For me it’s joint pain due to ulcerative colitis. I don’t have actual arthritis but the inflammation in my body causes issues with my large joints. I am totally medication free because I don’t have a large intestine anymore and therefore no “active” disease but I still have hip and knee pain that make it difficult to stand for long periods or the movements of transit is painful. Yeah. It’s frustrating that people in this thread aren’t acknowledging that some disabilities, MANY disabilities, are non-visible. Obviously if someone does have a disability, regardless of visibility, they should be polite when asking and others should be understanding. I’m also someone with non-visible disabilities and sometimes I do need to ask to sit. Sometimes I also get dirty looks when I don’t immediately vacate my seat for someone who is visibly disabled.
