They might not be intrinsically a 4 (you might not look at them and think “4”) but yes their market value is a 4. Thanks for the link, I’ll check that sub out

Reading that little interaction, she’s completely in the right (even if rude for raining on your parade). SMV means sexual MARKET VALUE. And value in any market is determined solely by what people are willing to pay (and in the case of the SMV, which people are willing to pay) — not by what the seller thinks they should pay, nor even the real intrinsic value of their goods. So if playing hand drums in the park actually gets you laid much more than before, then you can say your SMV has skyrockete…

Western civilization this, Western civilization that. Can you guys just figure out how to have sex without turning it into the fucking 95 Theses?

Long story short: designer babies + artificial wombs + androids. I’d elaborate but this is purge week

The sexlessness increase in women is primarily driven by black women (and poor women in general) having a LOT less sex. White and non-black ethnic women are actually having more sex. Meanwhile all races of men are having less sex, and it's relatively even. I can’t find the source right now but someone did a breakdown of the GSS data (someone as in an actual human being, not an incel)

I literally just posted this excerpt lol but here is novelist Michel Houellebecq talking about this more eloquently: In societies like ours sex truly represents a second system of differentiation, completely independent of money; and as a system of differentiation it functions just as mercilessly. Just like unrestrained economic liberalism, and for similar reasons, sexual liberalism produces phenomena of absolute pauperizati…

Do people actually on the forefront of STEM (i.e. not lab slaves) really have serious trouble with women? Not compared to Bartender Chad but compared to the average person. I guess Scott Aaronson did but a lot of others seem to do fine (Terence Tao apparently had groupies, Feynman and Einstein had no huge trouble getting laid a ton, Tesla was hugely popular and one of the most eligible bachelors of his time but he was a weirdo who preferred to fall in love with pigeons, Schrödinger was a womaniz…

“Most” lol The girls who have had MMF threesomes, or are open to them, are rarely the girls who make you wait very long to sleep with them (from experience) Most girls will freely volunteer this information if you ask them in a nonjudgmental context, meaning if you don’t like it then you don’t have to marry them Within the UMC demographic at least the girls doing this stuff are usually hot, so none of them have to worry about negative consequences of point 3 — they will have ZERO problem finding…

I agree, some of the incels are genuinely hilarious (the less “scientific” the better). The problem is that they’re only good at this one brand of comedy, which is still kind of alienating to the population at large, and only over slow mediums like text. Spending an hour in Photoshop making a meme about hockey Chad is unfortunately not generalizable to making wahmen laugh their way onto your penis in real-time

Indian. I definitely do much worse than my white counterpart but tbh it’s fine right now (it only bothers me during actively sexless phases). The weird thing is that I have hooked up and dated out of my race way more than within my race. Right now I’m seeing a Chinese girl (yes I know lol) and before that I hooked up with a white girl, and before her a Hispanic girl ... the last time I had any sexual interaction with another Indian was 2017, and she was half-Indian so she doesn’t really count. Copy-pasting three studies I cited in another post, against the blackpill idea of the universal Chad: Twin studies show that individuals' aesthetic preferences for faces agree with each other about 48%, and disagree with each other about 52%, even within shared environments and families. Okay great how many of them examine effect strengths, correlation coefficients, sample sizes, experiment replications, and experimental methodologies. The blackpill is not “looks matter” but rather “looks matter to an extreme degree above all else in all forms of interaction”, so your Tinder experiments and r = 0.25 studies haven’t actually proven your hypothesis, no matter how many thousands of them you post. Some of the smarter cels get this and focus more on meta-analysis data, but then they …

Yeah they do. Not liking casual sex or not liking Beyoncé doesn’t negate the entire sum force of growing up immersed in a particular culture. It’s hard to explain but I think many RP-ish tradcons would have an easier time talking to Belle Delphine, and have more in common with her, than they would a devout Mormon church mouse — despite all of their superficial adherence to traditionalism.

They want women similar to them. The men complaining the most about liberal American women are men that are very similar to liberal American women — they’re both likely secular, they consume the same media and like the same music / art, they probably have similar attitudes on sex, they go to the same universities and work in the same organizations and hang out in the same places. Repressed Mormon girls are a different beast entirely, and at that point you might as well tell the guy to go to Asia…

The retarded incels all blend together but that Dylan guy who’s in a relationship but constantly posting about how he can’t get casual sex strikes me as especially pathetic. What in the name of God are you talking about? I swear this sub’s idea of “most guys” gets more distant from reality every time I check in. “Likely”?! 2021 PPD: “Most guys under 45 have never talked to a girl and have tried to commit suicide 4 times. Or read a fucking romance novel lol? The younger terpers aren’t so bad in this regard, but the older ones sound like they straight up came out of a time machine, and what’s worse is they always write so goddamn much. Lol tbh I’ve never met an Indian guy with the EDM freak aesthetic, now that I think about it, BUT I also don’t go to festivals very often (if at all). Speaking for myself I’m South Asian and have pulled off the hipster persona pretty decently for a while, but it also naturally fits my personality/career and it really helps that I live in NYC (the art capital of America AND the casual sex capital). Last I heard the stats show that Indian men date out more than Indian women. And I would be surprised if there’s a significant difference with Hispanic women, those guys seem to stick together and their men are more compatible w/ the American brand of masculinity so there’s no culture-fit factor. So really we’re just talking about Asian women here
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/20 01:46 AM
3

This is highly dependent on the Asian guy tbh. Asian EDM freaks and art hipsters do fine and are well-placed to meet non-Asian women, Asian STEM autists are not. This isn’t to say that their white counterparts aren’t cleaning up more, because of course they are, just that it is not “0 interest” (and either way I was talking about social groups in general not just dating) With the usual caveat that I’m not talking about 5’2” fat janitors, etc.

