This old man tells every young man with an ounce of ambition not to get married unless he 110% wants kids. If you’re not ambitious, go ahead and do whatever. Doesn’t make much difference

Idk, I think it gets easier for men as we get older as long as you have a job and keep yourself in shape. If you’re a fat fuck, well yeah it’s hard for anyone

If a woman goes off on systemic inequalities of patriarchal colonialism, just ignore her. Not worth the headache

Also hooking up is fun for a little while but it’s not fulfilling

I wonder how much of feminism is penis envy— or at least testosterone envy. Being a woman is objectively harder in many ways. Menstruation, childbirth, physically weaker, hormones. It’s great in a lot of ways, too. But a lot of feminism in practice, is centered around the fact that men just go out and live their lives as they want

You know, I’m an advocate for protecting, providing, etc. But after seeing how women go for the jugular during divorce I don’t really feel the same anymore. That said, if I see anyone being threatened, whether they’re my partner or not, I’m going to stand up for justice. It’s just human decency. Plus I like a good fight.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 10:13 PM

What’s to prevent a woman from taking care of herself? Not sure why you assume women are helpless
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/25 04:26 PM

Why do women think they need protection? Wouldn’t that imply marriage is mostly risk for men?

This is justifying freeloading. Men and women should be expected to develop skills to pay for their own lifestyles

I'm a decently attractive white guy and it's definitely given me opportunities that I wouldn't have as a minority woman
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/25 02:36 PM

Ok, let’s accept your premise. If men can truly only accept the full humanity of women once they become property, women must be biologically wired to subjugate themselves to a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/25 12:57 PM

Yeah, I think for actual relationships people usually end up with those of similar lifestyles
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/25 06:31 PM

Men still earn more, have higher status jobs, and are more athletic. It’s the testosterone-driven urge to compete. I agree with the other commenters that women have it easier because of the dating-app inspired illusion that they have a lot of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/25 06:15 PM

I'm middle-aged now. I think it's harder now because a lot of women don't want families as much as they used to. It was always hard to attract the hottest girls in their 20s, but when they hit 30 they'd usually settle down with whoever was convenient. Regular guys could get a girlfriend easily enough if they were family-oriented. Now, I think there's so much societal pressure to be "independent" that people just don't pair up anymore.

I’ve been both. Was married for a long time, then became a fuckboi after divorce. If you’re married to a nag, it’s awful. Fucking around is a lonely existence after the first 5-10 women. Also, it’s not like it’s easy to hook up. I had to build a great career and take care of my body. Best to find someone you get along with and keep her around as long as possible. Just my experienced opinion

I struggled with it when I was married. The research is pretty clear kids do best when parents stick together, if the parents aren’t volatile with each other. My ex and I fought all the time so in my case it’s probably best we divorced.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/25 12:10 PM
9

Life isn't always about chasing your feelings. And sometimes kids will benefit by seeing examples of sacrifice for a cause greater than yourself. Stability likely gives kids better outcomes than seeing their parents go on a ya ya sisterhood adventure of finding themselves
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/25 12:20 AM
14

Idk, the grass isn't always greener. Coparenting only works if both spouses can get along, and if that's the case why did you even divorce? If you're the higher earner, you get royally screwed in family court, so a lot of men just put their heads down and carry the burden, even if they're not happy. Because often the alternative is getting divorced, then remarrying some woman with kids and all of a sudden you're supporting two household! I'll agree that divorce is often better for kids if the pa…

Women are just as lonely as men, and the majority of people end up forming relationships. Fat women with no style can get laid, sure, but they suffer from chronic loneliness just as much as men
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/25 03:22 PM

I’m extremely average height and have no shortage of women. Career and physical fitness matter more as you get older. Also, I’ve been around the block long enough to realize a not insignificant percentage of women will make your life miserable, so stressing out over them isn’t worth the mental energy

I can see this viewpoint if you're on the bottom end of self-esteem. Plenty of broke, ugly guys have girlfriends. But they've developed a sense of humor and can make a girl laugh.

The cheating guy's life won't be all that great because he's paying child support and alimony to a woman who can't hold down a job. 18 years of purgatory. Choose your hard, I guess

To be fair, if you're an intellectual AND and athlete, women of all ages wanna blow you
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/25 02:39 PM

Women definitely have grievances that they've picked up from the broader culture. Problem is the solutions they have just seem to make them more miserable. Very few people are advocating for a return to the kitchen, or some Handmaid Tale dystopia. Most men just want them to take the stick out of their rears and enjoy life more.

