Why is the window closing? If you are a RP man, that doesn’t exist. I would counter that it only closes if you’re not actually applying RP principles. I would urge you to read the sidebar in the various RP male oriented subs. That being said church is good but honestly find a traditional married man you look up to, and see if there are any women in his circle you might be interested in. RP women tend to cluster together since most other women won’t understand how we live.

I think you should try to give yourself as much grace and leeway as possible. I’ve read your posts and comments before and I know you run a well managed home and life for your family. Props to you! But pregnancy and giving birth has a way of changing things that you thought were set in stone. Give yourself and your family the space to grow and be flexible. Continue to love yourself even when you don’t feel lovable. I am pretty sure you’ve got the basics and routine down already from raising your…

Ooo, I want to check it out. Wish I could be more into a homestead/rural lifestyle. I just discovered The Pioneer Woman and promptly told my husband to sell his business and go into cattle ranching. 😂😂😂 He said no. Maybe one day we can go further out from town and get a house with more land. I dream of a huge garden!

Bought it. Can confirm it is probably the only thing you’ll ever need in this category.

If you’re looking into antibiotics, I hear you can check out local aquarium/fish stores. I have never verified this but I hear that the fish antibiotics are the same as human. But again, please verify. No rx needed though.

Aside from being a RPW, I try to be a bit of a prepper. This really came in handy this weekend as our area is being impacted by a severe weather event. My husband still went to the hardware store, but we didn’t need to join the masses at the supermarket thanks to my planning. 🙂 To be fair, I went out on my own last night to ensure I had a bottle of wine for when we lose power today. 🙃

I meant to include that MRP might have a bit more relationship oriented advice compared to strictly TRP advice.

Marriedredpill is a subreddit. I’m just not tech savvy enough to link directly. It’s mostly men who are married who are trying to either leave their marriage in the best way possible or improve their marriage by leading as their household’s captain (and all that entails). It’s got more depth, I promise, but I’m typing and feeding a baby at the same time. If you confront him there’s a chance she’ll run further towards him, instead of away. I would try to get in touch with any friends she may have…

It’s different here than what you think. We embrace gender roles but not the mean behavior you describe above. MRP might be your best bet, but I can’t promise the advice will be in HER best interest. Intervene - She’s your mother and you should try to protect her from this person.

A very logical take on the show. That being said, I still get excited every Wednesday when the next episode drops!

I know this isn’t really what we’re talking about, but ever since having my daughter, I’m struggling to get back into heels. I feel like I’m on stilts. Something about the pregnancy made me feel so awkward and clumsy afterward. Any tips for practicing?

I think this is great. My grandparents ran a farm and were very traditional with regards to gender roles. That being said, my grandmother could, but was not expected to, skin the chickens, repair the tractor, plow the field etc. But this was only if my grandfather was incapacitated. Preparing our daughters for their world does not take away from their femininity. It allows them to fully embrace it. I love relying on my husband to handle the sharp edges of the world, but I do value my father for …

This may seem counter intuitive, but perhaps you should focus on self care. If you’re not taking a little time for yourself, of course you’ll be tired, forgetful, and not supportive (in his opinion). I just finished reading “The Surrendered Wife” and she really stressed taking care of yourself so you can take care of others. Take a Saturday to do get a pedicure, watch a Lifetime movie, maybe do brunch with the girls.. just do some things that make you feel good, and I think you’ll find you come …

The judgement is real. I got a little flack from my mother when I brought up what I was reading (The Surrendered Wife) and when I explained a little bit about the RP. Funnily enough, I mentioned it to my super liberal friends... and I got two to admit they’ve either read the book or living the RPWives path. Wish I could help my mom understand but she grew up in the 60s and is a huge feminist. Several of the arguments above have been brought up so I’m grateful for you posting those responses. It’…

Thank you for explaining all this. Yes, this is definitely where I would rather go for guidance and information. There’s definitely a different vibe about women over there, even from other women. I was just involved in an exchange about why a full term pregnant woman may find it necessary to put sex on hold for a minute. I was taken aback because the response to my comment just didn’t seem like the posts I thought I had been reading. Now it all makes sense...

I apologize. My reply might seem less than gracious. I’m working on that at home. I just feel very strongly about the sanctity and preciousness of this time in her life. I had complications towards the end of my pregnancy and couldn’t imagine trying to be intimate. My husband respected that and cared for me, and we preserved our emotional intimacy, even if we couldn’t have physical. But, to each their own. Anyway, I do apologize.

There’s absolutely nothing easy about it. When you’re full term, you can’t even see your vagina, much less use it. Any man who holds that against you doesn’t deserve to be your Captain.

Thanks! Having such trouble and reading The Surrendered Wife. I was hoping to ask if they saw my marriage improving?

How neat! So how does this work? Do we pose a specific relationship question? Open ended or yes/no?

Found it! I knew when I read this review: When it first came out, The Rules (1996) was attacked for being anti-feminist and even misogynistic. That didn't keep it from becoming a best seller and spawning The Rules II and other spin-offs. The Rules for Marriage follows suit. With advice that runs along the lines of "So what if your husband blasts rock music at 6 a.m.! He likes it! You need to adjust. Use the time you would normally spend sleeping to go to the gym instead!" and "Wear sexy clothes …
