To be fair, as dude I complain all the time about the social dynamics we create. So I think you get a pass on that.

In general I find we are far to often to victim blame in modern society. So this resonates with me pretty hard. Alot of this is filtered through and histrionic lens too, you'll think guy X has always been creepy after the fact when you didn't speak up before hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 06:15 PM

Yes, honestly this isn't very convincing
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 06:04 PM

I'm not sure that's very fair. Most of self worth comes from society and peers, and being single effectively makes you "low-value" as a male in society eyes. Really just think about all the language we use to describe men we don't like, Small dick, incel, Virgin, ect. I don't think any about of self estimate can overcome the burden of society as a whole for most people.

Absolutely, I understand that. Many men struggle with self confidence and have a tendency to interpret problems as personal failures rather than as opportunities to grow or improve. I can relate to this more than I’m proud of. In my early twenties, I acted this way in my first serious relationships, and looking back, it was a way of avoiding some deeper issues I was carrying, even if not as extreme as in some cases. But really I think if people act a certain way, there is usually some live exper…

Basically, I tend to see most of those household tasks as just actual labor. Emotional labor, though, is more nuanced and highly relationship-specific. For instance, some men can overreact to the slightest misstep, which makes managing their emotional volatility a form of labor. Likewise, even minor disagreements with certain female partners can land you in the doghouse if they pout or act immature.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 06:29 PM

Sorry what I meant is that, Women generally take on quite a few unrecognized household tasks. Stuff like Planning Birthday parties, Child care, Holidays, Organization, Food, ect. But I'm just not fully sold on the idea they carry more "emotional" labor, I think that's way more nuanced.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/26 05:08 PM

I feel like the household part is more often then not true, especially in the past with more traditional relationships. I think the "emotional" side of it has a lot more variance and is very relationship dependent. Really these feel like two totally separate things.

Well it's pretty interesting. If you look at the online poly community 100%. But if you included people like swingers or hot wifers... Than it's a totally different demographic.

I really appreciate the microbiome discussion—it's a fascinating area. I do a lot of small-scale organic gardening, and books like Teaming with Microbes highlight just how essential microbial inoculation is to healthy organic ecosystems. In fact, humans themselves host more bacterial cells than human ones, which really puts the symbiosis into perspective. Really one of the most important barriers in your skin is the microbiotic layer. On the topic of sugar and carbs, I used to hold a more simpli…

To be fair, I did wrap the "gotcha" in quotes. It’s an extreme example, sure—but it’s meant to highlight an extreme point. If you’re genuinely interested in discussing this, I can dig up better examples with actual data. But let’s not miss the forest for the trees here. I think we are burying the lead here, The real headline isn’t “Hot Felon went viral.” It’s “Felon went viral because he was so hot.” That’s the entire point. Priorities say a lot, don’t they?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/25 10:47 PM
5

That’s literally the exact point I’m making. Again: Attractiveness > Everything else. A significant amount of women will absolutely overlook bad behavior if the guy’s hot enough. That’s the whole point. I’m pushing back on OP’s claim by highlighting just how much looks override everything else. Not sure how that got lost in translation. But for the sake of clarity, men 100% do this as well. If not even more frequently.

Not even trying to be mean here—genuinely—but what are you actually trying to say? Like, take a second, hit spell check, and re-read whatever that was. Because right now, it reads like a fever dream typed with thumbs dipped in olive oil.

You're mixing up the timelines here. The guy’s name is Jeremy Meeks, and this incident is basically what launched his fame. His mugshot went viral back in 2014 after the Stockton Police Department posted it on Facebook. People were obsessed with how “hot” he looked—even though it was literally a gang-related weapons charge. Before any of this he was a total no body. From there, people started using his photo to catfish women online, which only fueled the attention. That viral fame eventually led…

To be fair, I didn’t even present any data here — and OP is clearly operating south of 70 IQ. This entire thread collapses under even a shred of scrutiny. It doesn't make sense to anyone with an ounce of legitimacy or intellectual honesty.

