This is why boys come back from the military as men. Generalizations abound... The word ain't the thing, yo. I know several "military-men", ("Marines", specifically), who are "beta as fuck". I'd argue at least one of them has been "friend-zoned" by his wife. You must be confrontational and risk-taking. Okay. What's "manly" about blindly taking orders, picking up a weapon, traveling across the world and shooting at people you've never met? I'm not suggesting the above description is the totality …

The bf wasn't meant to think the rule applied to him as well! Asymmetrical relationships. Much like man-and-state.

I'm not sure what you mean... "Friend-zoned", to me, indicates A's viewpoint in-relation-to B -- friend, fuck-buddy, etc. I'm not aware of any feelings I'd call "friend-zoned". I don't say, "I'm feeling awfully friend-zoned today". I also dislike the dichotomy between "fuck-buddy" and "friend-zone", as if those binary options are all that exist between a man and woman.

This. I see modern-day "marriage" as a wholly-unnecessary contract between you, her, and the state.

You're letting them down too hard and they mad To me this implies that, had the OP acted differently, the woman in this scenario would have also acted differently. While that's very possible, I feel that the way it's phrased indicates the OP somehow "screwed up". As in, "oh, had you just done this a little bit differently, she wouldn't have done that", which no-one can possibly say. But I could be totally off-base.

You're letting them down too hard and they mad How a person acts is their choice. To indicate OP was "too x, too y, not-enough x, not-enough y", is to verbally-remove responsibility from the person who chose to act in whatever way.

Hmm... this is why I dislike "knowing" about actors. That Joseph Gordon-Levitt guy also played in 500 Days of Faggotry, I mean 500 Days of Summer. I'll give it a shot though... some-time...

causation does not imply correlation Wut? If one can demonstrate that A causes B, necessarily A is correlated to B. I think you meant to say, "correlation does-not equal causation".

There's that synchronicity again! NVC, praxeology, general-semantics, and now TRP. I've said it before and I'll say it right now: when independent actors, acting of their own volition, across great distances in space-time, come to strikingly similar conclusions, I believe one has arrived at something that could be called "truth".

You asked clarifying questions of yourself and then proceeded to answer them. Decent. I'd ask for further clarification, however, and I'd ask-and-ask-and-ask until I got what I like to call an operational-definition. That is, a definition composed of a finite, definite, repeatable, learn-able set of human-behaviors involving concrete referents. Because everything else is "just words". (taxes, country, citizen, laws, etc.) Off-the-cuff example: I learned how to solve quadratic-equations using the…

What do you mean? What's your goal in saying what you said? By what operational-definition are you defining success? My impression is you're trying to "shut me down", by declaring something akin to, "that's just semantics" or "you're just arguing semantics". What, if not the meaning a person is imputing to the words used, is being "argued"? You're going to have to do a lot better than that if you want to play on my court.

Brits ... are not allowed to defend themselves even under provaction and attack. Not allowed? As in, requires permission? One adult asking another adult for permission? Are you a fucking child? One can do whatever they possess the means to do. What I'm hearing is that a bad-ass gang called the "government" will royally fuck your shit up if you disobey their demands. Call it what it is.

Collectivism, bro. "We" don't do shit. Individuals acting of their own volition do shit. "We" didn't "cure diseases". "We" didn't "walk on the moon". Very, very few individuals make break-throughs. Then wankers like you come in and claim credit by way of abusing words.

She can't change the way you feel. Take that and go global with it. If "people" stopped saying exactly the opposite of this, in indefinitely-numbered ways, the world would be a better place. You own your emotions. To declare that someone else makes you feel a certain way is a fucking lie.

And you don't seem to be advocating giving trust to a person before they have earned it. Aye! I sense sanity lies within you. Keep it up. :)

My point stands. A fool may give their trust to a person who then abuses that trust. A soloist rock-climber may slip. A person nearby hears the climber's cries-for-help. The two have never met. Will the person in danger lend their trust long enough to accept help from the stranger? On-and-on... words. Round-and-round they go.

My statements stand. All action, whether paying-for-dinner, or doing jumping-jacks, has a cost. The cost of every action, is every other action not-taken.

Don't pay for pussy - don't pay in any form. That makes 0 sense. In simply looking in the direction of a woman, one has "paid" in "some form". The cost of every action is every action not taken. As Mises put it: "Action always involves both taking, and renunciation.".

That's legitimate triggering. No. It's conditioned triggering. Responding to an event now, as if this new event were identical to an old event, is non-legitimate. Your buddy would likely benefit from some semantic-reconditioning. Korzybski developed general-semantics in-part to help mercenaries who participated in WWI. edit I love it. Act like a beta and down-vote instead of engaging me directly.

That means teachers are helping your raise them. You aren't doing it yourself. Words. If you want to travel this avenue, why not do it like a fucking man? (Which is to say, I'm going to exacerbate your argument to better illustrate its ridiculousness.) Is he making his own clothes? Did he kill the meat he's eating? Did he build the house he's living in? Invent and construct the refrigerator, stove, AC? It's called the division of labor. Instead of asking what the speaker meant by "I raise two ki…

... the meaning of words is... No. Words do-not mean things. ... the perception of both the speaker and listener. "Meaning" lies within the person speaking. The speaker's meaning doesn't change based on the listener's perception of what is being communicated. I'm really not understanding your point here. Go back further. Actually, if you look up the dictionary definitions, slut means prostitute more than whore does. "slut means" No, it doesn't. It is more accurate to say, "when I use the term 's…
