I'm sure I'll get downvoted to hell for this, but I didn't reslly see how he's in the wrong? He always cleans up after she cooks and buys or makes meals when she doesn't want to. I also hate cooking and actually had an agreement similar to this with a roommate where she cooked, I cleaned.

In the case of my ex, I think he purposely acted like he forgot things just to annoy me. Like he couldn't remember my birthday or if I like a certain food but he'd later mention knowing his ex's. Making me feel jealous and insecure really boosted his ego.
