i can't say for sure but i would say one of the reasons is because most people don't think consensual drunk sex is rape( i don't think it is as long as the person isn't passed out or "cant stand up" drunk but the law says otherwise). not the only reason mind you, just one. i really can't think of many others to be honest.

for some women BC is a necessity though. i needed it to regulate my periods as i was going 9-10 months at a time with out one. that's not really a good thing. there are also other medical issues that BC helps with(the one that jumps to mind is polycystic ovarian disorder). i know a lot of people want to think women only go on it so they have copious amounts of sex and for some that might be the case but it isn't always true.
