That’s true, but I see the quote more as a warning/cautionary tale of what not to do… too many pick me’s in particular out there supporting and lifting up toxic/abusive dudes

Ah, it sounds more like he wanted to play the role of ‘Prince Charming’ to a ‘damsel in distress’, ie. a damaged woman. 😕

I think he meant “tissue blotting”, meaning he requires her to wash her vagina rather than just blotting it with tissues? 😑

…and men have no problem blaming women too; “well why do you choose the wrong men?” there must be a reason why you attract shitty men” 🤡

…and we’re often exiting the relationship way worse than when we entered. Why is this so true? I have left all my relationships with men worse off then when I entered. They drain you, hurt you, and suck the life out of you for the most part.

Yes, I heard that Muslim or Indian men will have no problem dating/fucking a western white girl, but when it comes to marriage… nope. Their parents are often the ones who ultimately decide who they will marry; often a nice, meek, submissive, virginal young Muslim/Indian girl. That’s why I will no longer date Muslim or Indian men.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/06/21 02:12 PM

Even then, not usually. A lot of older married men tend to get fat and let themselves go (at least most of the ones I’ve seen/known here in the US)

Ya, block, delete, and ignore are brutal? and, older women are generally not more “polite”, as stated below; in fact, they are often more firm with their boundaries.

Yes, it’s so fucked up and selfish; they don’t care who they hurt or destroy, as long as they get laid.

it’s ok. and yes, I can admit that my boundaries weren’t the strongest. but again, abusers and narcissists are very smart, charming and manipulative, and if you aren’t educated on them/the signs and the abuse cycle, it’s easy to fall prey to one of them. (Edit) and once you’re already in the abuse cycle, trauma bonding is a thing, which you are essentially chemically addicted to them, the highs and lows, the good and the awful)

no need to be snippy. so…low intelligence (ie. dumb), ignorant, or mentally/emotionally unhealthy? Again, not always true… I just found your original statement “low intelligence makes people susceptible to abuse and accepting shitty non-friends, that’s an unfortunate fact” somewhat offensive, being an abuse survivor myself. Edit: ok, I can accept that somewhat, but again, most people aren’t really knowledgeable about the abuse cycle or signs of abusers/narcissists in the beginning of a relations…

Oh, I thought the author was more pointing out the hypocrisy of male and female appetites? Yes, and wasn’t it first his theory that mental illness/hysteria in women was a result of sexual abuse in childhood, but his male colleagues pressured him to change his theory (as many of them were pedophiles and were molesting their daughters/female family members themselves)?

I am also asking us as a community not to be too quick to condemn other women. you’re talking about divorce court then? I don’t care, as someone who was molested by a family member while my mom looked the other way and didn’t believe me, I don’t fucking care what their reasons are. Yes, and I think it’s interesting how in Judaism (which predates Christianity of course) there is the story of Lilith; “Whereas Eve was created from Adam’s rib (Genesis 2:22), some accounts hold that Lilith was the woman implied in Genesis 1:27 and was made from the same soil as Adam. Insolently refusing to be subservient to her husband, Lilith left Adam and the perfection of the Garden of Eden” -Britannica But of course there is no mention of this in Christianity/the Bible. Yeah, I saw them too :/ The pics were floating around everywhere the first day or so after the case broke. nah, I’ve literally had a similar interaction online with someone; an MRA who said he started crying because I said I didn’t like the look of uncircumcised penises (he was circumcised tho?) and ranted in my DM’s about how traumatizing circumcision is, how he feels a part of him is missing, etc. etc..., dudes definitely do this and get over emotional over their foreskins lol

I’ve experienced 4 of these... forced sexual acts against your will (rape), surprise anal penetration during intercourse without consent, he didn’t stop sexual intercourse when you asked him to stop one or more times, any form of violence aimed at hurting you physically... or, it’s also common for the cops to be called, but the guy acts calm, cool, and reasonable as soon as they show up, while the woman who was just assaulted is (obviously) often acting ‘hysterical’; the dude uses this to his defense, saying she’s “crazy”, overreacting, etc., hence, the cops leave without him being arrested/charged. Happens way too often.

the problem is that they want all the unsafe, STD riddled sex while in a LTR or partnership. and they also want to use their partner as an emotional punching bag for their unresolved mental health issues. Yep, this is basically it. They want to have their cake and eat it too. They want a substitute mommy, maid, therapist, while also being able to bang young hot chicks on the side/DL; I feel like that’s every mans’ secret dream/goal. I’ve known so many men like this.

