I'd agree that the case shouldn't be smeared out in the media as much, and his family should be off-limits, but Kavanaugh is not on trial. He is nominated for highest position in one of the three branches of government in the US. He'll never go on trial and he won't lose his old job. Someone under consideration for such a high position, which is for life, should be subject to very close scrutiny.

There is something to be said about that. The moon has a lower escape velocity, and the hard vacuum makes it way easier to build something like a launch loop or a rail gun. Any material just barely escaping the moon's gravity would hit the Earth at 11 km/s, so a 100 ton rock would have a kinetic energy of 2 kiloton, a tiny atom bomb. I've been toying with the idea for a hard science fiction story, and it seems doable with current technology.

I have only anecdotical evidence, but in Russia masculinity is extremely important, which hurts both genders. Men are supposed to pay for everything, and provide for their family, while the women have to do everything to look good. It's like a caricature of our Western system. I don't think there's anything wrong with a small amount of violence in cause of inappropriate touching. That's just not OK, both for women and men. I can somewhat, though absolutely not agree with, violence as teaching tool. I think a lot of people have been so mad at kids that they could just strike them down where they stand. I love kids, but there are those moments that you just wonder if they're intentionally trying to get your blood to boil. I hate the 'argument' against pornography that it objectifies women. It's the complete opposite! In straight pornography, the man is nothing but a tool, a penis you should substitute your own for while the woman is what it's all about. I know a lot more female porn stars by name than I do male. Yes, men look at porn to look at female bodies and faces for their pleasure, but that doesn't mean the women are an 'object' in that quest for satisfaction.

I got physically sick when they did it to the baby. What sane human could possible cut into any part of a baby while he screaming of pain? Why don't they anesthesize them? This feels like mass hysteria.