Look, whether you like it or not, vulnerability will be used against you in relationships. I used to believe in true love — I really did. But experience and heartbreak have taught me what I should’ve known all along: "Whoever has the least to lose in the relationship holds the power." It’s a harsh realization at first, but eventually, you start to see the bigger picture: we all have roles to play in society — and we don’t get to choose them. In past relationships, I showed weakness. I was always…

I hate to bring up this example, but there a classic "gotcha" where a guy posed openly child-sex offender on tinder, but with a really hot PFP mugshot and he still got tons of matches from seemingly normal women. For a significant portion both men and women, if they are attractive enough that overwhelms everything else. Attractiveness over all. It's sad but it's true.

Even the premise of this post makes zero sense. Paying for porn doesn’t make someone part of your "harem" — like, what are these people smoking? Are they actually this retarded? Or just so blinded by their own biases? This isn’t some new phenomenon, and OnlyFans barely factors into the discussion. The reality is: very few women are porn stars, and even fewer are actually famous or influential in that space. Now, if the argument was about men spending money on escorts or sugar arrangements, you m…

The idea that women don’t watch porn is outdated as hell. Most studies show that 60–65% of women have watched porn, and 30–40% actively watch it within a given year. Younger women especially have high usage rates, often similar to men. It’s not rare, weird, or niche—porn is mainstream for women, just like it is for men.

That's a really interesting perspective. I can’t say I’ve personally experienced that from the other side of the fence, but I do appreciate the insight. With a background in logic and philosophy, I tend to approach things analytically, so I can see how your point fits within a broader framework. That said, I’m genuinely curious—what do you think are some signs that a woman is interested in forming a deeper connection and is open to engaging with more intellectually challenging ideas? I often fin…

Right so the disconnect is that I think they want to have the perception of being safe and protected. But I don't think many women have a great understand of physical conflict, and to a lesser extent protection. There is actually quite a bit of biological evidence women have a much worse sense of threat detection then men. Anyone who has grown up having to face physical adversity either personally or professionally know that: Avoid, Escape, or Call out for help. You only fight if you've run out …

This ignores basic biochemistry, which we have a pretty good understanding of, whereas we don't have a good understand of race and genetics. In it's broadest context: More Test = More aggression, Men = More Test, therefore by the property of implication (hypothetical syllogism), Men = more aggression. But really this is just innutative, looking at data and cultural zeitgeist. People on reddit wouldn't be comfortable with discussing this type of topic (for good reason too), but there could be a c…

To be fair, that protects you from prosecution. Not allegations. Best example of this exact circumstances is the trial that just played out with those Canadian hockey players, all the evidence points to it being a baseless claim yet their public sentencing and lives are irreversibly ruined. I don't think their is much you can do to avoid unfounded allegation outside of unhealthy behaviour. I think just hope a pray, maybe try and avoid people you don't trust, but that feels victim blaming here.

You know even as a man, I don't think that's much differnt. Some of the women I've dated had basically zero interesting hobbies outside of Skin care (It's funny that people who are obsessed with skincare, tend to have pretty bad skin / complexation. I wonder if it's a chicken or egg thing.) But the deep conversation thing is something I've always wanted but never have seem to found. It wasn’t just some neutral “intervention.” The Soviets sent in 100,000+ troops, assassinated the Afghan leader (Amin), and installed their own puppet (Karmal) from a rival faction. That’s regime change by force, not just picking a side. Yeah, there was a civil war, but the USSR didn’t exactly show up as peacekeepers — they invaded to prop up a collapsing communist ally and keep Afghanistan in their orbit.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/25 06:03 PM

I think it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. Lower class people tend to have worse socializations and frame of reference for "Success". That gets amplified throughout their lives resulting in the expected outcome.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/25 05:52 PM

Wouldn't say it's that interesting. Men have more sex-drive through the biochemistry. Mix in less in-group bias, and boom. Seem like expected outcome really.

I'd argue Surveys really aren't science at all even. Self reported data... is iffy at best. And the differences between men and women get amplified by this type of surveying even more then normal.