I agree with the other commenter, in that you may not be as good of a judge of character as you think. Not all women branch swing, that’s ridiculous. In fact, 2 men I’ve dated have done this to me (is this another word for ‘rebound’?) Had another woman already lined up or went back to an ex. Me, on the hand, I’ve been single for over 2 years after last breakup. I think it may have something to do with the women that you surround yourself with.

Because believe it or not, a lot of men are still fairly traditional; they prefer the thrill of the chase, competition, etc. I’ve asked guys out before, but it generally doesn’t last long term, as he didn’t really get to chase/pursue you; he already knew he won from the get-go. just been my experience...

Ok? I read that article, and the survey conducted is very problematic, as the article points out. that there is a difference between engaging in stupid acts when mildly intoxicated, and being incapacitated while drunk and forcibly raped. It’s sad that the patriarchy/men have basically trained us to be grateful for the bare minimum... so many men are abusive (whether emotionally, verbally, physically, sexually..), manipulative, gaslighting, narcissistic, etc... that when we finally meet a normal man, it can seem great and shocking even. (It’s also sad that I’ve heard a few family members say “well, at least he doesn’t hit me”). The bar is so low.

Men/lib fems want us to believe that hookup culture/casual sex is “empowering” for women lol. It’s not empowering to be degraded and used as a sex object. Yes, but just as my experience as a woman, most of the women I know have either been sexually assaulted or raped, so I do believe the numbers are way underreported, and yes the numbers are underreported for men too. It’s shameful and a thing people don’t like to talk about. Thank you, I’m sorry you went through that too. Yes, I was sexually assaulted as a child too, it really is an underreported epidemic I believe.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/21 02:37 PM

Ok, also I believe your statistics are on reported (or convicted) rapes? when statistics show that 1 in 6 women will be raped, that’s 16%, as a lot of rapes go unreported, and most unconvicted. And I believe I meant rape for the 22%. Ok, I’ve been raped twice? not sexual assault. And both were unreported. So I’m sure they’re not factored into your numbers/statistics.

The fact still remains that it is the man who is being violent, and the woman is the victim here. Why are you/men blaming the woman, rather than the man? yes, there are often red flags, which women unfortunately usually learn to spot after they’ve been in an abusive/toxic relationship. For instance, I was younger and naive and didn’t know what “love bombing” was, and how it’s often a red flag of an abusive person/relationship. But now I know.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/01/21 01:29 PM
2

Yes, I’m aware the risk is lower by strangers. Wow, cool victim blaming. So you’re blaming women for choosing the wrong partner, rather than the violent men? I guess you know nothing about abusive relationships and how they work; how the man just doesn’t punch you in the mouth right when you first meet him. Abusers are often charming, sweet, loving, etc. at first. I bet you don’t know anything about trauma-bonding, and the cycle of abuse (obviously). Unreal.

Cool, so we’re both at risk of being murdered. Is it a contest? Fine then. Women are more likely to be raped (1 in 5 and 1 in 33 men). 9 out of 10 rape victims are female. https://www.rainn.org/statistics/scope-problem

yep. It’s usually always violent, disrespectful, or objectifying, and even if it’s not, it’s completely unsatisfying. I’ve never once came from sex with a man. Not worth it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/01/21 09:50 AM

I’m ashamed of the way I’ve lowered and debased myself for a man in the past. No more. If you have to beg to be treated with basic respect in a relationship, it’s time to leave.

I think you need to trust your gut a little more. For instance, not to be a creep, but if a guy calls you a c*nt and is rough in bed without your consent, those should be dealbreakers/red flags. I deal with CPSTD too and have a history of abusive relationships, so it can be hard for us to see when someone’s overstepping our boundaries or being disrespectful sometimes, or we tend to give them the benefit of the doubt too much. Just keep educating yourself on boundaries and signs of abuse.

Ya, cause it hurt his fragile ego... ‘how could anyone not be excited to see ME!? That hurts my feelings!’ He didn’t care how his kids felt all those years missing their dad; no empathy.

