I would rather be alone than do any of that.

Why is this guy popping off? The headline says ANYONE, I would assume that covers both men and women.

Hell yeah, way to go! (For both grad school and fighting the urge to contact an ex!!)

That’s totally fair. For me being able to see value in some of his messages doesn’t mean I don’t also see the times he’s up his own ass. Like most things it’s a matter of sifting through the shit and finding what resonates with the individual. Any life coach, regardless of gender is capable of phrasing things in ways I like and dislike, so having our own critical eyes on their messages is helpful to, hopefully, not turn a message or a speaker into any kind of dogma.

I’ve listened to his podcast and it does sound like he is doing the work. So while his audience does contain a lot of woman he does seem to address men and call them out as well. The episodes with Amy Young have been the ones I found most interesting.

“Thinking he would change his mind” is the toughest one. Felt that.

Trust me, if I could go back in time and kick every dude in the nuts who called me fat when I was thin I would love to!

I was replying to the question above mine. Jokes clearly don’t read well on this platform. What was your reason for giving LVM more chances than they deserved? Mine was orgasms.

It was a rhetorical question.

Ouroboros? They know they are trash so as soon as someone treats them like they aren’t trash they show just how trash they can be...just a theory.

I don’t know if I would call an ex I had a FWB but we were friends for nearly a year before anything physical happened. We would have these moments of connection in conversation that were so intense and then one of us would pull away before anything happened, so the tension was building for a longtime. A few months after I got out of a LTR he and I finally hooked up and did that for another year with neither of us trying to define it, things were good as they were because I didn’t feel the sex h…

After me too broke I had a conversation with a male friend who i would consider very HV. He doesn’t have an issue with treating women like people but even his male brain couldn’t wrap around the idea of “well yeah, now men have to think a more about their actions and the possible consequences and how they could effect someone long term” and he was like, “that sounds exhausting!” And I was like, “yeah, it is, welcome to the club!”

The top post in this thread is literally about being disgusted about period blood, a handful of comments are about others experiences with men being the same way when they’ve been on their period... you’re not wrong in your massage about him being a bag of shit for not hanging out with a girl who he states is “part of his friend group” while she is on her period because that means no sex, but saying “no one cares about the period sex” isn’t correct. I didn’t go into the original post so I’m sure…

She’s not. She’s doing girlfriendly things for a guy who isn’t her boyfriend.

Guy is a dick, girl is doing pickme behavior. Why was this posted here? One more time for the ladies in the back IF YOU THINK FUCKING A GUY AND DOING GIRLFRIENDLY THINGS FOR HIM WILL MAKE HIM VIEW YOU AS A GIRLFRIEND YOU ARE WRONG! If you don’t want to be treated like a option than don’t put yourself in a position to be treated like one. If you want to have casual sex understand that means you will be treated casually!

Losing weight did the opposite for me. I think the healthier mind set that came with getting older was the best thing for getting over my pickme ways. I remember being a size 4-6 and exes telling me I was too chubby, so I lost weight and all of a sudden the flood gates opened and I had men following me around, hitting on me, physically picking me up at bars, all things that made me feel incredibly unsafe and insecure in a way I hadn’t felt before. I started to gain weight as a kind of security b…

Haha. This post reminded me of the time an ex of mine told me I wasn’t pretty enough to date him because I didn’t dress up to go to dive bars and “other girls he dated put more effort into looking nice for him.”I told him usually men who have that kind of standard usually hold themselves to it too and he screamed and said that was the meanest thing I ever said to him. eye roll hahaha. Hard pass on LVM and their dramatic bullshit they want to put on anyone but themself. Side bar, when I did dress…

You’re spinning what I said so you can pull your own agenda into it and comment according to your own thoughts and feelings. That’s about as much of a response as I give to this comment.

Dating strategy and leveling up aren’t mutually exclusive. So it’s weird to me that we choose to separate the groups like that. (this is just me thinking “out loud”) I’m pretty sure that’s why the saying, “how can you love anyone if you don’t even love yourself “ is as popular as it is. Usually we apply it to LVM, but the more I’ve studied and looked into my own boundaries within dating the more I see how they play a huge role within my whole life. My boundaries used to be non existent (in terms…

It would be nice to normalize the success in female lives outside of just the ones found in shutting down shitty men.

I don’t want to hear about “every time” someone does anything. Do I want to know what someone’s workout/diet/steps to feeling like themself, recent book they enjoyed, something that made them view themselves, dating, holding a boundary in a different way, or when they hit a goal in their career... YES! I want to see females gloat about themselves and their accomplishments, not just as of pertains to a shitty guy or a bad date. I want to celebrate with other women who are more focused on themselv…

I’m not expecting a shift or a total transformation, as I do understand how the kinds of post I’m referring to are necessary and helpful when making the transition into a HVF. If we have our own interest, hobbies, and success like the handbook states I would assume a lot less post about shutting down LVM would exist. It would be nice to see what everyone is doing to become the HVF we claim to be and less about bad dates and shitty tinder convos. I mean it’s tinder, does anyone really find a HVM …

Totally agree it’s perfectly normal and an important part of knowing ones worth and how to live within that and boundaries. I think I’ve just personally outgrown that phase and am looking for the next step, rather than feeling some kind of regression in my own progress due to no longer getting angry. Thanks so much for the recommendation! This was exactly what I was hoping for.

I guess after seeing post after post shutting down LVM behavior it starts to feel like too much time and energy is still being focused on them. Boundaries are important in dating, I guess I would like to see most post about our own boundaries and deal breakers rather than only hearing about the times they are being tested. Life is always going to test us, LVM will always exist and knowing our worth needs to be celebrated more than pointing out the former, IMHO.

Totally agree with you. I want to see both sides of these issues, I don’t want to feel like I’m just sticking myself in a space that’s just complaining about one side of the equation, at that point the only thing that makes me different from the men who do that is the fact I’m a woman. I want advice and a group that I can turn to for advice in both the fuck ups of men as well as myself. I haven’t been a member here for long but I am for sure going to make a better point of upvoting the post wher…

Sounds like someone could use some therapy to establish better communication of needs/wants and also to learn a few things about boundaries. Until then, he’ll always blame the women who don’t put all their eggs in his basket.

This sounds like it came from a guy who’s dating profile is mostly memes and an awkward shirtless mirror selfie.

I think it depends. If you catch him texting someone “after 2 weeks in a committed relationship” you have you honestly assess if he’s running game on you or if you’re being insecure in a place where you need to learn to not be insecure. i.e. if the person he is texting is just a friend who happens to be female.
