My wedding ring finally fits again after having my baby 2 months ago. I've been wearing a silicone band and I'm so glad to be able to take it off for good now. I'm also planning to order a piece from James Avery with my daughter's initials/birthdate engraved for my first Mother's Day. My husband is not super into gift giving, so this is a gift to myself.

Definitely agree. There is a very weird dynamic with motherhood in today's culture. I'm a FTM to a newborn and there are days where I'm a "hot mess mom" and I HATE those days. I don't know why anyone would want to glorify that lifestyle. The days that I do have my ish together are the days where I feel the happiest and most accomplished. And I actually find that if I stick to my list of priorities then I feel less depressed/anxious.

There is so much to be thankful for today: Grandma watched LO last night so Husband and I could go to our small group meeting sans Baby. It was a good bonding experience for us to just be together as a married couple to fellowship with our friends. It is so important to me that our marriage is first and foremost on the priority list (second to God, of course!). I'm also very happy that my mom and LO were able to bond as well. My prayer is that my mom lives a long life to see her grandbaby grow u…

LO is letting me get a lot more sleep at night for the moment and I'm so grateful for it. 🙌 Things are a bit chaotic so I'm trying to steal a few moments to myself when I can. I was able to do my skincare and put on some normal clothes this morning while LO was hanging out in her boppy. My heart and mind are full of joy as well as I soak in some of the silence before my day starts!

We have been married 2 years and have a 2 month old baby. He works from home full-time time, I work from home part-time, and we share an office. I try to get most of my hours in during the morning as our LO has her longest naps at that time. Then I work on whatever cleaning tasks I have for that day, plus attending to LO. Usually I'll have something going in the crock pot as well. Husband will occasionally look after LO if she gets fussy and I'm in the middle of something. Evenings are harder be…

I'm not because I feel like those stress me out even more! Right now I have a routine for the morning to get my day started and a routine before bed. I'm currently working out a "one room a day" schedule for deeper cleaning. It's a work in progress, of course! I also need to think about my goals and be realistic. Left to my own devices, my home would look like a model home but then I'd be single with no pets. But that's not my reality. Reality is I have a messy husband, a baby, and a cat. My mor…

I'm slowly trying to get into a housekeeping routine. My anxiety wants to be perfection right now, but I know that slowly incorporating tasks over time will lend to better habits/results. I really just want to do right by my husband. We've taken a huge hit financially since I went down to part-time work and I want him to feel like it was worth it. I also want to get in the habit of being a good keeper of the home for my daughter. My mother wasn't the best housekeeper and I always felt embarrasse…

I've been thinking a lot about the concept of "staying in your own lane" within my marriage and also working on making sure my speech is productive and valuable. I've been reading through Proverbs when I feed my LO in the middle of the night and I've been convicted to watch how I speak to my husband. So I've been working on not butting into my husband's affairs, but I do give him room to speak into mine. I find that it opens a dialogue on how I can improve on myself and he is not the type to cri…

I feel incredibly lucky because I know that most jobs would not be near as flexible. It's a small law firm and they (law firms in general) have a lot of turnover. There's a lot of mutual trust in our employer/employee relationship. I know I'm still replaceable, but as long as she's willing to let me stay I'm willing to work!

I feel so grateful for the flexibility of my job. While I would absolutely love to be a SAHM full-time, my husband and I are not comfortable with losing my entire income since we just bought a house and had a baby within the same week. I've been at my job for 5 years now (full-time) and my boss has been so gracious to let me go to part-time and continue to work from home since we aren't doing daycare for the LO. My overall hourly rate has increased since my hours have decreased, but I currently …

I am definitely feeling the heat in a lot of different areas of my life after having my first baby. She is only 6 weeks old, but I've already had several realizations over it. Nothing like having a daughter to give you a kick in the pants and make you realize how much you've slacked off over the years. My poor husband. He's the one who has really suffered from it. Time to be better and do better for both of them.

My fiance told last night that he made his first sale since transitioning to a different department at work. He has gone from a locksmith technician to learning how to design security/access control for commercial entities. And yesterday he got his first design project accepted by a school district!

Me too! I knew about red pill about 6 months before I met my fiance but didn't really practice it until we got together (almost like a "let's see if this really works"). I have to say that it does. We've been together for 4.5 years and are getting married next year. There's always stuff that needs to be worked on though. I don't know what your past was like but I didn't grow up with this mentality so I had to unlearn quite a bit. It took about two years of applying these principles to feel like …

I think this is one that I've struggled with the most as well. Yeah, I can submit in theory but I'm still secretly trying to guide the relationship the way I think is best especially when it comes to our future goals/timeline. My fiance is a good man so I don't know why it's so hard to just submit completely. To be honest, turning to religion has been a big help for me because it gives me some guidelines. Obviously, that doesn't work for everyone though!

