Nah, as far as I understand it's pretty safe as long as you wait 1-2 months in between. On one hand, nothing is always better than something. On the other hand, many fun things carry a bit of risk, e.g. skydiving, snowboarding and horse riding. Not a reason to stop skydiving completely in my opinion.

This is a good start: https://dancesafe.org/drug-information/is-mdma-neurotoxic/

I don't think you need to worry if it's only these 6-7 times. Probably best to not do that again though! From what I've read, limit it to once a month or once every two months. Also the "standard" dose has increased over the last few years from what I've heard... used to be around 100 mg, but nowadays people go for 250 or even higher. Sounds crazy to me, the neurotoxic effects are probably dose-dependent so try to find the lowest dose that still gives you the fun. 100-150 should be enough. :o) M…

Cannot upvote this enough. MDMA can have some pretty dark permanent side effects if taken too often, according to the research I have read.

Not the OP, but I can recommend three: The Bhagavad Gita - ancient Hindu text, almost like the Bible. Much shorter, though. There are tons of translations, commentaries and free versions online, just google it. The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle. If you like the above, check out Practicing the Power of Now, by the same author. The subreddits recommended by rubygeek are golden. I'd like to add r/yoga as well. Edit: 1+1+1=3

But my own personal LMR was alleviated just by telling myself how good it will feel to go after what I want; not to get what I want, but just to go after it. This is gold. If you want more, check out the Bhagavad Gita, especially the parts on Karma Yoga, and The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

Came here to say this. Nice job of putting it all together!

I think many people misunderstand "be yourself" for "keep on doing whatever you are doing". I know that I did for many years. Nothing changed, of course. The trick is that "be yourself" takes a lot of conscious effort to start with, to find out what is really you and what is just a facade to keep others happy. Go talk to that girl because you're excited about it, not because you want to look cool in front of your friends. The thing to note here is that excitement is a positive emotion, while loo…

You have so many wonderful things to discover if you let emotions take a more prominent role in your life. You will probably look back at emotional experiences as positive and meaningful. My background is similar to yours. Letting in emotions has been the single most positive choice in my life. It has also made me much more vulnerable. I thought that would be a weakness; it turned out to be life at full throttle. Good luck, have fun!

The girl your flirting with is not interested in a logical conversation and wants to ride an emotional roller coaster with you. I wish I could make all my nerd friends understand this.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying things fully. The danger is when you need the good feelings. Feelings and moods come and go, both good and bad. Focus on the process, not the results.

How do you keep from becoming hooked to this attention? As you have already discovered, the problem is not the happiness and joy, but becoming hooked to it. In hindu and buddhist tradition, this is called attachment (not to be confused with attachment theory). It is OK to enjoy something, but when you crave the feeling of enjoyment, you are attached to it. Attachment leads to fear of loss and all sorts of other problems. Overcoming my attachment to success has helped me immensely, especially whe…

look at your attitudes and find out where your reluctance to be vulnerable and honest comes from I like this. Well phrased!

1.) Go to the gym, get into a schedule. Don't burn yourself out with a schedule that's too aggressive... just get comfortable with the gym. I just want to chime in on the physical exercise part. Physical exercise is an absolute necessity to becoming happy and healthy, but you don't have to go the weight lifting route. I tried some different sports, and it turns out I really like long-distance running plus a crossfit-type exercise afterwards. Running is actually addictive for me, so it's easy to …
