It's very helpful and I'm thankful that a forum like this even exists. I see what everyone is saying "don't try to problem solve for guys". I didn't see myself as doing that at all. I felt like it was a harmless suggestion and if he didn't like it well he could've said he's coming over anyway.

Wow honestly I really didn't look at it that way. That's very insightful. But as far as his reaction, how would you get past that? After being called selfish and would rather get hit by a deer than spend another minute talking to me or being with me, telling me this won't work, this is not what he wants in his life. I repeatedly said sorry to him last night for the entire situation. I didn't tell him don't come over with any malicious intent so to get this kind of reaction was strange to me.

No not a situation of hamstering. At least I don't think so.

He doesn't drink so nope definitely not drunk. Not that it would be an excuse for his rant. As far as how I said it my text to him was simpy this "Hey baby, Maybe we should meet tomorrow? Its getting late and I dont want you driving around very late."

I'm not assuming he has a problem with it. If it wasn't a problem he could've easily said so. He could've responded that both he and his friend are fine to drive after working all day and his friend didn't mind dropping him off. Of course that is one way of handling the situation. I've never given him any reason to think I don't trust his driving or his time management. Nor was I interrupting his "guy time". I have not made any issue of him spending time with his friends. Or in this case helping…

I agree. I'm getting to a point where I'm tired of making excuses for his behavior. Everything feels great and is going great until something like this happens. It really confuses me. Or actually no. It doesn't confuse me because I know exactly what I should do.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
