| 1 | Difference between hitting on someone and flirting with them?My interpretations of the words are as follows: When you're hitting on someone your goal is to escalate your relationship (go on a date / have sex etc.). Flirting is showing slightly more intimacy than your relationship suggests. For example, if you tell a girl you're a millionaire in order to get her to sleep with you, you're hitting on her but not necessarily flirting.