The majority of people in all Western countries are white. If you’re an Asian / Indian girl (assuming that’s what you meant by “ethnic”) then even if you’re racially agnostic, you’ll end up mostly dating white dudes anyway. They simply are the default in the West. Compounding this is that 1) some ethnic women DO have active preferences for white dudes, 2) men chase and women select (so my above paragraph doesn’t apply in reverse), 3) ethnic men tend to stick with each other socially and don’t br…

This is never going to happen unless Western countries turn into a fascist dystopia (like actual fascist not Twitter-fascist). BUT designer babies ARE going to happen, which is essentially the same thing by a more palatable process. The question is will humanity’s standards of aesthetics also evolve upwards to match this, since gender itself won’t be around for much longer after that breakthrough. She gains some very important information: imagine being a girl, hyping up a guy in your mind for 3 whole months, and then finding out he has a micropenis and he doesn’t wash his ass. Or that he’s a porn addict who can’t ever get it up, etc. Just as importantly, she’s one step closer to being a normal person, instead of a high-strung weirdo who keeps hard months-long timelines around sex in the year 2020. She may not realize the benefits of this but they will exist.

Of course not. If you subscribe to TRP, Schopenhauer distilled their entire philosophy down to a five-page essay two centuries ago, before TRP even existed (“On Women”). And long before him there were many others. Like red-pilled Aristotle: "The relation of male to female is by nature a relation of superior to inferior and ruler to ruled." And blue-pilled Plato: "Women and men have the same nature [...] save insofar as the one is weaker and the other is stronger." And you even had purple-pilled …

I found out about the pillosphere in 2015, and I’ve periodically descended into it a couple times a year since then. This is my first time posting in it, or spending this much extended time in it. I like the unfiltered raw id of this place, as well as all of the antagonism and extremism, and I like spitting my own hot takes into the world and getting high on the fumes of my own witticisms. And frankly — as someone who had a very weird and roundabout path to social development — this place makes …

The Departed was the movie that got me into cinema, as a kid. I still remember the theater gasping when (SPOILERS) Sgt. Queenan fell off the roof lol. I was 12 years old and it was the first time I had ever seen a story like that. I don’t think any of those directors hold a candle to Marty. Although Villenueve comes closest — BR2049 is the OTHER movie I saw three times in theaters, this past decade lol. As far as young directors go my favorite up-and-comers are the Safdie brothers (Uncut Gems, G…

Age 25: 0-9 is low, 10-24 is normal, 25+ is high. N-count here includes all sex acts not just penetration. Note that I live in Manhattan and I had a very incestuous extended friendgroup in college, so my standards may be skewed higher than most.

His last 3 were all arguably too long, but he’s one of the last living film masters (maybe THE last?) so I don’t mind. I saw The Irishman 3 times in theaters, to give you an idea of my fanboyism (I rarely ever see a movie more than once period). His older work is both unimpeachable and insanely diverse — Taxi Driver, The Age of Innocence, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, After Hours, GoodFellas, Bringing Out the Dead ... — so I think every human being alive could find at least one Scorsese movie…

This is one thing that really IS cultural. Ask the ancient Greeks and Romans and you’ll see they were way more open to doing gay shit with their homies. However, somewhat paradoxically, being penetrated was repulsive even in these cultures (ancient Rome had homosexuality laws where fucking a dude was okay, but if you got fucked by a dude you got sent to jail)

I remember seeing someone correlate the S&P 500 to those male sexlessness graphs and it fit perfectly (i.e. the better the economy, the less men having sex). Game designer, and no, life IS very gentle with some of us in this regard. I come at life from the perspective of someone who 1) has multiple lucrative talents, meaning my worst-case scenario is a six-figure tech job and 2) has about a million financial safety nets (never had any student debt, plus rich parents). I mean it depends on the time I’m putting in. If I can just snap a bulge pic twice a week and make six figs then it’s all good, but realistically I’ll be putting in 40-50 hours a week doing community management and streaming and marketing and Twitter outreach and all sorts of other exhausting shit that I have no innate interest in doing. So at that point why not just have a normal job? I have the skillsets after all.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/20 01:55 PM

If they limit it to JUST anonymous feet pics then it’s also fine. My primary concern in both cases wouldn’t be about the pics themselves but rather that this is a slippery-slope gateway into more open forms of online prostitution (if their feet aren’t pretty enough they’ll need to show a little thigh, and then shoulder, and then neckline, and before you know it they’re getting publicly gangbanged on VR camera). But if I get a magical hypothetical guarantee that they stop here, it’s all good.

When I first started delving into this part of the Internet, back in 2015-2016 when incels and RP weren’t as big, I remember hoping that none of it ever bubbled to the mainstream or else women would become so mistrustful and paranoid that I would never have sex again lol.

