I've never known a child to need to learn how to be affectionate- they're affectionate with those they're comfortable around, and with others, you should respect that the child doesn't know them well enough to be comfortable showing affection towards them. The operative word is "FORCING"! "FORCING" children to be affectionate when they don't want to be tells them that setting their own boundaries with their bodies isn't important and does not need to be respected. I don't see what you aren't seeing in that.

Okay, but the article isn't saying the kiss itself is sexual assault? It's just talking about teaching your child that they're autonomous when it comes to their body, helping them set boundaries when they're in potentially dangerous situations.

The article isn't saying the kiss itself is sexual assault? It's saying that routinely forcing kids to do something affectionate that they don't want to do, for whatever reason, tells them it's normal to do physical things you don't want to, which makes them more reluctant to set boundaries in a real dangerous situation.
