saw something yesterday that would’ve been the perfect reply: “I’m not sucking dick on a vacation I paid half for. I lost all my energy reaching in my wallet. Sorry.” Sorry not sorry, I say 🤷🏼‍♀️

This was a letter written into Slate.com’s Dear Prudence a few years ago and Emily Yoffe lit into him with her witty reply. I’ve read it multiple times because it brings me joy. Ya love to see it. Here is the response from 2011: “Dear Outgunned, Next time you consider swinging, choose your new partners more carefully. You’re looking for an advertisement that says something like, “She’s svelte, stacked, and sexy. He’s fat, bald, hung like a gnat, and suffering from erectile dysfunction.” How swee…

It makes me so happy when someone posts about something that they are excited about! Thank you for sharing your joy with us! I am cautiously optimistic for you and hope this continues on this path!

The more I read and hear stories like this, the sadder I get. Is he trying to make you jealous?? If a guy I was on a date with told me something like that, without my prompting, my response would be so snarky. Along the lines of “didn’t ask,” or “give me a minute to find the person who asked you.” Isn’t plate spinning the assumption in early dating? I have always taken a Don’t Ask; Don’t Tell approach. If they ask, I’ll answer respectfully and politely, and I hope I receive the same courtesy.

Ex-boyfriend, is that you? Ugh, for a couple minutes I was convinced my ex wrote that.

I love this! It makes me so happy to see women discovering and relishing in their self worth and self love! I spent a fortune on my recent hair salon visit and was telling a friend about it. I spent more than I was originally comfortable with, but then I said “I deserve it.” And it hit me that I meant it. I work hard, and I have the money to spend and pretty hair makes me feel good. So why not? Good for you for taking piano lessons, too! I know a lot of adult women who are too embarrassed to lea…

First of all, thank you for reminding me of the word “nards”. I haven’t heard it in years, and I kind of think it’s time to bring it back. Also, I couldn’t agree more! I set time limits with my friends when we’re talking about men. I was driving with one of my best friends and I said “once we get off the freeway, we’re changing the subject.” And she agreed. We are smart, ambitious women and we have plenty to talk about. I like the “don’t give them free rent in your head” thought process.

I felt a lot of this in my soul. I’ve gone through a ton of internal work to recognize my value and finally love myself. I saw a lot of myself in this post and it brought me to tears! The hardest part for me has been being ok with not being perfect, even during this transformation period. Check you out! I hope you are proud of how far you’ve come and how hard you’ve worked to get to this place! I’m so happy you’re here and doing this too!
