Even though I'm in a happy relationship I still hold the belief that you can be happy being single as much as you can being in a relationship. What people say is to follow your passion or hobby and hopefully meet someone but I think it's pretty idealistic. I do identify as a feminist by the dictionary definition where I think men and women should be treated equally. I don't support the idea that men should support a woman after marriage or vice versa. Society puts a lot of pressure on men to be the breadwinners and be the only or main mean of financial support and I think it's wrong. He was in grad school when we got married. What mattered to me was that he was very ambitious, smart, and going after his dreams. His eventual goal is to become a professor which I think is a respectful goal. We both work but I earned more than triple his salary as a mechanical engineer. It was easy to work as a team and am very happy the debt is gone. I knew about the debt and the amount before going into the marriage so it wasn't a surprise. We are very happy together.
