If you initiate the breakup with a hard next "this isn't working, we're done" then yes. If you initiate the breakup with "I'm not interested in a sexless relationship" then probably not.

Good for you for not compromising your happiness, how long have you been dating this girl? Also bear in mind that depending on how you play it (hard next vs. "sex or it's over"), she may throw herself at you to save the relationship. I'm not saying it will happen but it's possible. It's up to you to determine whether you want to stay with her if the sexytimes happen, but it'll take some masterful frame to hold that relationship where you want it. Good luck and have fun.

Just off the "half-virgin" comment alone I would move on. If that sort of mentality and rationalization that is normal for her, what else is she going to have that sort of mindset about in the future? Sounds like a troll post, or a solid example of the hamster.

Seems to be the consensus, and I completely agree. I'm thinking leaving without her was also a mistake, and that once I did I should have waited for her to initiate contact. Live and learn, I feel satisfied with everything else I did and I'll have another opportunity easily.

I've considered that, but I usually chalk it up to my ego and thinking every girl wants to date me. If that's the case I'll give it one more shot of trying to bring her back after a show and then move on. I haven't been in a LTR in some time, and it's not that I'm against the idea but that she is probably one of the worst conversationalists I've ever encountered.

Agreed, that's definitely where I botched it. I should have just texted the address and left it at that. Or maybe not texted at all after I left? Either way no worries I've got other things going, I'll get her next time.

Maybe they're good in bed? Money? Who knows... I got laid a lot when I was gothy and played WoW 24/7. Looking back it was 100% an aura of unbreakable cocky confidence. I thought of myself as king of the nerds, in a good way, and I think that's what drew the women-folk.

Demographics man, those types of girls see the beatnik/indie guy as a more valuable asset than a salmon-shorts bro. Same as chicks a metal show will find more value in a metal kid. I do objectively well with a wide swath of women, I can only speculate as to how or why, and I would fall into the alternative style category. The takeaway is that there is no cookie cutter approach to style or personality, play to your strengths. As a wierd perspective, your thoughts on girls liking the vegan-hipster…

Rock Climbing. I've been meaning to write a post about alternatives to lifting because going to a gym can get really repetitive and it frankly bores me. Rock climbing has become the main focus in my life since I started about a year ago. I was hooked by the end of my first day. The sense of accomplishment and pride in sending a new route is practically orgasmic. Besides being one hell of a workout; upper body, shoulders, back, forearms, calves, core, it is extremely humbling in that you cannot b…

(haven't watched it again yet) Judging by how hostile you are I didn't think you would actually respond in detail, so kudos dude you obviously aren't just talking out of your ass. That being said you need to go get laid because you're raging like a fucking friendzoned neckbeard. We're all on the same side here, with the same goals, so try taking the path of the teacher when you disagree with something, especially here of all places, instead of the path of the cunt. I'm not saying you're wrong, j…

I didn't think anything in her speech was targeted at a specific gender, at least what I got out of it was a generalization of what enhances desire and what diminishes it. What part specifically did you take as her rationalizing because I'll watch it again more intently

Eh I guess I meant a different approach to the same perspective. I'm thinking specifically about the attraction to confidence, and about neediness being the death of passion/desire. What do you mean by hamstering? I've been lurking for a bit but haven't bothered reading all the terms/definitions.

Right on, I was hoping it wasn't a repost. Even though she focused on LTRs there are valuable lessons for any relationship situation, from PUAs to those recovering from breakups or bad relationships, to those seeking a commitment.

Certainly not as in-depth as the content here but I thought it was a very approachable talk for those not familiar with the terms and ideas here. A variety of content from introductions to advanced ideas is healthy for any philosophy subreddit.

It was posted because I thought it was interesting and relative to the subreddit. Of course if you're familiar with TRP it isn't much more than a different perspective on the established framework here, but I thought it may be of use to those just discovering this worldview. I also enjoy listenening to people approach familiar topics in ways that resonate with themselves, it makes my own perspective feel more complete.

100% of all people are devious man don't limit your suspicions by an arbitrary parameter such as gender.

Another excellent book in this vein is "I am that" by Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. Google it, first result is the free pdf.

I think he was trying to say she learned it from seeing you repeat that behavior. I'm sure you've corrected the dog on more than one occasion so it's possible she has come to associate your corrections with "good" and the dogs behavior with "bad", so when she sees you performing a "good" action she wishes to be part of it with you. That's my take anyway, but I lean towards not believing in a priori knowledge.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
