| 3 | I got looking through the Irish Citizens Information website and I came across the criminal offence of incest. Turns out the maximum sentence is life imprisonment if you're male and if you're female you only receive a maximum sentence of 7 years.Thanks for that. It explains how there is a legal precedent for allowing them to discriminate (although I find their reasoning to be specious), but it makes no sense in this incest case.
