yeah there's something to that... people pick up on authenticity even when the content is questionable. the voice tells the real story though. confidence without trying to impress hits different than performative edginess. seen musicians do both (the ones who don't care what people think usually have better stage presence)

friend met his wife through mutual musicians. took 3 months of jam sessions before they even talked outside the studio. quality over quantity for sure

my ex did this exact thing... said she needed to "talk through her feelings" about us. ended up talking herself right out of the relationship. sometimes that perspective isn't always helpful.