Pretty much every guy has been groped by some weird drunk woman they don't even know at some point in their life Yup, and honestly the weird thing about it all is that SA isn't really about Sex at all, it's about power. I've had some women do VERY questionable things to me, but it's like water off a ducks back. Never bothered me at all. Because in the end, I still have the power to change my fate. It's pretty fucked up when you think about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that just a weird semantic argument? Redefine a term in common parlance to another definition and anything would be wrong. (A very common tactic lately...) That is, ask 90% of people what libido means and they would answer something like: The urge to get your rocks off.

It would be impossible to gather real data on, but I wonder what the curve looks like? I don't sleep around a ton, but of the 10 or so women I've been with none of them even had a fourth of my libido. Usually being happy with 2-3 times a week.

My dude, that is just called supporting your partner when they have a bad day. Totally with you on that, it feels like people on reddit really vilify people for just needing a crutch sometime to lean on. That's kind of what relationships are supposed to be about. I think you are projecting a bit here. I'm not talking about controlling someone else's behavior, I'm simply talking about likely outcomes from someone's actions. If someone likes to go out and party, that's a risk factor for infidelity, full stop. But ultimately I do agree that telling someone not to go out and do that is controlling behaviour, (and likely wont succeed anyways). Really I was never trying to suggest someone should do that. Honestly there is some nuance here I think you are missing. Thinking about any risk as purely binary isn't really an accurate way to think about it. Look, I think it's just complicated. We have data. We know hormones can drastically effect someone mood and behaviour. This isn't really up for debate, and in comparison any guy who's taken exogenous testosterone could tell you it can drastically modify your mood. But what we do with this understanding is more complicated. And frankly I tend to lean to the side of not allowing someone's biology to excuse poor behaviour. Just seems like a slippery slope to me.

I think a big part of the problem is that a lot of versions of masculinity posit that a man has failed if he doesn't have a woman. Your not wrong at all. But your misattributing this just to masculinity. It's seems to come from a totality of social behaviour across pretty much every culture, and even across pretty much all of history. Look at even the most gynocentric matriarchal social contexts, you still would hear insults about a mans relationship status, phrases "small dick" or "incel" are s…

I don't think this is as common as people saying that a man's dating-/sex-life struggles are his own fault, and that he can turn his fortunes around if he puts in the work. I think fault be dammed here. Not to spout crappy RP talking points, but frankly as a young man no one will help you. You are the cannon fodder, but literally and figuratively. Oh yeah? I think it depends on a few factors. But in my estimation, if we are going to have a honest discussion, I don't think the "goodness" of a person is a major factor in dating sucess for either gender sadly. I think it important to realize, most people don't cheat. Gender differences seem to mostly be in the demographic curves but pretty lined up in macro. In real life? Then it a different discussion for sure. But really, men do these combabilities checks as well. But I'm sure it pretty different to checklist women use. And really, being in active pursuer role for most relationships, men simply have less opportunity to be picky. I will never understand why more men don’t do the same sorts of compatibility checks. For online dating? The answer should be pretty obvious. If an average man filtered this way, it would bring him from 4-8 matches down to 0-2 matches. Frankly, in OLD most men don't have enough matches to begin with to find a proper date, let alone being picky about who. Really, you get to pick 1-2 criteria at most.

But I think it's fine to look at it as a spectrum, and I'm not sure it's a good precedent to judge someone for what they are attracted to. But I do agree that most people here are looking at it through a warped red-pill lens. In the end, I'm just uncomfortable litigating what people should be attracted to. This is the same reason…

I'd say it's 50/50. So, of it is most likely just biological, so even driven through evolutionary psychology and hormones. The rest is social. Think about it, what is the most common insult you can throw at a man right now? Incel. That alone should make it clear socially men's value tends to be dictated by the relationship status. Which really, is bullshit. But the power of social views as a whole doesn't trump reason.

Who says men don't? Frankly most the men I know that are doing well, over like 100k a year annual, generally don't want to date a women who has no aspirations or income. Frankly, talking about barrier to dating, income has been the most dramatic filter for me. Even though I make over 100k, it's frankly not enough to support two people. Here's a strange thought, how do you even really define good sex? Frankly without that definition in the first place this seems like a semantic argument.