Ugh, same (except the robbed part). I was expected to drop everything and always be there for my best friend in particular, no matter what, after every crisis (and there was always a crisis/drama), but whenever I needed her? Crickets. I was tired of being a therapist and caretaker not just for men, but for women too. I cut her off earlier this year; she treated me like an insubordinate or doormat or something (and she was biggest pick-me ever). No more. I’d rather be alone than have draining fri…

I actually saw a couple interviewed on some morning program, ‘CBS this morning’ maybe, and it was a black liberal wife and a white conservative husband... so while it may not be extremely common, it does happen I guess :/

OR... he’s going to become very manipulative, pretend he’s changed for a few months, finally start doing shit around the house, be really sweet and loving... all in an effort to try to get her to change her mind and take him back. Hopefully she doesn’t, but if she does, he’ll be back to his NVM ways in no time. It’s all a ruse. Edit: OP said, “she says if I made a dramatic change in the next 3 months, we could re-evaluate”. uh oh 😳

ok, if that’s true, than what is the solution? for me, I would much rather have a therapist perform more of the emotional labor for a man than me as a girlfriend. maybe he won’t change much, but at least he gets to unload a lot of his emotional issues on someone other than me lol

Because I kinda feel like talking online/on the phone/texting isn’t generally high effort or investment on its own. He could have been doing it with several other girls as well 🤷🏻‍♀️ edit: it is kind of puzzling why a lvm would drive 3 hours for sex though..

can successfully manage taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and finically... Successfully processing or taking care of your trauma while steadily improving. There are so many men out here dating when they haven’t done any of this... healed trauma and taken care of themselves physically, emotionally, and financially. They’d rather depend on a woman for all of this. Generally, it tends to be women who end up seeking help/therapy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 03:22 PM

this is absolutely disgusting to me... pretending to care for/be in love with someone just to get laid, and then tossing them out like garbage once they get what they want. It’s fucked up, and ends up hurting people.

Listen. No matter how careful you are, how educated you are on the red flags, how happy you are in your life, you can still be tricked by a toxic narcissist or sociopath. They are very cunning and charming, and some don’t show their true abusive self for years. I’ve seen it time and again, as I am in DV/narc recovery groups online. You want to believe that you have absolute control, that it could not happen to you, that you are not one of those types of women, you are too smart. But believe me, …

well, yes that is partly true, they are generally more vulnerable, but, do you know that good, normal, healthy, successful people can be victims of narcissists or abusers too? and are you going to apply that ‘like attracts like’ to victims of rapists too? somehow, the woman ‘attracted’ the rape, so the blame is partially on her. I don’t believe in that attraction principle/the secret bullshit. Kind, good people get abused every day, through no fault of their own. But yes, it helps to be wise and…

That is SUCH bullshit. And “the power of attraction” and ‘you attract what you are’ is just another way of victim blaming and placing the fault on the woman for men’s abusive behaviors. Have you thought maybe that women who are overly cautious of being raped/assaulted have BEEN raped or assaulted? Or have seen it so much with friends and family, that they are naturally wary? Better safe than sorry/raped/murdered.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/09/20 02:33 PM

Oh yes, I agree. Pick-me’s can be very dangerous; they will often enable and take the side of the men in their lives over the women. The mother who will choose to believe her husband’s word over her daughter’s that he is sexually abusing her, or even turning a blind eye, thus enabling the abuse. The woman who will side with a rapist male friend/boyfriend and harass and victim-blame the woman. Etc. They play their own part in subjugating women and upholding the patriarchy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/09/20 12:44 AM

You’re the one who’s toxic sis. Why are you fighting every woman here and acting so superior and know-it-all? Sorry, but only pick-me’s fight so viciously with other women. Why are you even here?

I mean, not really... men aren’t taught to help fix a broken woman, to stand by her and support her to become a better woman... most likely they’ll just leave because she’s ‘too complicated’ or ‘damaged’ lol (edit: PS: which is exactly how we should be acting toward these men too)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 09:46 PM

oof, sounds like a professional victim, and kinda narcissistic/sociopathic tbh... sorry you had to deal with that :/ people like that have no accountability and always blame everyone else. also, they water down the meaning of the word 'trauma', making our real traumatic experiences not taken as seriously and more easily discounted imo. sorry, but not everything is 'traumatic'
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/08/20 05:20 PM

Yes. People are definitely talking about it. They rarely get therapy, then cry 'no one cares about men's mental health issues!'. I mean, at some point you have to help yourself. tbh, most of the people I know in therapy are women. And why would men pay for therapy, when they can get it for free from their girlfriends/wives? ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/08/20 05:07 PM

Ugh, usually it doesn't mean that he still cares about you, or misses you, or was 'thinking about you'... just that he's bored, lonely, his new gf/lover left him, he's run out of other options, sees that you've moved on and you're doing well without him (and that just cannot happen, 'cause he's the greatest thing ever, right!?), he wants to know he still has power/control over you, etc... a classic "hoover" attempt. Don't fall for it ladies! Always block!

