You could make the argument that braces are horribly cruel, purely cosmetic, cause pain and expose children to infection and disease, and aren't even a part of religion. Or, you could be more reasonable about it. You could say the government may intervene in cases where the child is being seriously harmed. And though I would never support anyone having circumcision forced on them without parental consent, what happened to the freedom for the parents to decide?