And why the assumption that all women who make more than minimum wage are ugly and bitchy? Usually, it’s poverty that correlate with weight and harsher manners. To an extent I think this is true. Which is interesting, since it's a chicken and egg scenario. Rich people are generally more competent and socially aware, which leads to them prioritizing their looks since they have the means and understanding of its importance. But on the other hand, beautiful people are given advantages throughout th…

The incredibly reductionist, and frankly a Sociologist wouldn't be the authority on naturalism. Which is generally divided into two board paradigms, philosophical (Descartes, Plato, Kepler, etc.) and Scientific (Life Sciences and Physical Sciences). Which in a board scope, Sociology isn't generally even considered to be a member of life sciences.

So that can lead us into some more complex philosophical topics regarding mind, body, and social experience. But really, I'm not trying to get into those topics in the scope of this discussion. But really what I'm talking about here, is that men aren't generally struggling internally with accepting their own identities. Like in this situation, I'm comparing it to someone repressing their sexuality. The catalyst for these types of conflicts isn't some rejection of ones "true self" but rather, a s…

I'm happy you had the experience and found yourself later in your life. But I think you're getting confused here, I don't think these types of struggles generally stem from men struggling with their identify. Alot of these struggles are externel and not internal.

Checking out of the relationship is one of the most common excuses that people use when they start an affair. That includes men. I'd take some contention with that, from some of the studies if seen Women are significantly more likely to get into a relationship with their AP post break up. Something like 75% of women who engage in affairs say they have fallen in love with the AP or have romantic feelings for them. I'd make the conjecture that in many of these situations, they AP is being courted …

Maybe that seems true from your perspective, but from personal experience I know lots of guys that had bad / weird interactions with women 40+ in their early 20's, even going as far as sexual assault. Pretty much every night club I went to in college would always have some old lady creeping on guys. You might just not notice it, or it could be less common where you live.

I don't really think that's true. Both groups seem pretty marginalized regardless, and the response you're getting is most likely just dictated by which spaces you are in.

I think I have contention with this, I don't think all relationships are reciprocal. Very often there are relationships that are one-way streets where on person is clearly being exploited by another person.

I feel like depending on age too. It's pretty normal for a 17-18 year old to never have been in a relationship. Much less though a 30+ year old.

Right and the money / beauty thing is a bit nebulous and abstract in my eyes. They would more so just fall under the label of superficial attraction. Also: I find this fascinating, could you explain your flair please? And also, Phenylpiracetam is a stimulant from the 80's designed for Russian cosmonauts. It's mostly just a play on words, since I think the whole idea of "pills" is BS. Although I used to take it recreationally as well. Hard to get now sadly.

An interesting idea for sure, and I'm not sure I disagree the aesthetic of "goodness" plays some role for sure. But I'm not sure it's as simple as that. Really, I think the primary factor for all relationships starts at physical / personal attraction.

Honestly, it sounds like your Ex has some serious insecurities or attachment issues. But really, if you know his prior dating history, I'd say the answer to his behavior most likely lies somewhere in that. Frankly it sounds a bit strange as you described it, from my perspective he seems a bit too old to fall into that rabbit hole without some major catalyst. Sure, but if you suck at something, you can improve at that thing. Just because someone is better at something doesn't mean it should always fall on them. It's exhausting and breeds resentment. Follow up question, how do you feel about the fact the most men actively don't like these types of events? I'm mostly just curious, because I can't think of single man in my life that really cares about things like Father's Day, their birthday, or just nebulous obligatory holidays. For example, my father …

It's likely not incredibly healthy for us, but I don't know a single man that cares about events like this. And, off the top of my head, every woman I know does. This, so incredibly hard. I don't know a single *Straight man who cares or really enjoys these types of things. Most, like myself actively dislike these types of self congratulating events. And that's lead me to question, why?

I don't know what to say, but I think you are being a bit ignorant to the cultural climate and the perception of virgin men. (Also I'm assuming you live in a western nation as well.) Calling a man a virgin is a common place insult, regardless of whether it's true or not. This type of insult in particular comes most often from women. That fact alone should make it pretty obvious why this perception exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:42 PM

See, something along those lines I get more. People close to you can provide really great feedback on things you might have overlooked and ignored. I would love to see this style of relationship match making come back, I think right now it could really help the younger generation.