Any long-term change in women’s behavior depends on how much this impacts the economy tbh. You’ve seen the same people state both these claims? Where? I’ve only seen person A saying “women are privileged because they can easily have casual sex” and person B responding “casual sex doesn’t matter to women”, i.e. two different people where usually A is male and B is female. If two different people are making two opposing claims then that’s not a contradiction, that’s Purple Pill Debate (TM).

From your profile video (and your posts) I don’t think you’re unattractive per se, but I can tell you’re probably very shy and insecure. So I think the reason you’re not getting much attention is because you don’t put yourself out there in ways that attract attention — maybe you don’t feel comfortable enough with yourself to present as a sexual being, for example. And if you’re an 18-year-old college girl who somehow ended up HERE then I’m guessing you don’t socialize or party much irl. I just m…

Yeah I’ve seen 13-16 year olds posting on incel / RP spaces and part of me dies inside every time. The worst part is the commenters all give them actual advice or validate their neuroses, instead of just saying “go play outside you’re 14” and leaving it at that.

I think it applies to everyone. From a societal perspective there are traits that are “cute” (childish facial features, big eyes) and traits that are “sexy” (sharp features, boobs / butt on girls, musculature on guys) but once you’re into an individual person they can be whatever.

It’s a compliment, just don’t call my dick cute. For girls I find cuteness vs. sexiness is more a function of what they’re wearing and what vibe they’re projecting than anything else. Cute girls can always be hot if they want to, and vice versa. Many women seem to disagree but that’s their problem not mine.

No idea about my T levels but girl 2 is straight up asexual to me. She’s very pretty, but in the way a statue or a painting is pretty, not in a lust-inducing way. Girl 1 is a bit too chubby for my liking but she has big boobs (very important) and she’s dressed much more seductively. Can’t compare their faces from just these pics so this is based on body type and dress alone. The ideal is somewhere inbetween these 2.

It really is amazing, the atmosphere feels completely real and the third act is so moving it’s unbelievable. It makes a great companion piece to the Blade Runners, which are also two of the best movies ever, but not nearly as emotionally hard-hitting for me. The director of CoM (Alfonso Cuarón) is actually pretty famous now, and although he hasn’t made anything else I’ve liked nearly as much I think all of his movies are worth watching.

So? How is it useful to think this way? Just because TRP and FDS tend to be rigid gender-warrior ideologies doesn’t mean you need to go to the opposite extreme and blur/eliminate all conceptual distinctions between the sexes, that’s just another over-reaction. Ultimately “everything flows”, like Heraclitus said (and the Chinese philosophers with yin-yang), but if you want to get anywhere useful in any field then you need to delve in, start drawing conceptual boundaries, and begin making generali…

Women like tall guys, height is the most important physical characteristic for men, and most women would always choose a 6’4” guy over an equivalent 5’7” guy (whatever equivalence means in this case). Women are height Nazis who would literally never date or sleep with a man under 5’9” under any circumstance, they are rigid eugenicists. LSD made me think about sex on a weird abstract level but it would have been impossible to actually have it, and even if I could have it probably would have felt weird as shit. On MDMA it’s basically impossible not to, if you’re doing it with a girl and there’s even the slightest mutual attraction (which you probably have, if she agreed to do MDMA with you).

Women already do drugs with the bottom 80% of men all the time, and often fuck them in these situations (which is what you really meant by “empathy”, let’s not mince words). But sexless men aren’t doing drugz with girls, they’re in their rooms online.

I just don’t think guys take sexual harassment and assault from women as seriously, even if they’re not attracted to the girl. Unless the girl has some sort of power over them — OR if the experience is straight up rape and it involves being penetrated (which is equally traumatizing to all genders, seemingly way more than being forced to penetrate). Everything is equally bad in theory but in practice women seem to suffer more as a result of harassment and assault, when they experience it, so by u…

The terminology betrays it, yeah. Meta-analyses like these get bandied about a lot in gender-warrior circles, and I haven't seen one yet that doesn't smell fishy. The problem with these discussions is that no one ever puts an upper bound on “immediate”. Is a girl sleeping with you 2 hours after meeting you too slow? What about 2 days after meeting you? 2 weeks? I think what RP preaches is hot-cold contrast, i.e. giving passion and then withdrawing it in cycles. So you fuck her passionately and whisper sweet nothings into her ear, and then you leave her on read for a week, and this is more effective than giving ONLY passion. When women say they want "a guy who works hard" it's always been clear this means a guy who works hard for them and their family, and it's always been clear that this is a relationship trait not a sex-outside-the-club trait. So while I agree with the broad-strokes of your conclusion (that finished works are more attractive than works-in-progress) I disagree that this is a case of men being lied to. This was my first thought as well, but the site’s founder compared the OkCupid guys to randomly selected normie men from social media and found they were rated the same (check the excerpt at the top of my post). And he also replicated his result on Tinder and Match. My hypothesis as I mentioned in the post is that guys just suck at taking pictures, and sucked even more back in 2009 — and that women aren’t deeply attracted to still lifeless pictures of most men anyway.

