At least my ex waited a few years before these money issues started to be bigger issues. I don't think I ever had any money problems related to him in the first year. In the first year we started dating, he literally would spend his last dollars on dates and buying me flowers. If this is happening already, I second you, she should run!

They're not just saying it's higher than the documented cases they're also putting a number there and not just any number, they wrote a million. They could have left it at saying the number is higher than reported. Yes, they are not saying it's a fact, but we go after companies for implying that their product does something it doesn't. So why are these organizations which are supposed to be raising awareness and campaigning for at risk people, why are they using such shady tactics? It's just bad…

Yeh, but I studied crime, its usually that people assume it's much higher and yeh it can be, but it's also not as bad as you would think. Overall, crime has gone down a lot. Interpersonal violent crime is quite a small percentage of crime overall and violent crimes committed by a stranger are even moreso. Potentially over a million and one million people are different but not all different. Let's say every year 500,000 people get trafficked. Where are they coming from? Where are they going? How …

For example, human trafficking. This organisation is saying a million people are trafficked every year, but ICE shows nothing even close to that. I don't understand who it helps when the numbers are wrong. I guess it's meant to drive us to action but when it's proven to be wrong, the people who were trying to help end up being hurt more.

If you've got time, I'd recommend the podcast you're wrong about. It's a great breakdown of a lot of facts we believe about different issues like child kidnapping. I am a bit busy at the moment, but I will reply back again with some stuff later! I just wanted to recommend a good podcast. Off to study ☺️

Yeh Ive come to learn that a lot of the big facts we tout are not entirely accurate or in same cases just crazy bad wrong!

Automatic swipe left on anyyything negative against women in a profile. If you're willing to write it and waste your 500 characters then you're definitely toxic in some way. And anything beyond a personality trait, hobby mention of what they're looking for is usually a swipe left too.

Yeh, I don't even understand how this conversation would go wherein someone tries to convince me I don't deserve the nice thing. Maybe if it's expensive and outside my budget, but then it would be "you deserve it but not right now cause it's bad financial decision....maybe buy X that is cheaper or do Y instead"?

I know that I have not always chosen the best men to associate with, but WTF kind of people are out there that you have to remind us of this?!??!? I mean even my most deplorable ex still tried to give me nice things (although to be fair, he gave himself nice things more).

Honestly, I had another GIRL tell me this when I was a teen. It's also culture that teaches women this. I realize now that girl (who was at the time my bff) had a tonne of self respect and confidence problems. I was so disheartened hearing my friend and ally say that to me and then look at me like "this comment is for you". It took a long time before I stopped hearing it in my head. We gotta build each other up and break down comments like this!

ESPECIALLY when she's said that she doesn't like it. I mean ok, if she was jumping in and making jokes about it too, or joking back in the same way, but she wasn't. I am so sad for her. I can maayybe see in his mind he's like they're jokes because I think you're so beautiful it's absurd to think you're not. But she's said to his face I hate this and he ignored her feelings and is now shocked Pikachu that she's so upset she left. I agree, this is disgusting! She's supposed to be the person he cho…

Definitely because my high school friend did it when she was......28? She said the doctor only told her to book another appointment in 2 weeks to think about it (after her original consultation) and then shortly after she went in for the procedure. She's based in BC, in the lower mainland. I could ask her what clinic she went to if you're not too far away. I assume she went to Options for Sexual health tho, since they're the main clinics for sexual health stuff.

When I was in the depths of my "bad times" after my ex appalling broke up with me, I read some advice saying essentially "when someone doesn't choose you, then you turn and you RUN in the opposite direction. Forward is the only way, don't wait for someone who doesn't want you". It was very helpful.

Yeh, I agree. I had a dude who I matched with say this line like 3-4 times right after each other. We were talking about meeting up and what we were looking for, and he kept saying it "I'm not that great of a guy", "I'm not that funny"....so I said Ok, no I believe you. I'm going to unmatch" Another guy (who's photos were like fit but I know it hot), he opened with "I'm not very funny and I'm not really interested in meeting unless it's to netflix and chill." 🤣🤣

A good quick response I use for any sexist remarks from anyone is "it's (insert year)". Boss says women shouldn't help move the desks -- it's 2020! My coworker can't believe I don't want kids - it's 2020!

I wish I had this level of poise to be able to retort to my best friend in high school telling me that she hated girls who acted like they were all that. When I pointed out that I did that, she said that she didn't like that about me. I know now that she had a lot of insecurities but like wtf high school bff??? I'm glad my current bff's build me up!

I correct them "females is for animals at the zoo". Literally never had a dude not be a bit like "🙄" about it when I make them say women.

It's cause I'm really short. 6y are almost taller than me. 😜 Every guy is tall compared to me.

I remember I hadn't even met this guy and he kept saying this. Like at least 3-4 times so I just said "no, you're right". And told him bye. He was trying to walk it back but I just gave him the line a couple people have already said: if someone tells you about themselves believe them.