To an extent that's true, but I think it's more complex than that. Long term successful adult relationships require both parties to have good communication skills and a genuine commitment to making things work. I think a lot of people just get hooked on limerance and bounce around between semi long term relationships once they feel like the sparkle wear off, regardless of if they are truly compatible or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 08:26 PM

Yup, honestly people will run around all day trying to play "pin the tail on the gender" but honestly, I think as a whole we've backslid pretty seriously. I think that's pretty unlikely, given the fact that concentration of testosterone is probably a significant factor in physical assault. Men are generally just more violent, and that feels like a fact more than a discussion, at least from an evo-bio perspective. I actually agree with most of what you are saying here. And if we are going with a more literal definition, the criteria that you've laid out for "feminism" is quite good. Still there are some details I don't necessarily agree with, but the focus on tangible empowerment of women should be the core of the ideology. That's actually why I normally make sizeable donation every year to a charitable organization that empowers girls and young women in third world countries. Regardless, I'm not really t…

I guess It would very much depend on your definition of feminist, but in terms of my experience? I live in a very liberal city, so I would say 90-95% of women I interact with openly identify as feminist. And generally I feel like women's issues / feminist topics are things they would frequently bring up. But again, that not might fit your / a stricter definition here.

Totally, and keep in mind I'm definitely not suggesting people just let an abusive relationship continue. I just feel you owe it to your kids to give it a legitimate chance to try and fix relationship issues, and not just jump ship the second your feelings get hurt. Lately it just seems no one ever wants to work on themselves and relationships, and pretty much the only advice is to immediately give up, which is sad.

Based take. I'm just surprised how many people constantly seem to put their own wellbeing as paramount over their own children. Outside of fringe abusive cases, I'm shocked more people don't at least try to make it work for the sake of their children. To me it always feels like making the choice to have a child puts some responsibility on you that may infact come at some cost to your happiness. If you don't like that deal? Don't have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/24 03:25 PM

That's just untrue. While not common I had a friend whose parents stayed in a non-sexual aromatic relationship just to raise him. He was adopted so in some ways I think they felt even more responsible for him, so maybe that factored in. While I do agree not everyone could do that, it's just not true it doesn't happen.

Not actually as hot of a take. I had a friend once who was adopted, and his parents fell out of love with each other. However, they made the rare decision on to stay together for him until he left for university and were very proactive and civil about in. I actually think, if you are making the active choice to have a child it's not totally unreasonable to put aside your own happiness to raise them, all within reason. Yeah, I think so, but I think you would need to work around some baseline tendencies men and women have. I think the biggest issue is you would need to curate people's interactions way more in a match maker style. Maybe you could poll people on their interests / hobbies, and setup some interactions with them beforehand. If not, I think it would just lead to men either harassing women, or most women going after 1-2 guys at the event. I don't think people are even that good judges of what's best f…

So, I've worked as a bouncer for a few summers and I've been kicked out of many, many, many bars when I used to be an alcoholic. I have some insider knowledge. Reality is, at most places you're far more likely to get kicked out of bars as a group of guys. What they are doing is trying to keep the ratio decent at the bar. Guys are also just more trouble. It's sadly a pretty common industry practice, and super common in certain cities compared to others.

Can't say I disagree. People will waffle about whether this is fair or what not, but that doesn't matter really. Although look, I totally agree it's rejection sucks and it is pretty one side. But It's pretty much expected for men to make the first move, so if you want to be romantically successful as a man you should bite that bullet. But try and learn the difference between harassment and approaching someone, you don't need to go all in and it's fine to test the waters. Also be realistic, if yo…

/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 10:34 PM

Yeah, that's always irked me about the "I'm not your therapist" line. I'm sure plenty of guys trauma dump which sucks, but most women trauma dump as well. It doesn't seem that gendered to me, and if anything tilted away from men.

So, I remember reading a paper the corroborates this idea quite a lot. The general idea was that women actually have a much more difficult time sensing who is physically dangerous when compared to men. It was theorized that evolutionarily and socially men significantly more likely to get into conflict with another men, so being hyper aware of who's physically dangerous is an advantageous trait.