It’s better than your 40s! You have more of a chance with women in their late 20s who don’t have so much baggage.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 04:47 PM

Do you feel it's immoral, or do you just not like the fact that some younger women prefer older men?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 04:38 PM

None of us know the exact person we want to date, so it makes sense to make yourself as attractive as possible. Then you can worry about individual tastes once you’ve settled down
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 02:01 PM

For real. Idk what scorpion crawled up their panties and made them start fearing life
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 06:00 AM

Yeah, men will do better if they’re more attractive but the manosphere puts way too much emphasis on appearance. It just turns you into a shallow neurotic.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 12:33 AM

It’s really too bad because one of the best parts of life is going out with your buddies, having fun, and meeting up with girls. Then eventually finding one you really like and forming a relationship.

Half the time I'm a stay at home dad. It's the easiest job I've ever had. Granted, having kids under 3 at home is difficult, and some people can fall prey to social isolation, but it's nowhere near as hard as grinding 70 hours at a professional job.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 03:56 PM

True. But their value is reduced to physical looks. At least in the initial stages
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 12:41 AM
1

Idk. I’m maybe a little above average in looks. 5’9”. But I work out and have a good job and I’ve never had a problem getting dates. Women want men just as much as men want women. Now, finding a good woman who isn’t an emotional wreck and isn’t going to destroy you financially— that’s another problem altogether
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 12:39 AM
-8

I agree men as a whole have it easier than women when it comes to dating. I know it doesn't feel like it if you're constantly getting rejected, but the only power women have in the dating world is their physical looks. If you're plain Jane, there's only so much you can do to improve your looks. Men can get a decent job, be fairly fit, get a new wardrobe, and improve their chances immeasurably.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 11:22 PM

It's nice having a long term partner who gives you emotional support. I don't really like casual hookups. But, yeah, getting married as a man is a roll of the dice, so I don't blame anyone for being a committed bachelor
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 05:38 PM

There’s a lot of truth to the saying, “men marry women hoping they’ll never change, and women marry men hoping to change them”. Idk if there’s much we can do other than appreciating the growth in a partner and offering them a lot of grace to be who they really are

Even in childfree relationships or singlehood women don’t work as much, and choose lower earning careers. I’m all for personal choice, just don’t extract from people who are out there grinding

I'm a man, so I'll just share what the women around me have said, going from 10s-2s. 9-10's get tons of attention from everyone. People don't see them as human, and often aren't honest. They defer and do whatever they can to land them, so they can never trust men's true intentions. 7-8's, this is the sweet spot. They can land most men, and they're not so hot that men will lie just to get in their pants. I imagine these aren't the women complaining. 4-6, sure they get plenty of attention, but the…

Life isn't all about sex. Men work longer hours at harder jobs, despite how much women want to celebrate all the gains they've made in the workplace. During the dating phase, men outspend women 2:1. During marriage (before kids) men continue that trend. Working more, contributing more to retirement, etc. And if it all falls apart? She gets half that retirement. And I know you'll counter with all the 'unpaid labor' a woman does. Which isn't nothing, but it certainly doesn't make a good case for w…

Oh, I do fine with the ladies. But I had to grow a career and take care of my body to get there. I empathize with the young guys growing up in an era that requires an inordinate amount of effort to get a quality woman.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 09:11 PM

It's just the cold, hard, truth that to be 'good' or 'high value' is a lot harder for men than it is for women. To even get your foot in the door, we have to bust our asses in the material world, and then develop a lot of the soft qualities women look for on top of that. And when your young and full of testosterone, the urge to pair up with a lady is overwhelming. So we grind, thanklessly, and often without success.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 08:17 PM

Yeah, I understand how it feels to get no traction with women. I guess at a certain point it’s ok to take a break from trying to date and focus on other things in life that seem meaningful

Well, men don’t really have any other choice but to talk with women— unless they want to opt out of romance altogether. You know, for all its problems, I miss the red pill subs because they actually offered some advice to young men on how to get out there and talk with women. If you could look past the toxic parts, it was pretty pro-social

Shoot, being a pretty young woman is a meal-ticket if you find the right guy. Hitch your wagon to an ambitious dude and you can ride easy the rest of your life. Have a happy marriage? Enjoy it and the fruit of his spoils. Don’t like your marriage? Divorce him and enjoy the fruit of his spoils. Really no downside for attractive women
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 07:21 PM

Well, we had a whole feminist/DEI movement from Dorothy’s so I wouldn’t say she’s just living her life

