There are two gender pay gaps: the adjusted and the non-adjusted. The non-adjusted is *NOT* taken into account the difference in jobs, qualifications, working hours and other factors. The adjusted does. The 2 to 6% pay gap, is based on the adjusted gender pay gap. "Men do jobs that get paid more" can not explain the adjusted gender pay gap, since it is already adjusted by these factors.
This is oversimplifying the issue. We have the same laws in germany and still the pay gap (same job, same qualification, same working hours, etc) is around 2% to 6%.