Just to point out too, not all women are DEI candidates in tech. For a while I worked at a small startup that had just an okay gender balance (like 3-1), but some of the most brilliant women I've ever worked with. Realistically though the merit issues show up if you try and balance it 1-1, since statically it's unlikely for there to be a big enough of a talent pool to do that.

I don't fully disagree with your premise. But it seems a little too dogmatic to be a healthy approach and I think some small nuance would go a long way. Sure, you shouldn't have to nag someone to get them to do the basics that are expected. But I think your overall outcomes in relationships would be better if you communicated more and tried to understand people aren't perfect.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 09:56 PM

That's such BS. Good lovers should also be good communicators. Sure, there shouldn't be a play-by-play walkthrough each time. But getting to the point where you are fully in tuned with each other desires and needs requires good communication full stop. I can tell you having to do tons of mind reading to figure what gets a woman off isn't a good experience. Frankly It's sounds like you aren't a very good lover.

I think if you can be introspective at all, you can look back on actions you willingly took that sabotaged your past relationships. Honestly, I think the situation actually isn't that complex. What people are really doing is just using hierarchies as an ad hoc justification for their bigoted behavior. That is, they feel compelled to behave in a discriminatory manor (Maybe even because of their lived experience), but don't want the social stigma that comes along with acting bigoted. Frankly, I’ve seen it where whatever you have you feel is more painful, so if you aren’t getting dates you think that’s more painful. If you were in relationships and losing them, you feel that’s more painful. I totally agree. But here's the rub: You can still choose to not get into relationships. Actually there no way you can even really compare the mental illness themselves really. I'm not 100% sure it's gender exclusive, because this type of thing happens to women too. But for me, she cheated on me, started a relationship with the new guy, left me with a lease and shared debt, abandoned her cat with me, and then shit-talked me to all her friends painting me in a terrible light highlighting all my darkest most embarrassing qualities. This left me broke, responsible for a pet and lease, and isolated right at the start of the pandemic. It got so bad one of her original frien…

/r/PurplePillDebate30/08/24 08:20 PM

While true, I disagree its just apps. If you're that attractive it will trickle down to pretty much all aspects of dating, especially as a guy. Legitimately every single woman I knew would make a pass at him.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 01:32 PM

Yes. I put it in quotations because it's not really actually value. It's just very attractive people I'm referring too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/24 01:27 PM

Why tell them at all? Just do it in private. It's a totally non invasive procedure so there isn't really a moral requirement here to disclose it if you don't want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:42 PM

That's insanely an insanely fucked thing to say.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:39 PM

Not to weigh in on the argument at large here, but I would like to point out that alcohol is a psychoactive drug and works on mechanisms greater then simply just lowering inhibitions. I'm mostly chiming in because I've seen this dangerous idea floated around quite a few times, and it's really just not true. Alcohol will in fact on occasion cause people to do things they would not have other wise, and this is actually just an indisputable fact. If you want me to expand on this I can.

I mean it's also not binary and that's why I kinda hate this conversation. It's probably fine if not a good thing to have had few casual random partners in the past. It's not good to be totally celibate until marriage or sleep with hundreds of random people.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:26 PM

Exactly. It's kinda silly to say, but this guy was also just super popular and likable in general to pretty much everyone. Turns out what makes someone likable isn't as gendered as you would think.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:15 PM

I think It depends on how "high value" the guy is too, I know a few "high value" guys that are just flooded with date requests / hookup proposals despite barely even knowing these people.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 06:10 PM
1

I don't think you are 100% incorrect but I think it's a pretty surface level take. I'm sure the cheating is partially a socialized behavior and partially a driven biological behavior. From a sex drive standpoint, gay men have the most sex out of any chort and gay women have the least (even less then hetro couples in fact.) So you would expect more cheating if we assume sex drive as a factor, despite the relationship integrity.

