What I don't get is why we can't have such concepts as "altruism" and "egalitarianism". If everyone wants equality, maybe we(not "we" as in this subreddit, just "the people") should stop trying to make each other look bad.

Btw, the reason I didn't feel "threatened" wasn't because of her gender, but physical stature. She was one of the track runners, and built as such, while I'm relatively stocky and muscular. I'd definitely have a problem if it was one of the girls who was taller than me and was of comparable strength. I felt it would be a good idea to clear that up, because the lack of details can make some things look like misogyny.

I know I've gotten in trouble before for when someone hurt themselves trying to hurt me while I was still in school. The dumbass tried to slam her fists down on me, I put up my forearm, and it hurt me but she bruised her forearms. I wouldn't even consider it "self-defense", as she'd probably need a knife or other weapon to pose a real threat, but legally it was. I still got detention despite never throwing a punch.
