It’s a good point - I could have been more prepared and made it even more of a no brained for her. 3m old was sleeping in bedroom so we did it in living room, which meant getting stuff from bedside and a towel and the baby monitor. I could have anticipated this for sure - good reminder to always be looking around for opps to OYS.

Relationship Marriage - I turned on the flirting/kino this week, because I simply needed to have sex. Not jerking off does a thing to a man. Wife responded well, and we finally had sex. That said, the circumstances were suspect and I knew they were in the moment. It went something like this —> I kino’d my wife and mentioned the kids were sleeping, she responded and we made out, she hesitated and said something about not feeling up to it, I pushed the issue and said how often are both the kids as…

I was able to get back in the gym, I tracked my macros 5 out 7 days. I’ve been reading Rational Male and had some big ‘aha’ moments on RP, particularly about Abundance and becoming a Man with Options. I got my haircut i…

You want raw feedback, start posting in OYS weekly. Don’t see a single comment from you on anything MRP/askMRP until now.

EveryDollar is actually supported by Ramsey - not sure the exact relationship, but it has his 'blessing' so to speak. Definitely read the book and use the EveryDollar app. Just don't try to come up with your own methodology.

RE budget stuff - use a proven system with helpful app like YNAB or EveryDollar. Don’t try and make something up yourself until you get the basics down.

It’s all good man. What you need to remember is that red pill is about improving yourself as a man first and foremost above all else - looks, frame, game, and social skills. Better sex, better relationships, etc are all side effects. You can choose your LTR over other options because of the value she provides you - or, you have the ability to choose someone else. Your LTR should be begging you to come with her because she’s worried about all the attention you’d be getting from ladies while you s…

Do you want to go to this thing? Would it be fun for you? If yes, go and make the best of it. If not, let your LTR do her thing, and while she's gone, go do your own thing. If she's going to cheat, you will be cheated on now or eventually. The damage has long been done. Cheating is a lagging indicator of your own personal failures to maintain a valuable (to you) relationship dynamic. There is nothing you can do now but to potentially prevent the acute near term infidelity. If she meant to go to …

Try EveryDollar. Also, if they also don’t hook up to your bank, it is not a bad thing to require you enter every transaction manually for a while. Instill a discipline and helps you realize where your money is really going.

In general, most of the ‘house on fire’ issues I’m tracking are going really well. Diet is the exception, which I’ll expand upon below. Cool. Check out LMNT electrolytes on Amazon. When I’m doing Keto I drink 96oz of water per day with 1 pack LMNT, 1/4 tsp Lite Salt, 1/4 tsp Salt. When I don’t do this, I feel like total shit. Also, don’t fuck with physics. If your weight isn’t changing over 2-3 weeks, it’s because you are eating too much, not because your maintenance calories have suddenly increased. Keto doesn’t change the laws of thermodynamics. Calories in < Calories out = weight loss. Keto just makes this a lot easier since …

Re OYS posts - the weekly reflection is super important to be honest with yourself about your progress - forward, backward, or spinning wheels. Put a 30 minute recurring meeting on your calendar Monday afternoons to write your post. Keep a running note each week in OneNote or Evernote or IOS notes to jot down observations from interactions with your wife, insights from reading MRP, etc. Make it easier on yourself when you sit down to write the post. Good luck.

Have a hard time believing 2000 calls is too low for you, especially if it’s true you are hovering around 190 with no changes. Increasing calories to 2700 is not going to improve that. We are same height and I know for a fact my maintenance cals are 2150 ish. If you are doing Keto, your light headedness could have been electrolyte imbalance. Check out r/ketogains.

Lifting is required for the MRP man What the fuck does 10mg of Boron have to do with having sex with your wife?

Fucking hell man. Learn some fucking discipline and be an owner of your own life. Watching YouTube and Reddit and jerking your dick all day? This invalidates any progress you make in any other area. Read Power of Habit and Atomic Habits. Stop relying on willpower and create some repeatable processes in your life that don’t require you make a willpower decision each time. For example, from now on, every weekday you go to a coworking space and do nothing but work on your businesses from 8-12pm. Af…

Yeah - agree on the self discipline point and adding diet/weight-loss to the 'house on fire' section, at least until I start making some real progress. Thanks for the perspective.