I got destroyed in divorce. Lost millions, nasty custody battle. But I gotta say getting divorced— while leaving scars— has made me into a much more complete human being. I’m still hopeful to get married to someone great one day, as I don’t want to hide from life.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/25 11:21 PM

Nah. I get plenty of women. To really settle down I’d want someone with the same income
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/25 03:28 AM

So the question is, what are you going to do about it? Yeah, life is harder for men. Nobody is going to pay your bills just because you’re hot and put out. Knowing that, though, opens you up to create a life that is truly meaningful. And maybe, just maybe, you can find a woman who support you in your dreams.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/25 01:39 AM

Interesting. My ex was Mormon as well. Went off birth control without telling me. Must have had the same friends
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/25 01:06 AM

Most people who have children eventually come to see them as blessings. I was tricked into fathering a child and initially I resented the fuck out of my ex. But now I love my kid more than anything. More state welfare isn't going to make people want to have babies. Europe's tried that and their birthrate keeps dropping. We're a narcissistic, individualistic culture now-- not equipped for the self-sacrifice and delayed gratification of parenthood.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/25 12:34 AM
3

Well, marriage isn't all about sex and money, even though in divorce court they sure make it all about money. But I agree, if your ex (male or female) isn't providing anything to you, they shouldn't be entitled to your money. Freeloaders are the worst of the worst

Sorry you’ve had bad experiences with men
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/25 09:49 AM
1

Well, it's not like women are loving solitude any more than men. It's more likely that as we've become more affluent we can outsource most of our basic needs onto the state or private businesses. People are trying to convince themselves that hyper-independence is a virtue
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 06:41 PM
2

I advise the young guys to get outside and find hobbies with other men. And, as much as it pains me to say, when you're looking for a partner you gotta steer clear of feminist spaces. Maybe go to church. A lot of feminism is great, but much of the messaging is anti-male. Same as if your social media feed is misogynist, if your feed is feminist you're going to have some negative views of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/25 06:35 PM

Oh, blue pill men are just as scared. They just prefer verbal manipulation over physicality
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/25 11:58 PM

Great take. Red pill for sure works to get a guy laid. Especially when you’re in your early 20s. Blue pill, idk if there’s a coherent ideology. I wish every guy could go on a bender and bang 5 girls in a weekend. Or live with a woman for several years. You’ll find that happiness is definitely not found by making women a priority.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/25 11:52 PM
3

I think most of our early loves come from being naive, but as you age and you realize how hard it is to live with other people, you have to transition to some sort of mature acceptance of people. Most men want unconditional love from their women, but at some point it becomes clear that unconditional love is reserved for children and dogs. And women, they start off wanting a therapist instead of a man. And if they want a successful partnership they have to come to terms with the fact that men are…

Like others have said, stigma around male and female promiscuity has never been lower and it seems to be exacerbating loneliness for men and women both. The glue that formed most marriages and kept them intact (the traditional family structure) is dissolving. So men and women are flailing about, trying to figure out what really matters in relationships. Honestly I wish most men could go on a bender and sleep with 5 women in a weekend so they can see that getting your dick wet, variety, and conqu…

/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/25 03:43 AM

Idk man. Women still want relationships and they want them with men who earn more on average. Yes, outliers exist, but women are excited by men who offer stability and are out there making a difference in the world. But I get your point. Most women can’t offer the same. So relationships need to be based on shared values and mutual respect

Single moms, childfree women, and some men I suppose
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/25 04:06 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 11:08 PM

Yeah, depending on your income. But men don’t usually get full custody unless the mom is a serious train wreck, and men are more likely to be gainfully employed in the first place.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 05:45 PM
3

I guess it depends on where you live. In my state a single mom gets free college, rent, groceries, Medicaid etc until she can get a decent job (often nursing). I think my bigger point is that most people have all their material needs met, so they’re grasping at straws trying to extract more meaning from intimate relationships and creating unrealistic expectations
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 03:53 PM

Idk. It’s pretty meaningless and takes a toll on your psyche, once you’ve proven to yourself that you can get superficial validation
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 03:35 PM
2

I’d argue women are looking for therapists instead of men
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 02:33 PM
0

I’d say women who thrive relationally do so because they learn emotional regulation skills, self awareness, and keep manipulation to a minimum
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 02:28 PM
4

Well, the state has created a safety net that essentially takes away any risk of serious harm toward women (with some outliers of course). Women can get fed, sheltered, educated, police protection, child support, alimony, healthcare, and pretty much have all their needs met from society. It seems that women are acting from a space of pure biological programming, if they’re concerned about vulnerability
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 02:25 PM
-1