I actually don't think this is quite as unreasonable as you proposed (although I get the point of the absurd hypothetical). I know quite a few couples with baggage where one has full access to the others phone, or something similar. I've never been in that situation but I don't think it would be a total deal breaker for me. While I agree it's not ideal for sure, some people have damage over being hurt in the past and as long as the behavior doesn't step into controlling I don't see offering them…

In a ideal world it should be equal to a responsible extent. But unfortunately this isn't an ideal world, and both sexes go into dating with pretty different ideal (of course there are exceptions). So for practical advice I'd suggest offer to pay but don't be pushy about it. Especially on first dates, second / third dates are a bit up in the air and that starts to set prescient. But frankly even in long term relationship I can count on one hand the number of times I've had a women pay for it all…

Men and women can 100% be friends, and not believing that shows you have limited life experience in this topic. Ex's can be another topic, but generally I would say for most people this isn't a good idea to remain intimate friend with an ex. It's tricky because it's not having friends that an issue for anyone, it's having intimate and close relationships with someone who's a potential partner that becomes an issue and frankly borders on infidelity. I actually have a look behind the curtain on this one, since I know quite a few people in health care policy (and pretty much all my family is major players in health care). From my understanding, most of it comes down to the type of people who makes said policies and their biases. Most of these policy makers are older people who own home, have families, and are in generally good economic positions. But from what I've heard, most are at least aware of who they are marginalizing / not supporting …

Not really a conversation I want to get into but, Empathy, Compassion and Nurturing are far more likely to be negatives in this type of situation. I wonder what all those men here who claim all women have lots of serious options for men and cannot be really lonely, would say to that. That's actually a really good and refreshing point. There's no way castration is a form of harm reduction at all. In a moral vacuum I don't think retribution is totally ridiculous, but we simply don't have the ability to be certain someone is totally guilty of the crimes they've been accused of committing, and even punishing 0.5% of people with some inhumane mutilation is too much. Women in general? Or women on the show. Generally it seems men are far more likely to enjoy bushcraft and survival skills as a hobby, so selecting from a generic sample it feels like the men should do better. Men in general tend to be a bit more physically capable so that would tilt it in their favor as well. But we are talking about lots of variance if you were to select similar cohorts from each sexual demographic.

Here's a great video to watch on this topic. (current worlds strongest man). Either you do just have a very very low lack of muscle, or just have more body fat that you think. Women in General have a much harder time getting shredded though since you naturally have like 5-10% more body fat. It takes high intelligence to disassociate sex from your relationship with somebody. Nobody who is high intelligence refers to themselves like this. I think there are a few things at play here. The most obvious factor is it is a coping mechanism to deal with drastically asymmetrical levels of social standing / baseline attractiveness. I'm not sure what has caused this negligence, but it is most likely a cultural issue, and the fact young people can't be advocates for thems…

A couple things, first off you can't really understand why she lost attraction to him. I'm not going to disagree his personality may be a factor since I simply don't have that context, but I'm also not sure you really have enough information about the situation to really understand yourself. In both men and women, I often see relationships fail really quickly once the mystery / chase is gone. Often people fall in love with the idea of someone and not actually the person. Second off, even if we p…

It's crazy seeing some men think that Margo Robbie / Scar Joe isn't and insanely high, borderline delusional standard. Requiem for a Dream moment. Legitimately, I'd love to see what anything bring to the table. Aside from being chronically online.

This doesn't actually map onto anything I've said. I'm not going to deny differences in in-group bias for different groups. I'm just pointing out it's a pretty common and demonstrably phenomenon. And to an extent you are misinterpreting the paper. The study did not demonstrate that men don't show this bias at all, it's just demonstrated to a remarkably then women. While this type of data is extremely useful and certainly trumps anecdote, keep in mind this is a hyper specific study that only incl…

I'm not so sure about this, inaction while you have the power to take action is really just another form action, see the Trolley problem. But to an extent it is a sliding scale of severity given how costly the action would be to take.

And white leftists are the only group that have an outgroup bias in regards to race. On this point, I tend to agree but only if you only define groups by raw definable characteristics (like race or gender). But in reality that's a pretty limited view on how groups form and I don't think immutable traits are require or really the operant factor. Even dynamic factors like age or income play a pretty powerful role.