Rollo popularized the 80/20 concept to my knowledge and he’s still the top search result for “80/20 rule redpill” so I figured he’d be the one to go to. My point is that Tinder is not representative. I talk about this at length in the post. The average man would do better in real life if he’s actually average (which in America means 5’10”, white, neurotypical, and lives in a big metropolitan city — if you’re below that in any regard then you’re below average) — by which I mean social circles and parties not meat-market clubs / speed dating, although he’d probably do better there than Tinder too.

I never said “buy her attention” lol what? I’m saying that 1) attraction in reality is different from attraction in photos and 2) instant attraction is rarer for women. Visceral attraction is not the same thing as instant attraction from a photo, although it’s related, and a lack of it immediately (as opposed to after a small period of time) does not = betabux. Frankly it depends on your perception of the world around you: how close you are to people who are having tons of sex, and how much fun they seem to be having. I don't think any place I go to could be called "high class" but here's a wine bar I've taken a few dates to and here's a sake bar that I've taken one date to. I would never take a girl to a foul-smelling Irish pub unless it was a last resort, if that's what you're asking. I'm talking about going on dates with people you just met (i.e. you've known them less than a few weeks, or you met them on an app). "Dates" are seen as overly formal and weird, for our generation -- at least until you've seen each other a few times. We "get drinks", or "hang out", and so on (drinks are more obviously date-like, whereas lunch or coffee aren't). Then the concept went through several years of the Internet telephone-game, and now the way many people use these terms, you may as well define alpha as “good” and beta as “bad”. I disagree with some of the nuances of your post however, namely the assumption that only the top echelon of men (by physical attractiveness) can…

On the other hand guys who lack achievements or accomplishments tend to NOT be as cool, as a general rule, and living a boring 9-5 life as a generic finance-janitor or whatever tends to actively suck the youth and passion out of most guys. So the causality is still probably the same for you, it’s just in reverse. (I realize this is beyond the scope of what the OP asked but it’s worth noting)

With the exception of hair extensions and push-up bras, I’ve almost never seen a girl look really hot with makeup who wasn’t really hot without it. (In real life, I mean — on the Internet you can see videos of girls straight up applying new faces onto themselves, but those videos become popular precisely because they’re not the norm and because most girls aren’t doing it.) “Makeup” for most girls I know doesn’t mean inventing new facial features, it just means foundation / blush / lipstick / mas…

For the n-th time, girls don’t want to ask men out. Especially not the “average” (below-average) men that populate the pillosphere. If you’re incredibly hot then this new hypothetical world would work better for you, but if you’re incredibly hot then the current world already works great for you, so any improvement would probably just overwhelm you and induce some serious FOMO. So just accept that this fantasy isn’t happening and that you’re always going to be in the pursuer role, and learn to e…

Right but for most of your dry spell, all of those things applied to you at the same time, right? If so then that would have placed you at significantly below average. Now you’ve moved out, you have a job, you’re finishing school, you’re mentally healthier. So now you’re closer to average, and therefore you’re getting closer to average results (a cute girl who you’re seeing). It all checks out to me.

I would upvote this ten times if I could. All of the most apocalyptic conclusions of the pillosphere are formed by generalizing limited meat-market studies into a statement on the human condition (look at how they’ve misinterpreted Christian Rudder’s OKC / Tinder / Match results). At least this guy knows what a correlation coefficient is, so he’s better than most.

Is anyone really arguing the opposite? Even for men? I can’t change your view fundamentally because I’m not sure why you think that the opposite view is common. That being said I think most young girls ARE made aware that there are many predatory men out there, and young girls are generally more encouraged towards caution than young men. Most parents are responsible enough to tell them and warn them. It’s just that girls think of these “predatory men” as an abstract concept, not people who could…

I’ve met lots of women that have made me laugh, so I wouldn’t frame this as “women aren’t funny” but rather “men are funnier than women, as a rule”. Less controversial and less fun, but more true. And frankly men have more of a need to cultivate their humor and enjoy it. If women didn’t think I was funny I would probably be an incel. NOW granted I am a man, so maybe I just don’t get “female humor”, but really I have no damn clue what “female humor” even means and I have no clue how girls joke wh…

I see Reddit TRP as the evolution and consolidation of earlier Internet PUA material, from a collection of tricks and techniques into a kind of ramshackle over-reaching ideology. It’s an attempt to figure out strategies for getting laid, and test them in the field via vaguely scientific approaches (though in practice this is often prone to over-generalization), but it’s ALSO a far-right doomer space which has a lot to say about geopolitics, culture, immigration, religion, and human rights. I think most normal college aged “females” would agree with my points. Many of the girls I knew in college often even drank so THEY could feel less nervous and awkward around cute guys lol, not for the guys’ benefit (and guys were doing the same for girls). 5’0” women and 5’0” men are not in the same league lol. The “looksmatch” concept is about how attractive you are relative to the standards for your gender, not about literally looking the same — a big boobed girl is not the looksmatch for a big boobed man.

My point is that a small bit of drinking can make it EASIER for you to make sound and fun choices, if you’re naturally inhibited (which most people are on first dates, or at parties full of strangers, including myself). It's not that each individual point is unique but rather that having them ALL in one place is unique. Not the gender ratio, which is overhyped -- there are like 5% more young women and LESS single 20-something women -- but 1) population and density (Manhattan has two million people clustered into 22 square miles), 2) new tourists and transplants constantly shuttling in and out of the city every day to "explore the Big Apple", 3) a 24-hour metro system that facilitates hooking up by making logistics incredibly easy, 4) bars, clubs, and restaurants everywhere that are open all night and rarely che…

I was referring specifically to anger-phase guys here (who seem to be the majority of RPers deeply involved in PPD discourse?) but I agree with your general point that a lot of men could use more harsh love. When I see red-flaired men talking about being lied to specifically on this subreddit it seems to be way more about the importance of looks, height, race, etcetera — so more blackpill than about game, lifting, or personality type.

