This is the first actually decent comment I've seen-- kudos to you. I honestly agree with the idea of decriminalizing prostitution, and I don't see going to a strip club or watching porn as all that bad. I have never involved myself in any of those things, but I think there are healthy ways of doing them, hence why they're fine in most circumstances. It is excess and our culture's lack of sex-positivity that tends to be the problem, along with the concern that people may get taken advantage of. …

Opt outs of what? But as far as banning abortion, I don't think that's a good answer, at the very least because if there's health or financial concerns, then the mother's well-being could be at stake, along with the rest of the existing family unit, potentially. Edit: To add, I suppose I didn't even cover what to do if the man and woman already have a kid...

If a pregnancy was unwanted, why do women get the chance to “fix their mistake” while men get no chance to do the same? Okay, so, I'm trying to logic this out and I think I'm stuck on the difference between what a woman has to contribute to a pregnancy versus what a man contributes. If a woman wants to keep her pregnancy, but the man doesn't, she has to go forward with the birthing process and subsequent raising of the child; whereas if a woman doesn't want the pregnancy and the man does, the wo…

they didn't suffer like their ancestors, they were moulded by our culture into behaving this way Again, I feel that we can agree that our culture now plays a role in why women are currently saying some truly awful things, but I disagree that this is the only reason why. Just as women have normalized, accepted, and encouraged them being treated as servants throughout history, they have also protested it throughout history. The key difference now, I think, is that the internet has allowed all side…

I agree, to an extent. People are getting too comfortable with the idea that it's okay to say terrible things about men. I see it as a sort of backlash as a result of thousands of years of women keeping opinions to themselves, but I'm often genuinely afraid that people are starting to lose their humanity with all the horrible things they say nowadays. I just hope it dies down quickly so society can move on to having a more true equality among the sexes.

There's a commenter here who posted a video that you replied to which I watched, and that may affect my answer slightly. However, it seems to me that women who are drawn to assholes don't want their behavior but do want them. Something-something the power of love something-something. Women thinking they can fix men, or men thinking they can fix women is a problem as old as time, and it keep wayyyy too many dysfunctional couples coming back to each other even if they thought they were really done…

I will not argue with you on Freud, seeing as how you appear to have definitely studied his works. I applaud you on that education, but I encourage you to look beyond his views, as they are antiquated. Trying to justify your views based solely on his works is like trying to argue that Marie Curie's work is all that we need to understand radioactivity. Yes, both are important figures who made great strides in advancing their fields, but neither one should be the only focus when formulating sound …

You might have to be more specific than just quoting me... but, if you would like for me to elaborate, I'm more or less just agreeing with what OP said: pursuing sex, in and of itself, is natural. Confusing pursuit of sex with pursuit of intimacy, etc., is a common problem, but regardless, sex comes with baggage, which is where OP and I would disagree (and is the point that I went on to make).

Wanting it is normal. It is truly independent from love. Okay, you "got me" here. Surprise! Women have libidos... as anyone who views women as people already knew. I mean, seriously dude, the only women I've met who don't want to have sex are asexual. The problem is when you equate sex with intimacy, or love, or any number of positive, uplifting emotional experiences. Sex is, in and of itself, a physical act, but it comes with baggage that we have to acknowledge if we want society to move past t…

I can see this account has been deleted, but for the sake of clarity, the ultimatum is the problem. Trying to make your partner choose between anything and you is not a hallmark of a healthy relationship, hence why I said that you should make your opinion on OnlyFans clear from the get-go. I would recommend this for any deal-breakers that you can think of: as soon as you think that you're getting into a serious relationship, you have to sit down and talk to your partner to make sure you're on th…

Just to throw in my quick opinion: it bothers me personally because of the idea that my partner is fantasizing about someone else. I've never had problems with it logically, but I can't help how I feel. I just don't let those feelings control me. As long as porn doesn't become an obsession or encroach upon sex, I'm fine with it. To briefly touch on some things that I've seen you say in replies: I think it's dumb that you're not okay with a potential gf having an OnlyFans, but then again, I would…

I unfortunately don't have much to add here, except that "it is what it is" is a bs argument. Facts are facts, but what you're talking about are interpretations of those facts. Case in point: despite the fact that we have clear evidence ("numbers") supporting vaccination as the safest route to being rid of COVID-19, there's millions of people who choose not to get vaccinated because they interpret the evidence differently... and wrongly.

This sub always knows how to simultaneously make me laugh and cry. I find that, like many other posts, this post is incredibly deceptive, because it sounds simple enough: if a woman has had a "better man" then the man she's with needs to move on. It makes sense on the surface (as you said in one of your comments, the point is for the man to better himself so that he can be the best a woman has). Counterpoint: being better isn't as simple as that because everyone has different wants and needs. Fo…

I'm going to say no, but I'm not sure what your context is for that question..? Covering oneself isn't a bad thing. I tend to favor clothes that "cover" me more, but I feel fully capable of engaging in romantic conversations. However, I like having the opportunity to occasionally wear something risqué without being shamed other people.

Fellow commenter mentioned some specific denominations, but I've been to churches outside of those denominations and still heard purity culture being preached. I think it's gotten a lot better recently, where people are finally realizing that they need to fix this, but Christianity and Christians are still pretty bad with subliminal and not-so-subliminal messaging that girls need to cover themselves and "boys will be boys." I definitely experience a lot of this because I live in an area dominate…

I believe that very few people are happily married in the sense that they keep the same feelings they've always had for the person that they choose to marry. I've been in a committed relationship for almost 6 years and I've already been through ups and downs without being married yet. I'd say the main idea of having a happy marriage isn't what people expect it is: it's not always being happy in the marriage, because being happy all the time isn't possible in life, let alone in relationships. Mar…

I think there's a pretty even amount of both, and it depends more on their personalities than gender. For example, my parents and my SO's parents are traditionalists, where each mother stayed at home to care care of the kids and each father worked to support the family. My SO's mother was actually making more money than her husband when she quit to raise the kids. Meanwhile, my SO and I both have the mindset that we can and should contribute financially to our family. If it ends up working bette…

I think that everyone does, except the people on this subreddit. Some people here think that they want a LTS, but what they need is therapy.

Not exactly what someone told me, but something I watched. The Netflix show Big Mouth vastly helped me with understanding both sides by putting their actions into a relatable context. Idk why it was that show in particular that finally got through to me, but yeah.

If this is your viewpoint on women, then it's understandable that you can't find any women "with more to offer." Something that has done wonders for me has been approaching women first on their terms, then slowly setting boundaries, either verbally or implied, to ensure they understand where I'm coming from. It's okay to express your emotions. Also, if you try to be friends first, it often helps with understanding what kind of a person they are before getting into a relationship with someone who…
