Why don't you just get some work done? Save up and have that as a goal. Love isn't real from men anyway so just do it for your own self confidence.

Just don't tell them you're a virgin, makes you look like easy prey. I wish you guys would use common sense, no shade.

You're not an idiot, you're fully capable of making intelligent decisions. The fact that you're registering your discomfort around his hostile behaviour is proof of that. Listen to your instincts about this. I'm glad I could make you smile, all the best 🩷

Generalisations exist and a lot of the time hold merit but we're fundamentally individuals with unique ways of making sense of and interacting with the world. It makes more sense to draw similarities between people from a specific country or culture vs scapegoating 50% of the entire world.

It's been said time and time again but Reddit is truly one of the most openly misogynistic places on the internet

Yes!! I could never articulate what felt so off about these sorts of communities but you're completely right. There's a real lack of genuine empathy towards the actual human lives they're discussing and yet I've never seen people so passionate in their need to make their outrage known. I don't even think they're coming from the wrong place in most cases, just think it's representative of the ways men operate, deep empathy seems to be foreign.

You're still a teenager, you definitely aren't too old for anything. I know it's not completely the same in France, but I personally know countless people who didn't graduate with an undergraduate degree until their mid to late twenties and have super stable lives now. Ultimately no one can make this decision but you. You should try to distance yourself from the expectations of your parents because a lot of the time we confuse what we're expected to do to make the people we love happy vs what we…

Well why are you so hell bent on pursuing law specifically? There's a lot else you could study that would lend itself much better to the life you want for yourself. Law isn't something you get a degree in if you aren't sure that you want to completely centre the prime of your life around your career. Doesn't make much sense.

On the contrary I hope it is that high since I've never seen a group of 'women' so incredibly low in feelings of self worth than on here, very ironic since it should be the opposite in theory.

Agree with you definitely. I feel like the first type are the ones less likely to comment anyway and more likely to just take in our viewpoints, which I see absolutely no problem with and would even encourage. You do have a point in the fact that we're a unique group of women here and it's hard to find other places to receive male input from men who would understand the place we're even coming from.

No, I don't see hypocrisy in my statement at all. I have nothing against men having their own spaces, and they do by the thousands. I like this community because I can speak to other women about things pertaining to the ways we want to live our lives. I think it's quite childish to tell me to talk to a councillor in an imaginary university women only safe space, especially considering we're in the middle of a global pandemic.

Just seems like we're constantly sacrificing our own private spaces. Men exist in every single corner of the internet, women don't.

You've been through terrible things and your feelings are not unusual!! I think you may be clinging onto this unreachable ideal of traditional femininity as a means out of your current mental state, but issues need to be dealt with before we can blossom into who we're meant to be. In my experience, who you're meant to be isn't something another person can decide for you through reading books or listening to advice from people who have no tangible understanding of where you're coming from. What m…

Just be straight up about it. It has nothing to do with pressuring him into commitment, it's about clearly defining your boundaries and your morality. If he has an issue then he's obviously not the one for you. You'll be wasting your time and his. And please don't allow any man to every coerce you into abandoning principles you held prior to meeting him- promise yourself this!!

Dump him he is LOW VALUE and degenerate. Why are you dating a grown man who uses terms like 'top twitch girl' to begin with? I understand a lot of the time as girls we get pulled into relationships because their beginnings appear to be good and different and all that, but it's always true that when someone shows you their true colours you need to believe them. A man like him will never change unless he feels it in his soul and you aren't responsible for that. If you're feeling unattractive go ge…

Yep that's exactly it sadly. I remember that one tweet asking guys what they'd do if their girlfriend was gang raped and the responses were absolutely sickening. Saying they'd have to leave because they know she'd 'never be the same', using words like damaged goods.

Honestly it makes me think that most of them aren't even attracted to grown women at all. Porn has warped their brains so much that their ideal partner has traits that are all indicative of developmental immaturity, both physically and mentally. Then I think there's also a twisted side to it where they see it as another means of being able to control us and the way we feel about our bodies, making us feel like we need to conceal all evidence that we are indeed adult human beings. Also just perso…

The sign of maturity in personal development is when you're actually able to analyse a situation with objectivity regardless of the emotional baggage and list your own faults and shortcomings and how they've contributed to relationship failures. Human beings cannot be boxed for the most part, it's sad we're losing the prioritisation of empathy and the ability to forgive as being the most important traits in potential partners. You have to hope a lot of these guys change their hearts for the bett…

Men never tire of finding ways to victimise themselves ironically. Even when the biggest reason to stop supporting an evil industry presents itself it's like it's invisible to them. Feeling empathy towards degraded women whose likely ruined lives you're getting off on? Impossible.

Haha don't worry, I definitely get you. It's pretty lonely sometimes and it can feel impossible to make genuine connections with people. I guess the only thing we can do is look within for some of it and hope our example attracts others with the same heart. I wish you well girl x.

Yes but, and forgive me for saying this, it does sound like you're placing yourself on some sort of pedestal. Most people are going to be easily guided by what is the standard culturally as opposed to taking a more traditional view of things, especially in regards to young people. When I was younger I thought that my lack of fulfilling female friendships meant that I should turn to men as a sufficient alternative, but I warn you guys that this can have hugely negative consequences relating to th…

Stuff like this makes me happy. Love how they equate a person's value and happiness level to attractiveness and the amount of sex they have when they likely posses zero of either.