Every day is an opportunity to start a new life. Every day you are presented with a myriad of choices for how you perceive the world and your place in it. Are you grateful that you are given that opportunity every time you open your eyes in the morning? If you want to quit, then quit. Nobody is stopping you. Just remember, the grass is greenest where you water it. Take inventory of yourself and the people who are a part of your life, and assess what is good for you and what is not good for you. …

Someone below responded that this sounds like a vetting problem, and I would have to 100% agree with that person. From your description, your husband does not sound like Captain material but I think you also feed into this by how you respond to him. This creates a vicious cycle because both parties are responsible. You have a threshold and no one here can tell you what you should be willing to overlook and what are violations of your personal code of conduct. You only have control of yourself, a…

How is his work life? Does he work long hours? Is his work taxing (physically, mentally, emotionally)? You didn't really go into this in your response. Nor did you talk about how you care for yourself? There is surrendering and there is being a doormat. Being a surrendered wife does not mean that you accept ill treatment. Do you set boundaries with your husband? Do you let him know when he hurts your feelings and how do you let him know? For example, do you withdraw into yourself or do you expre…

I think we need a little more information here! First, what do you consider to be a "good wife"? What thoughts/actions/behaviors are you doing that are "good wife" material? Additionally, are you being a good wife from your point of view, or are you being a good wife from his point of view? Second, does he truly have a gaming addiction? Does he work long hours or super hard and this is just his form of down-time? How often does he game? Right now he has me blocked on WhatsApp because I frustrate…

If it works for y'all then more power to ya! I would venture to guess (and agree with you) that anyone who gives you grief is most likely envious. I would love to work part time, but our financial situation and goals don't support that setup at the moment. I wouldn't begrudge another woman for that lifestyle choice if it works for her though. I would think of it more like #goals. Lol All that really matters is that your dynamic (as long as it's happy and healthy) works for you and your SO.

It has been such a big help for me to the point that I at least have to have a fan if I'm sleeping somewhere not at home. I am the exact same way when I'm running late so taking those few minutes in the morning is a must. It really just boils down to discipline. I used to hate waking up early even though it has always come easy to me. Like anything else, it will eventually become a part of you and you won't even think about it.

I wake up at 6:00 a.m. for my 9 to 5 (literally) job. I had to re-train myself to have a stricter sleep schedule because I allowed it to be all over the place when I was in college. Some things that have helped me with sleep and early rising: At least 7 hours of sleep, preferably 8+; set my alarm for 6 and count backwards until I hit my maximum bedtime. Drink more water/eat healthy. Also a cup of camomile or sleepytime tea before bed sets the mood. Exercise. My SO and I go for a nightly walk aro…

We just went through Hurricane Harvey. Fortunately, we are just north of Houston, but we still got some major rain and flooding. The two days leading up to the storm were so hectic. People were scrambling to get supplies and it was just a madhouse. Water was GONE. Food was running low. Most of the shelves were bare by the time we were able to go out and get provisions. But my SO was such a great leader during all of this and I am just in awe of him right now. His family (cousin, cousin's wife, a…

I'm grateful that school is finally out. My commute to and from work is much less stressful. I'm grateful that my SO gives good advice and helps me with family boundary issues. I feel safe knowing he always has my back. I'm grateful that I have come so far in my RPW journey since starting it 2 years ago. My former self would be mildly disgusted (lol), but I feel enlightened and more...mature? Bonus: Not married, but my favorite self care thing(s) to do when my SO isn't around is yoga, a hot bath…

I am grateful for my job. I work a cushy 9-5 as an administrative assistant in a law firm. My employer is wonderful too, which is practically unheard of in the legal field! I am grateful for my mom. I'm 25 and finally out of the nest (moved in with my SO). I've been thinking a lot about her lately and feel a lot of love and appreciation for her. We've always had a tense relationship, but a little bit of distance has really helped shift my perception of her. I am beyond grateful for my SO's trust…

Let's see....one girl talks about how her SO doesn't want marriage and she is thinking of leaving him after she finishes her schooling/career training (which he is financially supporting). Another girl likes to talk about how her husband thinks he has control/power in the relationship, but she is the one who really has the power. I say yes and no on this one. She has power/control of her sexuality, but he has primary financial control (which has more impact in the relationship as a whole). She o…

Thank you for your insight. My SO and I are very aware of the nature of women, so it's something we both try to keep an eye on. I do agree that even in good relationships, we still find things about our partner that irritate or annoy us and we find ways to air those grievances (aside from the obvious talking to our partners). Like you said, it's not an indication of a bad relationship. How you handle those little things will speak volumes and sometimes our emotions get the better of us. His guy …

Thank you for your advice! I do the same when politics or other sensitive topics come up. I will certainly try to apply the same tactics to these get togethers with the ladies. Try to treat it the same to avoid any conflict.

Thank you for your response. The temptation stems from a feeling of wanting to fit in (read: insecurity). And it is certainly something that I need to address. Lol, making new friends would probably be the easier solution. It's definitely worth a shot.

First off, thank you for taking the time to read and respond. I believe the issue is more 1 than 2. I am very, very happy in this relationship and any problems that we have are addressed with each other. Typically, I do not seek outside advice, especially if it is subjective. However, I am an insecure person and it is something that I think impacts my tendency to go with the herd. As for the solutions, I agree 100% for both of them. Sometimes they ask me directly (like what would you do if...?) …