When I see red-flaired men talking about being lied to specifically on this subreddit it seems to be way more about the importance of looks, height, race, etcetera. I don’t buy that psychopathy is attractive in itself, as much as that psychopaths really know how to fake being charming and attractive and kind (e.g. many abusive relationships seem to start with love bombing), but if I accept your premise then I can see why you’re pissed.

I’m specifically referring to what I see on this subreddit, not OG TRP or asktrp. They would be outraged if women said these were the ONLY attractive men, which is what blackpillers and increasingly many RPers (on this sub) seem to believe. This is a MUCH stronger claim than simply saying they’re the MOST attractive men. We’re talking about women admitting they were never really attracted to their husbands, etcetera. Again this is a totally absurd thought experiment, but I’m using it to make a more abstract point, and from your other comment I think you’re interpreting everyt…

RP seems to be getting more and more black with every passing day, to the point where I can’t really tell the difference. I wonder what a more traditionally RP example would look like. Blackpillers seem very very angry even after they “uncover the lies”, judging by my perusals of incel forums, so I’m not convinced they’d be chill about it all.

I like this point a lot, but it’s also worth noting that Chad might not have ever needed to figure out they were lies. Naturals can be more idealistic, in that sense. (Or for him they might not even be lies — I have no idea what that guy’s life is like.)

Not saying anyone should be happy about being rejected, just that the fundamental issue here is not women lying to men. The engineers wouldn’t have time to invent anything before anarchy set in.

I’m specifically talking about the TRP reaction, not the general population (who would of course be scandalized and outraged). RPers and blackpillers are supposed to already know this stuff, but if women came out tomorrow and explicitly confirmed all their theories they would STILL be angry about it — because their anger is fundamentally about being rejected by reality, and all this stuff about “being lied to” is just a psychological defense mechanism meant to make their concerns seem less petty…

I think this “lying” thing is a red herring. When women outright state what they want it’s met with even more revulsion than when they lie — witness all the entitled girls on dating apps with long laundry lists of requirements, for example, and how men react to them. Many of them aren’t laughing it off all chill (which is what you’d expect if the anger was fundamentally about women lying). They’re angry about the entitlement in and of itself, and the preferences in and of themselves, and see bot…

What I’m saying is that the anger phase comes from a place of moral superiority. It’s not just “I was wrong about the way women behave” (which is no cause for anger in itself) but rather “I was wrong about the way women behave AND I think the way women behave is immoral AND I’m deeply repulsed by this”. I see far, far more of this type of thinking on PPD than women trying to elevate themselves and pretending looks don’t matter. I’m bringing up the cultural messages that we send women because the…

It’s mostly women who seem to have some visceral need to think of themselves as morally “better” than men in the dating market. I think this is comically wrong and the proof is all over this subreddit. Men aren’t seen as more intelligent for being obsessed with tits and asses either. It’s not the only real reason? People are inhibited about sex for lots of reasons, and many of them aren’t very good. A glass of wine on a date, or a few drinks over many hours of a house party, reduces the inhibitions that you don’t want to have (being stuck in your own head, social anxiety, body insecurity) while keeping the inhibitions that you want to have (not being attracted to someone fundamentally, not feeling the mood, just not wanting to have sex that night). Statistics tell us that 78% of men between 18 and 28 have gotten laid in the past year. This could still mean “struggling” to a degree — the rise in male sexlessness worries me for a lot of reasons, and I have deep empathy for sexless men — but it isn’t apocalyptic, and that’s my point. (If we accept the RP / blackpill premise that most men aren’t out there having one-night stands, then that means most of this 78% is having sex in relationships, which means that they’re good for now.)

It really depends on where you live and the circles you move with. In NYC for example it seems like casual sex is the norm, and “dating” is just casual sex that transforms into a relationship when one person decides to move in that direction (and the other person agrees). I imagine it’s different in e.g. the rural Midwest. In college I threw parties once every couple weeks primarily for the art / film “hipster” crowd. I don’t think Casino is particularly revealing from the female side of things: I guess, be as pretty as Sharon Stone and hang around places where rich men go (like casinos)? It’s an amazing movie so you should still watch it, but it’s not very instructive.

I have a close friend who swears by Bitter Moon, so you two have convinced me to watch that one asap. And I didn’t catch that Sharon Stone’s character had BPD! It does make perfect sense though.

I don't know anything about "human nature", all I really have to go off of are the people I've met and the circles I move with. This has been a thing in my life to some degree, and it hasn't been in yours, and I'm not sure what explains the gap between our experiences. Maybe us Americans are just less evolved! (Sexless American men read incel forums, but sexless European men read Houellebecq.)