Sure, the extremes of men’s emotions can be violent. That’s why men have to keep those impulses in check. And the vast majority do. And if they don’t, they go to jail. I’m not sure why so many women have a hard time admitting that maybe, just maybe, their emotional instability might be causing most of the dysfunction in relationships
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 02:15 PM
0

Since when are most women emotionally stable?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 01:54 PM

We’d have different issues. I can have casual sex with attractive women as often as I want and it’s not fulfilling at all
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/25 01:52 PM

Most men want to provide and to come home to peace and nurturing. Harmony

That’s a great take

Game, kino, escalation, etc. Those strategies totally work if you want to get laid. Then recognizing the conditional morality of women when they go to family court….strong independent women suddenly turn into helpless charity cases. The trick is to recognize that most women fall into a standard deviation or two of the mean and not to take it personally, and still find a way to love them regardless

I don’t disagree that building a family can be one of the most meaningful pursuits in life. But let’s be honest— at least 25-50% of women in western society aren’t wife or mother material

The key isn’t to turn off the hormones, but to accept the fact that some guys might be chronically frustrated and to channel the energy into more meaningful pursuits than chasing 2s and 3s

Idk. If guys just did what most men have done throughout the ages— go out, explore your interests, get some skills, hang out with your bros, then ask out that girl you like— a lot of the problems will be solved. Will every young dude get a girl? No! And they never have. 25% of men throughout history never had kids because the top dude had 3 or 4 wives. But at least young guys will be out there working toward something instead of pining away for women. And in any case, having a woman in your life…

Would you hold the same standard for women who let themselves go physically in marriage? They aren’t stepping up?

Eh. They’ll bitch and moan maybe. And maybe they’ll try to get invited to the boys’ club sometimes. But most of the time they won’t want to do things the men want to do

Just go golfing or camping or fishing with your buddies and talk about life. Women aren't going to give a shit
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/25 06:58 PM

So go out and build your own male spaces? Women aren't going to do it for you
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/25 06:44 PM

Yes selfishness is a problem. AND. Women usually don't pull their weight financially. They want 50/50 and a therapist as a partner
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/25 12:28 AM

I could have 10 girlfriends at the same time if I wanted to. But that's a lot of work and I prefer one at a time. I'm probably top 5-10% of looks/income I suppose. Most guys who are like me, we fuck around and after a while we want to settle down. So, yeah, in your 20's-early 30's, there will be a significant amount of men who are 'dating' 5 girls at a time. But after that the ratio evens out. Ugly/fat women won't get a lot of interest. Nor will the less-desirable men. That's maybe 20% of people…

Shoot, i’d give my left nut for a high-earning partner
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 09:35 PM

Women can earn as much as men if they want to take risks and do the effort. Most just choose not to

When it all falls apart...the courts only care about W2's. You see, I really respected the woman I married. Educated, smart, intelligent. But she used that intelligence to play the system. I don't hate women-- hell, maybe I trust them too much. Give them too much credit. Because at the end of the day they're humans, and they use the system to their advantage. If you're going to blame anyone, blame the capable women abusing the system. They're ruining it for the rest of the gender

Then he gets to make the choice of providing for himself, or taking money from his ex wife, and the example he wants to show his kids

Depends on the woman. I've seen a few examples of truly 'strong and independent' women who divorce fairly, split custody, don't raid his retirement account, and don't take alimony. And I respect the hell out of these women. Unfortunately, most people have conditional morality. When the attorneys and their friends tell them to go for the jugular, they usually do.

At the end of the day we get to choose to be givers or takers. Whether we have self-respect, or if we hide behind the court system

Very compelling argument

My ex had more education and earned more than me for a couple years. Just not the years the court cared about.

Kyle, go make some money and then get divorced. Sometimes you gotta live through it to believe it
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/25 05:36 PM

Well, numbers don't lie. Women initiate most divorces, get preferential custody situations, and get the bulk of a man's earnings in divorce. Hard to call that a conspiracy

I'm not saying to avoid women-- you'll miss out on a lot of the beauty life has to offer. Just saying don't make them your priority

Most single moms I know are incredible women who are doing their best with the hand they were dealt. Yes, there's a few train wrecks but I'd argue fewer than child-free women, because kids have a way of forcing you to mature. Dating them is just logistically difficult
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/25 03:49 PM

Seriously. Having a woman around is great, but they can also be the source of a lot of suffering
/r/PurplePillDebate22/04/25 02:00 PM

I'll add that a woman choosing you doesn't automatically make your life better. I know a lot of guys have never had the whole girlfriend/marriage experience and they want what they can't have. But contentment really does come from within
