Have you heard the phrase "your right to swing your fists ends where my nose begins"? It's all well and good for parents to have significant rights in how they choose to raise their children. Maybe most societies, especially in the West, value the right of the parents to choose what happens to their children over the government? They don't. A limited subset of children are protected from genital mutilation, regardless of the desires of the parents, in much of the world. Unfortunately, many children remain unprotected, as the map is intended to convey.

Toxic masculinity and rape culture are also very real, but they are a lot more nuanced than people on the internet usually describe them. If you hear out the good faith version of what these things mean, they 1) sound a lot less crazy than you'd think and 2) aren't about blaming men or victimizing/adulating women. It's not the defense's obligation to even suggest reasons why the accuser has made the accusation. All the defense has to do is generate "reasonable doubt". They do not need to prove anything, conclusively or otherwise, they just need to poke holes in the prosecution's case. And, yes, I would completely expect the defense in a criminal proceeding to mount a defense. That's not "giving permission to rape people".

Eh. People have been using gender identity as a marketing tool for a while now, there's no reason to.be especially disappointed with "Alamo Drafthouse" for jumping on the bandwagon. They've also been trying to manufacture controversy around these sorts of thing, too, as it helps to conflate actual criticism of the cynical exploitation of women it entails with the strawman outrage of imaginary "internet misogynists".