I agree in the general case but I’ve lived a weird enough life to know there are tons of exceptions. I think this behavior happens mostly among young girls who aren’t looking for relationships, for whatever reason, and who’re naturally “highly sociosexual” (slutty) but not drawn to sex with strangers. Or among young girls who’ve bought into empowerment rhetoric and who don’t quite know what they want out of men yet, and what makes them happiest.

Right, I’m not saying the college hookup circuit is the ideal of female desire, I’m just saying this stuff happens. Not referring to poly/kink women (who are probably more careful with sharing details / pictures and violating people’s consent) but just normal young girls being promiscuous within their extended friendgroups.

Anecdotal evidence of course, but a couple (bi) women I’ve known have said they’d be more comfortable dating a guy who was a top rather than a bottom. In general that’s seen as “less gay”: in ancient Rome it was perfectly fine to go around fucking dudes if you were a top, but bottoms could get sent to jail for it! (Are there really no bi people on PPD who can give input in this thread? Are they just too busy living their best lives to come debate gender dynamics on Reddit? I don’t want to keep p…

I think this depends on which social circles you’re in, because I’ve 100% seen dudes getting passed around by girls’ friendgroups based on reputation, and girls comparing notes on men and their dicks, etcetera. If you have a close-knit promiscuous open-minded social circle then this is definitely a thing, and it doesn’t need to end in tears, but I guess most people’s circles aren’t like that past college (or even in college for many, which might explain a lot of the divide on this topic).

Okay I changed it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 07:23 PM

So now we can say the “sluttiness” double standard is really about submitting to men in general, regardless of gender. Why do you think being submissive to men is seen as unattractive — is this cultural, biological, or some mix of the two? And do the reasons differ for men vs. women? That’s the kind of discussion I was hoping to have with this post.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 07:18 PM
1

I’m new here, should I change the flair? I didn’t realize my premises would be so controversial and I was hoping to discuss the “why” rather than the “if”.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 07:13 PM

I think men as a whole are very conflicted on this point and we can’t make up our minds, but if we don’t want to commit then that implies we see them as “lesser”, i.e. turned off. I don’t personally, at least at this point in my life, but we’re talking about trends and cultural norms here.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 07:09 PM
3

I’m saying that EVERYONE sees dicks as “corrupting” (unattractive) and vaginas as “elevating” (attractive). This is my entire point and it has to do with cultural norms shared by BOTH genders, not my own opinions. Please re-read my post.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:58 PM

No, many women are actively turned off by the idea of their partner having had sex with men at all lol — even bi women. Ask any bi dude and you’ll find out. (Are there any on this subreddit?)
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:57 PM

I don’t think this matters to most guys who care about N-count, it’s just a gut-reaction revulsion. Also, a girl who had to work nearly as hard as the average man just to get laid is probably unappealing, and you don’t want to date her anyway. If you want to find a hot girl who had to work really hard to get laid then you’re best off studying quantum mechanics and parallel universes.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:55 PM

I’m trying to capture a general truth about cultural norms in a catchy saying, I don’t actually believe that taking lots of dick makes women morally worse. I like my dick and I keep it squeaky clean.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:52 PM
1

You can see this as an indirect thing if it makes you happier: the same traits which attracted other women to a man are more likely to attract you, because he’s cool and just generally attractive. The mechanisms of attraction don’t matter that much for the purposes of my point, but I hope you can see the truth in my premises. I just edited the OP to make this clearer.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:48 PM

Women desexualize bisexual men as well, which is part of my point. I see the generalization in my OP as less of a double standard because it’s not treating different groups of people differently based on gender, it’s just imposing one universal rule to explain everyone’s behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:46 PM
3

I think your definitions are a caricature. You might as well have defined beta as “bad” and alpha as “good”. If we use your definitions then all we end up with is “women like cool guys and dislike weirdo losers”, and I think that all this alpha/beta discussion is going for something more nuanced than that (about the natural antagonism between passion and stability).
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/20 06:04 PM
1

I recently realized that the slut-shaming double standard (men who have sex with lots of women are studs, women who have sex with lots of men are sluts) is misguided. In reality, anyone who has sex with lots of women is seen as attractive (men like bi women) and anyone who has sex with lots of men is seen as gross (women dislike bi men). So really, the human experience is perfectly consistent: dick corrupts, pussy elevates.

“No amount of compliments or flirting gives the same rush” yes, but now try cutting off every gym-goer completely from compliments and flirting, and replacing them with indifference and revulsion. This is the hypothetical world I’m creating to make my point, and it’s just as valid a hypothetical as OP’s. And in this world many men would stop going to the gym even though they love it and are doing it for themselves, because sex is a more basic need for many than self-actualization. In this thread…

Coronavirus mostly affects the elderly (people 60 and up) so the non-retirement-home SMP will stay unaffected. In retirement homes though, the virus will level the playing field: “good or bad, handsome or ugly, rich or poor, they are all equal now” (Barry Lyndon). In the meantime, if you want to kiss a girl but can’t read the situation, ask her if she’s willing to risk getting coronavirus. Tried this line the other night and it worked, so based on my sample size of 1 I think it’s good to go.