This concept can actually be scale up from something as small as a elementary school friend group, all the way up to massive like a whole coalition of nations. This principle seems pretty universal, but that doesn't mean particular groups don't lean into it slightly more or less. Again though, this ebs and flow with time as groups of people constantly change demographically and socially. Ultimately, I believe behavior is policed by super-groups that hold the most cultural / practical power at th…

Sure rich men shit on poor / unsuccessful men, but I'm not talking about rich and powerful men exclusively. In general, successful people are generally more type A so I think that trend is again pretty universal. Men clearly do defend other men's bad behaviors, hell look at this sub as an example. But regardless men don't have as much cultural power in the current cultural zeitgeist so the outcomes aren't as obvious or significant and the messaging isn't amplified the same way.

While at face value this is not untrue, keep in mind that's pretty much true of any in-group. Sex, Gender, Sexuality, race, and religion. Generally no in-group is that great at policing there own behaviors. Thats pretty universal. I think really though, groups that get attacked the most for the behaviors are the groups that lack cultural power currently. Which, to an extent isn't women right now, in comparison to men. But historically theses things do drastically change over time.

Looks it's defiantly not 20%. Regardless, I don't think a percentage value is relevant seeing as it's most likely a reasonable enough subset of the population to discuss.

Absolutely not! Truthfully that's a fundamental piece of what makes a liberal democracy works. Which honestly is kinda absurd but it seems like those protections have been sliding back on many fronts recently. (Looking at you America) I also think it's pretty bad as well when private businesses do it, but I'm more weak on that because there are some circumstances that seem fine in practice. Women's only gyms, ect. Some of it is intersectional as well where different groups rights might conflict …

Didn't even know that was a thing. Looked it up and what the fuck, that's the shittiest moral position I've ever seen. And that's coming from a piece of shit weak rule utilitarian like myself.

Would passing the cost along to the father, with offer confidentially change your opinion on this?

I tend to agree with this line of argument. Really any time I here this topic brought up it really feels like this should be a service offered by default at hospitals with confidentiality, the government really doesn't need to be involved. Which in a lot of ways is already how it is, but it's should just be tweaked a bit. Although, in some areas the government actually bans this type of paternity testing which also seem a particularly awful position to take.

While I agree child safety is paramount. This is a very draconian and terrible line of reasoning if you extend it. An absurd extension of this argument could it be, is it reasonable to execute someone if it had better outcomes for a particular child? The answer is obviously no. Where do you draw the line between a child's benefit and another person's suffering? And to answer your question: I believe everyone should play by the same rules, and while the outcome may be worse for the child the impa…

Paternity fraud seems incredibly hard to criminalize and realistically it's probably not in the best interest for society to go that route. Testing seems incredibly cheap and reasonable in comparison.

It depends on the jurisdiction. Hell, in Frances it's outright illegal for a father to paternity test his child without consent from the mother as well for privacy reasons. Generally though, the issue is in quite a few legal jurisdictions just signing a birth certificate is enough to get you on the hook for child support indefinitely, even if you could prove the child is genetically not yours. Which could be up to 21+ years, again depending on where you live and what kind of legal representation…

Nah, men do this too. Frankly, 80%+ of the population can't ever see themselves as the bad guys and will cognitivly distort situations to support this idea.

I really disagree that women, at least in my age bracket (25-30) take up the majority of house work. That could be also due to where I live in Atlantic Canada, or just my personal experience. For my last 3 relationship I was both the "home maker" and the primary financial earner. And after discussing with many of my friends that's seems like a pretty common situation. I've actually had to leave one of my previous girlfriends since she simply was too much of a slob and expected me to do everythin…

I legitimately can't think of a single circumstance for which being angry at a person is justified for them rejecting you. However I am sympathetic to people that are angry at their situation, but ultimately no one owes you anything in life and I think a lot of people would feel better if they accepted that.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/24 10:07 PM

While true, I don't think they would be nearly as focused around an immutable body characteristics which is a uniquely damaging insult.

Also potato skins are absolutely packed with vitamins and minerals, notably potassium. Smaller potatoes have more surface area for skin, so it's safe to assume that goes even further. Purple potatoes are supposedly pack powerful antioxidants, and generally potatoes are very low on the glycemic index considering they are a starchy side. Assuming you aren't drenching them in butter, cheese and salt. Potatoes are an excellent choice. If anyone is looking for a great recipe, get some small yellow po…
