Maybe a minor. Plenty of places will hire someone as long as they have a degree. Its quite disingenuous to act as if it is utterly impossible to get a job other than a professor job as a sociology major.

Yeah I read a study that explained away 2/3rds of the 22 cent gap. It then set up the argument that there isn't an explanation for the remaining 7 percent. So the researchers made an argument that on average a person that negotiates a salary earns 7% more than having not negotiated. Also it stated that women were much less likely to negotiate. Thus the 7% gap could be explained through the lack of female salary negotiation. Pretty interesting study to read.

I see your point to promote the videos that tear apart the bad ad. But I feel like linking the video in question is a nice sign that are more people out there fighting against the mantra of unequal pay.

Like commericial they made making fun of craft beers and wheat beers. Funny thing is that Budweiser sold a wheat beer at one point and owns a part or all of many craft beers. So their ad campaign is more or less a cannibalization tactic.

Of course I agree with the civil rights movement. But that was led by peoople not businesses. So thats really an unfair comparison. The businesses didnt change until legal and societal pressure was applied. Then they adapted because they had too. Same with this case. Society appears to be okay with unequal gym time so the gym gets away with it. So again in the absence of external pressures why offer equal products if you can get away with it.

His issue is not with the woman only hours. His issue is the fact that he pays the same as woman and gets less gym time. So he asked them at first to lower the rate for men to offset the less time they said no. Therefore it is discrimination because the service received is not the same due to gender.

Totally on your side of your argument here. I just wanted to point that the article from Wikipedia is essentially saying that intersex depends on physical expression of genes. Physical expression of genes can be influenced by many factors like environmental, genetic, chemical, biological etc. It actually does not even go towards disproving the binary relationship of genetics. haha

I have read this argument multiple times and have tried to make sense of it and it simply does not make sense. Binary means two. Binary relationships also indicate mutually exclusive relationships. I.e. in the terms of genetics a male cannot be a female again talking in terms of genotypes. If they do not fit into that relationship then they must by definition be in a third category. Binary means two options. If I have the option of picking between a or b. I cannot pick C it simply is not a factual option. If the situation cannot be a strict binary situation then it is not a binary situation. Thus you must present a third outcome/alternative.

If you mean that people can never say with absolute certainty what their genetic gender is because they wont see their karyotype then yes. They basically had to im sure the national base of the fraternity was threatening to pull their charter if they didnt sign. Plus with all the negative publicity surrounding them it was a simple P.R. move.

I think you have to look at it as a farmer and a farm. The farmer would be the male and the farm would be the female. In this scenario the farmer would spread his seed in the farm expecting to crow a crop (baby) and thus the farm grows a crop (baby). I honestly feel like if this was a man and a girl, with the man being 18 and the girl 14 or 15. Then there would be a larger outcry to condemn the man without even really checking the facts.