I disagree with the second paragraph. Maybe 10% of guys are working out on a strict diet in order to be beautiful, but 90% of women wear makeup and care deeply about their beauty. Clearly women derive more value from beauty, in and of itself, than men do — and the reason they do is because men ruthlessly selected for beautiful women, for millennia on end, and pressured women to get prettier and prettier for our benefit (at first beauty corresponded to fertility, but eventually it became kind of …

In aggregate they are, even if many individual girls are somewhat indifferent. That’s my point, and you can replace “muscles” with any other male attraction cue you agree with if you’d like — the logic is the same. I swear to God PPD posters have this complex where they read what you write and automatically assume you meant the most retarded thing possible.

Yeah I should have specified sports in general not just working out. My point is that if women started overwhelmingly preferring obese men tomorrow, most men would straight up stop moving.

You can do something primarily for yourself, but still abstain due to stigma from others. For example, if women were repulsed by muscles and fitness tomorrow all men would stop working out and start cultivating anorexia, despite many guys enjoying sports as activities in and of themselves (not for women). I don’t think your thought experiment works as intended. The makeup thing is indirect: women’s worth is tied to beauty moreso than men’s (patriarchy / evolution) which makes them want to be att…

Ahh right, I forgot about Quidditch. Still, it’s not a particularly “jockish” sport, especially in a world where injuries can get healed instantly. I’m going off decade-old memories of the books/movies but I wouldn’t call Harry and Ron “highly social” — they mostly hung out in their group of 3, or with Hagrid and other adults. Lol dude, I’m just talking about normal relationships where people support each other. I’m making a broad point and using the word struggle in a broad sense, not talking specifically about your BF complaining about his career, and I think that’s what the OP was going for too (in stupider language). Your original comment sounded space-alien weird to me, but if all you mean is that you don’t care about how much protein powder your BF ingested to get big, then whatever that’s normal.

The OP seemed more broad than just men struggling to be hot (he mentioned professional struggles for example). You’re mixing up cause and effect: women are more willing to have anal sex with good partners who can already make them cum, rather than anal sex making women cum in and of itself. The movie (Long Shot) is even more ridiculous than that scene — she’s the Secretary of State, and he’s a random poor Brooklyn journalist who shows up to diplomatic formals wearing a shitty windbreaker jacket. It’s like the ultimate anti-hypergamy fantasy lol. But I think the cast and writers actually did a really good job selling the romance, as much as they could. By the time you get to that scene it doesn’t come off as jarring as it does in isolation.

I don’t take the “women lied” argument very seriously but I think you’re misrepresenting it. The gripe isn’t “women are actually more attracted to hot men” but rather “women will reject seemingly compatible not-hot men for a much less compatible hot dude”, or “you need to be really hot to have many prospects with women”. In other words it’s not about looks being important, but the degree to which they’re important. (Imagine an inexperienced anime nerd boy in high school, crushing on a cute anime…

Yeah, online dating is the ultimate enabler of blackpill ideology. I moved to Manhattan 2 years ago, without a real social circle (a couple people I knew from college, but who I didn’t really like or want to hang out with that much) and an engineering job — so for a long time my social world was 100% dominated by nerdy men, and it felt like OLD was the only way to meet women. Yeah I agree with this actually. If there are real universals to be found here, then it’s in social skills not in physical types (other than the obvious universal of women not liking midgets or the Elephant Man), and all men can benefit from that. I don’t think my examples are particularly extreme, but sure, I’m using them to make a point. You don't fuck your pets or fall in deep romantic love with your pets. I mean, apparently some white girls do, but they're all from Alabama so they don't count as people.

10 or 20 years is a ridiculous timespan for the kind of realism I'm aiming for in the OP. I would be surprised if we get there in 50; there's about a million miles of nuance between a self-driving car and a fully realistic android, and we can barely even accomplish the former right now. Modern AI has less to do with "intelligence" than with quirks of linear algebra, as it currently stands. We're still using fundamentally "dumb" techniques invented in the '70s and '80s, just scaling them up and t…

I don't think it's sad, it just attests to how men and women care about different things in regards to dating. Women care a lot about the manner in which they meet men, and buying a robot at a store and programming it to love you is almost the exact opposite of the female romantic fantasy. So it makes sense they'd instantly nope out. Men have to give it deeper thought because we're capable of falling in love with people we paid to love us (and in this scenario, things we paid to love us).

I think that the idea of buying a robot and programming it to love you is deeply antithetical to what women want out of romance, and I expected all of them to be repulsed by it. I'm more surprised that one or two of them actually said they might fall in love, honestly. Again, this doesn't apply to the organic Before Sunrise experience where you meet an android at the supermarket or whatever; plenty of women can and will go for that.

Tinkering with a conscious's being desires and intentions would be unethical (in my opinion) so I couldn't get behind this. Good luck avoiding language. (I'm being pedantic but you get my point.) I'm also having a hard time imagining how you could set up a free-thinking, Turing-passing level conscious entity that simultaneously has its own set of desires, passions, personality (and probably pseudo memories) to be believably human, yet hard-wire it to only love unconditionally one person of any t…

I’ve never seen this “few milligrams” argument before, and I’ve explored the depths of the Internet pretty extensively. If anyone seriously believes that I suggest they take a "few milligrams" of LSD and see how it goes.

The men on this subreddit probably live in big cities and not in the rural / inner-city urban communities where you can really see the American obesity epidemic. If you don’t see a lot of fat women day-to-day, aren’t attracted to fat women, but all your dating options (from online dating and so on) end up being fat women then of course it’s going to be annoying. Also the human mind naturally tends towards generalization and simplification; in a way that’s its job.