Relationship/Sex Sex: Wife initiated once last week, but we end up not doing anything due to cock-block by daughter (obvi not intentional). I did not initiate again this week (see above re low motivation/libido). I’m struggling to kick the porn/masturbation habit - clearly related. Had a good streak going then failed. Going to pick it up this week as one of my weekly goals to report back on. I recognize this could be a major factor in all of the issues I’m experiencing in my marriage. Wife initi…

Been lifting intermittently for years with a few long consistent streaks. No stranger to the gym, and have run LPs to multiple failures in the past. Making great progress on current program.

Great call out, didn’t think of it this way. I even moved all the garage junk to one side so my wife could park in there. My car is much nicer and she rarely drives hers (works from home). Fuck. I’m on this for sure.

Yeah, getting consistent tape measurements is tough. One piece of advice i got is to take three measurements - below naval, at naval, above naval, and then average them. I do the same with neck targeting Adam’s apple. Reduces some of the noise. It’s just more time consuming, which is why I kept it to only a couple times per week.

Thank you for the incredibly thorough reply. Means a lot. RE porn - I'm on a 23 day clean streak, and masturbation down to 1x per week. Still not seeing that resurgence of my libido, so going to cut out fapping too and see how it goes. RE drinking - yeah, I know. I know deep down that nothing good will come from it. I've tried moderation before. I just miss and am feeling left out of some of the social aspects at the moment. Need to convince myself that ultimately if I show up to the bar or part…

I take a 20 day exponentially smoothed weighted average of my weigh-ins, so I don’t really look at the swings, I look at that smoothed average which weighs more recent data more heavily. As an aside, daily weigh ins has always been a helpful tool for me to stay focused on the goal. What gets measured gets improved. I’m also doing Navy Method BF measurements a couple times a week to track body comp.

I imagine it will take some time of consistently executing OYS without her having to nag before she'll release responsibility of decision labor. But hopefully will see less nagging in the process.

Thanks Steel, appreciate the Frame call out. After all my reading, Frame still seems too abstract a concept for me. I need to dig into some Frame specific posts this week, which I'll do.

Social/Fun Friends (Me): I’ve got a solid group of friends that I can hit up to hang out, but over time I’ve neglected these relationships. It shows because no one proactively seeks me out to hang out - I’m not adding value to their lives. I need to nurture a few of these most important relationships, and I’ll know if I’m succeeding when they start seeking me out too. Right now I feel really isolated and am failing here. Friends (Couple): I also want to make sure that my wife and I are having fu…

OYS #1 - (first post, long read) Me: 37, 5’8, 179, 21% BF, (calc 1RM): S 255, D 305, B 215, OHP 145. Married 5.5 years. Dating 2 years before that. 1 girl (18 months), 1 boy on the way (12 weeks along). Wife married me almost certainly for my provider traits alone - beta bucks 100%. I married her almost certainly as a mommy for my beta. Never felt ‘desired’ by her, never had great sex. Sex was just ‘ok’ prior to marriage, then we stopped before wedding due to religious reasons (which I regret an…

Got it. Mentioned in another reply, but at 21% BF I wouldn’t fuck me. I carry my BF in my chest and belly and I’m an ugly bitch naked right now. I need to cut at least some - maybe not all the way to 12 but perhaps 15 and then push lifts hard from there. Would need 15 to be the ceiling going forward for sure.
/r/askMRP13/01/19 10:19 PM
1

Yeah - it’s possible one approach would be to get down to at least 15%ish and do maintenance or slight bulk to hit my lifting goals from there. The reality is that I wouldn’t fuck me at 21% body fat. Appreciate the perspective.
/r/askMRP13/01/19 10:14 PM

Thanks man - makes sense, cut will be the plan. Recognize it's not necessarily either/or. With where I'm at on my lifts (lower specifically) I'm pretty much at the point where I either need to make the push to make progress on the lifts, or live with slow/no progress while I cut.

Yeah - no stranger to calorie counting/logs. Just trying to determine what the MRP crew's experience is regarding getting BF lower vs building muscle at the out set. Thanks man - makes sense. PS - your comment on the r/marriage post I made a few weeks back is what led me down this path. Been reading like crazy the last several weeks. thanks for that.
/r/askMRP13/01/19 04:54 PM

Yep - aware OHP doesn't count, just communicating current state. Other comments so far are 'cut first' - is that your perspective too?