Unfortunately, that's correct. "Children who live with a single parent that has a live-in partner are at the highest risk: they are 20 times more likely to be victims of sexual abuse than children living with both biological parents (Sedlack et al, 2010)." Also, some studies show that approximately 1 in 6 girls will be sexually abused by their stepfather. You really cannot trust many men to be around your children.

Yup, this is most likely it, or at the very least he is talking to/entertaining several other women (this happened to me with an ex). they don't want their other options or gfs to know that they are taken. It's shady af. You did the right thing!

they hate us realising what we have in common collectively because then we start getting wiser, angrier and stronger as a group- which is their WORST nightmare because they know what that means for them (less control) . They deliberately try and DARVO putting the blame back on our individual experiences and 'choices' - so we can't join the dots together & gang up against them....even tho its pretty hard NOT to connect the dots after a while Wow, this is EXACTLY it 😮 too true. I've known too many…

ugh, how awful! They are so painfully transparent. Ya, they probably view feminism as a cause they can get behind because of the ways it caters to them and their pp: 'wow, cheap dates, easier/kinkier sex, pro-porn and sex work? sounds awesome to me!' lol. ya, and maybe that's part of the harsh reality that alot of women and/or lib fems don't really want to wake up to (cognitive dissonance) - that men don't view us as equals and actually most view us as beneath them. I personally had to go throug…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/03/20 08:44 AM

ya, that makes alot of sense. 'cockholme syndrome' lol. its just kinda bizarre.. they're essentially agreeing with the manosphere that FDS is toxic and a "hate sub"... like, really? us women shouldnt be fighting amongst eachother, we should be joining together to fight the oppressors/men instead. ugh, oh well. hmmm, I never really considered that some of them may be personality disordered... who just have to fight and rail against everyone and everything. thank you for your thoughts ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/03/20 08:10 AM
3

yes, I agree with all you've said. and even the men who seemingly support the movement or are pro-feminist, you have to be wary of as well, as they are often doing it for their own self-interests (ie. to appear woke as to get laid easier), or, to simply dilute the message/purpose of feminism, weakening it and making it less effective. Why should we continue to cater to men, even in the feminist movement; they've never catered to us lol.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/03/20 07:56 AM
3

yep, same
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 09:28 PM

ya, that makes sense. and I've just seen the modern feminist movement shift more and more toward catering to men, focusing more and more on men's issues, etc. (where I tend to disagree somewhat, and think that women and our issues should always be the main priority of FEMinism).. just more pickmeisha type behavior, idk. I saw the mod was a member of a sub called 'feminismformen' and just thought, couldn't be me lol. guess I'm more 'rad fem' than I thought. anyway, thanks for your response ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/03/20 09:14 PM

I'm wondering why some lib feminists consider FDS "toxic" or even a "hate sub"? I don't understand it.. I was thinking of making a post, but... on the AskFeminists sub today (the only lib fem sub I still followed, as they seemed somewhat reasonable..), I was trying to defend FDS and was told by several 'feminists' and a mod that they considered FDS a "hate sub" and "hate speech"... I was baffled and just decided to leave. It honestly shouldn't surprise me, but I've seen many men even defend FDS …

(my mother used to watch soaps). they're STILL considered one of the top all-time romances/marriages in soaps... and he was her rapist. Here's a quote from an article: "Luke Spencer and Laura Webber are considered by many to be the golden standard of daytime pairings, despite their controversial beginning when he raped her". 😨

Like dude either move on or don’t date. It’s rude to waste people’s time if you know you’re not ready to be emotionally committed. Exactly. Like, spend some time alone, self-reflect, heal, or even get some therapy if you're that fucked up from it. Do NOT lead someone on and possibly get their feelings involved. That's selfish, cruel, and hurtful.