Okay now separate this statistic by age, class, and location. On the big coastal cities where most American college grads live or are aspiring to live, there are barely any obese people in sight. I live in Manhattan and among my demographic (relatively affluent 21-29 year olds) either the fatties are all staying inside or they just don’t exist.

I think she’s incredibly hot, and she has a kind of totally-fake-but-still-appealing sexuality about her (in addition to a killer body). Way better looking than that Peta Jensen girl, and a better actress too, though of course both are hot by normal-people standards. More proof to my theory that, while the average white girl might be mediocre compared to her Asian / Hispanic / Indian counterparts (I am Indian so I’m allowed to say this), when they shine they really shine.

Are you a woman and have you asked guys out? This post reads like weird broad-strokes theorycrafting. But if we’re going that route, I’d say a lot obviously depends on the specific woman and man in question: on the extremes you have Lena Paul asking out Danny DeVito (near-100% success rate) and Lizzie Velasquez asking out Brad Pitt (near-0% success rate), and then a whole spectrum in-between, on top of elements beyond pure looks. Reddit seems to be full of nerd girls who successfully asked their…

The rich are doing just fine by your analysis, and the poor have much bigger problems on the horizon than sexlessness (for example all of their livelihoods being automated out of existence). Just bunker up for a couple generations of class warfare, until we can designer-baby and UBI all these problems away. And then by that point we’ll have even wackier problems to deal with (e.g. Tinder Chads sleeping around on Martian colonies and destroying human genetic diversity, leading to the rise of dead…

Right, and her post is targeted towards 4-6 men rather than those much higher — who probably don’t post on this subreddit. If you want to maximize your results without having to work too hard then this is the way to go (especially if you live in a big city). It’s still casual unattached sex with attractive women.

Amazing that such common-sensical advice and analysis is being downvoted. Being around lots of women helps you have sex with lots of women ... yet so many dudes would rather chase the lifting-and-Tinder grind.

Have you been to “the real world” recently? Your description of social dynamics is absurd, and hooking up with a cute girl you just met at a party isn’t some sort of mythical experience reserved for SMV8+ men lol. Of course being hot does matter, especially if you’re incredibly ambitious and want to fuck new girls every weekend, but if you’re NOT then social cache is a huge deal and everything /u/kandyapplez is saying is correct. (I am probably SMV3 and my first sexual experience was literally f…

Individual women can have unique preferences, while women in aggregate tend towards a single preferred ideal (by necessity, since aggregation by design removes individual variation). There’s nothing contradictory about this at all and your post basically boils down to a semantic misunderstanding. By the same token any girl would get the most male interest on average if she has DD cups, blonde hair, and an hourglass figure, but some individual guys are chubby chasers and have no interest in “the …

It’s just the human urge to look into the abyss and obsess over things that can potentially hurt you. I learnt a few useful things from the PUA dudes but I don’t think redpill / incel discourse has done anything but rot my brain and weaken my relationships. I bet it’s because I don’t lift. I am going to get started on that.

The people into this right now are goddamn weirdos, even compared to the general population of Chaturbate users, and their preferences and feelings say nothing about “modern women”. But yes eventually Blade Runner 2049 hologram waifus will be a thing, and people will debate endlessly on HoloPPD whether or not they can truly love you, and for that matter whether or not bio-women can truly love you, and whether the new generation of designer babies should even be allowed to experience love at all.…

I'll trust you on the T/height/IQ correlations because every attempt to check my sources is being blocked by paywalls. Point is, "female sexual selection is anti-civilization" is a ludicrously dumb take on many levels. It was precisely through sexual selection that our species gained the capacity, strength, and intelligence to invent civilization in the first place. It's the only mechanism that was around, and it worked out pretty well for a very long time; it hasn't scaled perfectly to the hype…

Many men legitimately love what they do to improve society independently of women, whether it’s rocket engineering or painting or teaching or novel writing or whatever else. I’m not saying women should be obligated to find men fuckable because they have passions, but saying that no man would feel obligated to do anything if they could have hot sex on demand is a frankly depressing train of thought, and not one I think applies to the men who are really on the forefront of civilization. People lik…

I think verbal intelligence is definitely attractive to women, but abstract math-y STEM intelligence isn’t as much, unless you can showcase it in a verbally appealing way. I don’t value one over the other — who’s more intelligent, Proust or Einstein? One man got to the core of human psychology, and the other got to the core of the physical world, and we need both of them. (ignoring the fact that Proust was gay for the purposes of this conversation, lol) Also, remember that this post isn’t talkin…

Also, if you believe in “alpha fux” vs. “beta bux” theory, remember that the (ostensibly) kind, intelligent betas are the ones having the kids. Not much consolation on the individual level, so goes the theory, but certainly consolation on the civilizational level. And please don’t even think about mentioning cuckolding or paternity; it’s statistically insignificant.

First of all, testosterone and height are both loosely correlated to intelligence in men, so if anything women’s preferences are overall PRO-civilization (civilization is the product of intelligence + ambition + organization + violence, most of which attract women to various degrees). They could be doing a lot better of course (in the same way female peacocks could also be selecting a lot better) but they aren’t “dysgenic”. Second of all, if you really want to talk about civilization: at this po…
